Park Bucheng stood by the Han River, the biting wind brushing against his face. His gaze crossed the river, fixating on an ordinary-looking factory across the way. The intense battle they had just fought still left his heart racing, but he knew this was just the beginning.
"Damn it, this weather," Li Zhenghao grumbled, rubbing his cold, red hands. "What’s our next move, Bucheng?"
Park Bucheng did not respond immediately. His mind replayed the confrontation with Kim Tae-wook. That Clone, who looked exactly like him, was frighteningly powerful. If he hadn’t detonated the explosives he had planted at the last moment, the outcome of tonight could have been drastically different.
Just then, Park Bucheng's phone vibrated. He pulled it out to see an unfamiliar number.
"Hello?"
"Park Bucheng, your good days with the Tai Chi Gang are over." A cold female voice came through the line. "I am Han Mi Na from the Special Investigation Team of the Prosecutor's Office. From now on, all your actions are under our surveillance."
Park Bucheng frowned. "The Prosecutor's Office? Do you have any evidence?"
"Evidence? Ha," Han Mi Na scoffed. "Your crimes are well-documented. We have gathered enough evidence and will soon take action against you. I advise you to turn yourselves in; otherwise..."
Before she could finish, Park Bucheng hung up the phone. He turned to Li Zhenghao and said, "The situation has changed; we need to return to headquarters immediately."
Upon arriving at the Tai Chi Gang's secret stronghold, Park Bucheng quickly gathered the core members.
"Brothers, the Prosecutor's Office is coming after us." Park Bucheng surveyed the room and spoke solemnly. "We must prepare for the worst."
"What the hell? Are they out of their minds?" Li Zhenghao couldn't help but curse. "We’re doing this for the people; what right do they have to arrest us?"
Park Bucheng shook his head. "This isn’t the time to discuss right or wrong. We need to act immediately to protect our assets and personnel."
At that moment, hurried footsteps approached. Zhao Yuhang rushed into the meeting room, his face pale. "Boss! It’s bad! The Prosecutor's Office has already started their actions! They’ve frozen several of our main accounts and are making a big deal in the media about our 'crimes'!"
Park Bucheng’s brow furrowed as he quickly scanned the report Zhao Yuhang handed him. The Prosecutor's actions were swifter and more aggressive than he had anticipated. They not only froze parts of Tai Chi Gang's funds but also used the media to portray them as a heinous social scourge.
"Damn it!" Park Bucheng gritted his teeth. "They are trying to push us to our limits!"
Li Zhenghao slammed his fist on the table. "Boss, we can't just sit here and do nothing! Should I take the brothers to the prosecutor's office and stir things up?"
Park Bucheng shook his head. "No, that would only solidify their accusations against us. What we need now is strategy, not brute force."
He pondered for a moment, and suddenly his eyes lit up. "I have an idea."
Turning to Zhao Yuhang, he said, "Yuhang, don’t you have a hacker friend? Contact him. We need to infiltrate the prosecutor's network system."
Zhao Yuhang was taken aback. "Boss, you mean..."
Park Bucheng flashed a sly smile. "Exactly. We’ll use their tactics against them. Since they want to play the public opinion game, we’ll play it to the end!"
In the following hours, Park Bucheng led the core members in meticulously formulating a series of plans. They discreetly funneled funds through various channels while preparing to counter the prosecutor's public relations offensive.
Meanwhile, in the office of the Special Investigation Team at the prosecutor's office, Han Mi Na was discussing their next steps with her colleagues.
"We have successfully frozen Tai Chi Gang's main sources of funding," reported a young prosecutor. "The media coverage has been effective; public opinion is starting to sway in our favor."
Han Mi Na nodded but remained furrowed in thought. "Don't let your guard down. Park Bucheng is very cunning; we must stay vigilant."
Just then, the office door was suddenly pushed open. A panicked staff member rushed in. "This is bad! Our system has been hacked!"
"What?" Han Mi Na stood up abruptly. "What happened?"
"Someone has breached our internal network and stolen a large amount of confidential documents!" the staff member gasped for breath. "Worse still, they’ve started publishing some of it online..."
Han Mi Na couldn't bear to listen any longer and immediately opened her computer to check the situation. When she saw the documents circulating online, her face turned pale.
These documents revealed some corruption issues within the prosecutor's office, including evidence of embezzlement involving several high-level officials.
"Damn it!" Han Mi Na gritted her teeth. "It must be that bastard Park Bucheng's doing!"
Meanwhile, Park Bucheng sat in front of his computer, satisfied as he watched the uproar online.
"It seems our counterattack has been quite successful," Li Zhenghao said with a smile.
Park Bucheng nodded. "This is just the beginning. Since they want to play, we'll play hard."
He turned to Zhao Yuhang and said, "Continue releasing those pieces of evidence, but be careful with the pace. We need to let public opinion simmer and keep the prosecutor's office on their toes."
While Tai Chi Gang was busy dealing with the prosecutor's office, an emergency meeting was taking place at the headquarters of JK Group.
"Damn Park Bucheng!" Kim Jeong-hoon slammed his hand on the table, furious. "Not only has he destroyed our Research Center, but now he's causing such a huge commotion!"
Sofia coldly regarded the enraged Kim Jeong-hoon. "Calm down, Mr. Jin. This might be an opportunity."
Kim Jeong-hoon paused in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Sofia flashed a knowing smile. "The prosecutor's office and Tai Chi Gang are fighting each other fiercely, which gives us a chance to take advantage. Why don't we..."
She leaned in close to Kim Jeong-hoon's ear and whispered a few words. Kim Jeong-hoon's eyes gradually lit up.
"Good idea!" he exclaimed excitedly. "Let's do it!"
As night fell, the streets of Seoul remained brightly lit. Park Bucheng stood by the window of the Tai Chi Gang headquarters, overlooking the bustling city.
"Boss," Li Zhenghao walked in, "our counterattack is proving effective. The prosecutor's office is in disarray, and public opinion is starting to swing in our favor."
Park Bucheng nodded, but his brow remained furrowed. "Don't let your guard down. This is just the beginning; the real battle lies ahead."
He turned to Li Zhenghao. "Notify the brothers to be ready. I sense a bigger storm is about to hit."
Just then, Park Bucheng suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over him. He staggered slightly, nearly losing his balance.
"Boss, are you okay?" Li Zhenghao quickly supported him.
Park Bucheng shook his head, forcing himself to stand upright. "I'm fine; it’s probably just fatigue from recent events."
But deep down, he knew this was no ordinary exhaustion. Ever since his last confrontation with Kim Tae-wook, he had felt a disturbance within himself, as if something was steadily eroding his body.
"It seems time is running out," Park Bucheng thought. "I must resolve these troubles quickly and uncover the truth."
Taking a deep breath, he said to Li Zhenghao, "Go inform Zhao Yuhang to accelerate his actions. We need to take full control of public opinion before the prosecutor's office can react."
Li Zhenghao nodded and turned to leave. Park Bucheng gazed out the window once more, a glimmer of determination flashing in his eyes.
