"Miss Lin, martial arts is not the only standard to measure a person's worth. My grandson is humble and does not wish to truly fight with you," Chen Jie Li said solemnly.
"Is that so? Then how about we compete again?" Lin Yin replied with a cold laugh.
"A good man does not fight with a woman. No matter how many times we compete, my grandson will always give way to you," Chen Jie Li stated.
"Heh, I'm too lazy to argue with you. How shameless can you be? If you can't beat me, you have to say he’s letting me win," Lin Yin frowned, surprised at the depths of his shamelessness.
"Miss Lin, I hope you won't be willful. Think carefully about what I said. If you miss out on my grandson, you will regret it in the future," Chen Jie Li said, gradually losing his patience. His reputation had always been impeccable, and he never expected that Lin Yin would show him no respect when he personally intervened, which left him feeling frustrated.
"President Chen, you're really boring. With a grandson like yours, you think he can pursue me? A lazy frog dreaming of swan meat—how naive," Lin Yin scoffed. Initially, she had been somewhat polite given Chen Jie Li's age, but she was taken aback by his utter shamelessness.
When it came to shameless people, Lin Yin held nothing back.
"Miss Lin, please watch your words," Chen Jie Li snapped angrily.
"Get lost, or I'll curse you out too. Don't block my view while my master enjoys the scenery," Lin Yin said impatiently.
"Cough, President Chen, since Miss Lin is not interested in your grandson, there's no need to force it. Why not go back and calm down?" Liu Chaowu suggested awkwardly. If Chen Jie Li continued this way and angered Jiang Chen, it would end badly.
"I don't need to calm down. Young lady, don't refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a penalty," Chen Jie Li's tone turned ominous as his anger grew.
"President Chen, just let it go. Don't push this further; Mr. Jiang is not someone you can afford to offend," Liu Chaowu advised quietly. After all, they were old friends from the Martial Arts Association, and Liu Chaowu didn't want to see a conflict between Chen Jie Li and Jiang Chen.
However, Liu Chaowu's persuasion was futile.
In his life, Chen Jie Li had never endured such humiliation. Most importantly, a young girl had told him to get lost—no normal person could tolerate that, let alone someone like Chen Jie Li who was the President of the Martial Arts Association.
"Weren't you saying he isn't from the Hidden Sect family? Since he's not from the Hidden Sect family, what do I have to fear? Liu brother, you might not know this yet, but my sworn brother Wu Shiding from the Hidden Sect Shen Xue Men recently broke through to the Divine Realm and has now become an elder of Shen Xue Men. For the upcoming Martial Arts Arena Tournament, I've already invited him to oversee things. You should know the weight of an elder from the Hidden Sect; even if this kid is the son of one of our Huaxia Seven Great Martial Arts Families, I can still handle him," Chen Jie Li said with a smug smile.
Liu Chaowu was slightly taken aback; he knew well what that entailed. He hadn't expected that Chen Jie Li had such power to invite an elder from the Hidden Sect Shen Xue Men to preside over matters.
People outside held great respect for the Hidden Sect families due to their mystery and depth; Liu Chaowu was no exception. After all, a Hidden Sect family had centuries of heritage that no ordinary family could compare with.
Because of their mystery and lack of understanding, they were even harder to fathom. Liu Chaowu knew Jiang Chen was formidable but felt uncertain at that moment.
He believed both the Hidden Sect families and Jiang Chen were unfathomable; if they were to clash, Liu Chaowu couldn't guarantee who would emerge victorious in the end.
