"Jiang Chen, if you don't rein in your girlfriend, I'm going to have my boyfriend teach her a lesson. I've told you about my boyfriend's background before, so don't make things difficult for yourself," Wang Duoduo said sharply.
Jiang Chen shook his head helplessly. Wang Duoduo truly was oblivious to good intentions.

Lin Yin and Liu Chaowu quickly followed him.
"This Jiang Chen actually dares to speak ill of Chen Ran. He's so narrow-minded. Mom, you must tell aunt Zhou about this later and have her give Jiang Chen a good talking-to. Relying on slander when you're not as good as others is just pathetic," Wang Duoduo continued indignantly, her face cold.
"Alright, I'll definitely mention it to aunt Zhou later. Now let's go inside; Chen Ran must be waiting for us," Chu Mei said, trying to soothe the situation. After all, she was the elder and couldn't stoop to arguing with a younger person.
The Martial Arts Hall could accommodate thousands of people, and naturally, those of higher status sat in the front VIP seats. Jiang Chen and his group took their seats in the first row.
As soon as they appeared, they attracted attention, especially Lin Yin, who had dazzled everyone at Yan Gui Tower the night before with her bold claims; it was impossible for her to keep a low profile now.

Lost in thought, Chen Ran suddenly felt an arm link through his. Startled, he turned to see it was Wang Duoduo.
He quickly pulled his arm back. He hadn't broken up with Wang Duoduo yet; he planned to wait until he could win over Lin Yin before ending things with her. But now that Wang Duoduo was clinging to him like this, it seemed Lin Yin had also noticed.
To avoid any misunderstandings, Chen Ran straightened his expression.
"Duo Duo, you're just in time; there's something I need to discuss with you," he said.
"What is it?" Wang Duoduo asked with a smile.
"Let's break up," Chen Ran stated flatly.
Wang Duoduo was taken aback, staring at him in shock.
"Chen Ran, why?" she asked incredulously.
"Because I've fallen for someone else," Chen Ran replied casually. He hadn't taken Wang Duoduo seriously from the start; their relationship was merely a fling for him. He typically changed girlfriends every few months anyway; it was only because of Lin Yin's appearance that he decided to discard Wang Duoduo sooner this time.
"Chen Ran, how can you do this to my daughter?" Chu Mei finally reacted, furious beyond measure.
"Can you two stop making such a scene? If you don't, I'll have security escort you out," Chen Ran said impatiently.
Chu Mei immediately fell silent; she was all bluster and no substance. Moreover, the Chen Family was the true powerhouse of Dao City, having dominated the area for over fifty years. As an outsider who had recently come into wealth, she naturally did not dare to provoke them.
Wang Duoduo's eyes brimmed with tears, filled with sorrow and indignation. "Chen Ran, I truly like you. How can you treat me this way? Who is that girl? I refuse to believe she is more beautiful or more capable than I am," Wang Duoduo said, her heart brimming with resentment.
