Punta Arenas Airport, Chile, midnight. 0
This is the largest airport at the southernmost tip of the Southern Hemisphere and a crucial transit point to Antarctica. We disguised ourselves as an ordinary geological survey team, blending in with researchers from various countries. 0
"Look over there," Stevenson pointed to the tarmac, where a transport aircraft of the same model as ours was parked. 0
The large gray transport plane sat quietly at the end of the runway, appearing particularly massive under the moonlight. However, through my special vision, I noticed that this plane was not ordinary; certain parts of its fuselage had been specially modified, and there were runes inscribed on it. I whispered to Li Yang, "It's subtle, but it definitely exists." 0
Noticing this, he nodded. "It should be specially modified. They’ve engraved protective runes on the fuselage to counteract the energy field interference from Antarctica." 0
Just then, a person in ground crew attire approached us. His gait was distinctive, marked by a military rhythm. 0
"Colonel Martin," Stevenson greeted him. "Long time no see." 0
"Professor," the other man nodded. "All equipment is ready." But he glanced at us and added, "Only your name is on the list." 0
"They are my assistants," Stevenson replied. "They have all undergone specialized training." 0
Martin hesitated for a moment and lowered his voice. "Professor, you know the current situation in that area. Any unauthorized personnel—" 0
"I can guarantee their professionalism," Stevenson interrupted him. "Moreover, they are special personnel like me." 0
Upon hearing the term "special personnel," Martin's expression changed. He scrutinized us closely, his gaze lingering on my eyes for a few seconds. 0
"I see," he said finally. "It seems you have found new carriers." 0
Suddenly, I noticed a scar on Martin's wrist, shaped distinctly like a simplified Taiji symbol. 0
"You are also one of the survivors," he said, now responsible for managing this secret route. 0
As he spoke, he pulled out a disk from his pocket. "This is the latest satellite imagery. The changes in that area are accelerating." 0
We gathered around a laptop to examine the images. The exposed area in Antarctica had doubled in size, and patterns were beginning to emerge on the surface in a systematic manner. 0
"It looks like a circuit board," Honda Miho remarked. "The whole place resembles a giant chip." 0
"Not just resembling it," I focused on those patterns; it was indeed a supercomputing device. "Look at the flow of energy." 0
Through my special vision, I could see countless light points flowing between those patterns. These energy flows formed complex loops, resembling some kind of operating sequence. 0
"We don't have much time," Martin said urgently. "We must take off before dawn." He handed us several backpacks. "These are specially designed protective suits that can withstand polar temperatures and shield against abnormal energies." 0

What caught my attention even more was the marking on the backpack, which was the unit's number, followed by a string of digits. 0

"Month and day," Stevenson explained, "the start time of the movement. It's also the day Japan surrendered." I asked, "Why choose this day?" 0

"Because there was a special astronomical event," he pointed to the night sky, just like today. 0

I looked up and noticed that the position of the moon was unusual. If you superimposed a map of Antarctica over the star chart, the moon was right at the center of that Taiji pattern. 0

"Get ready to board," Martin said, "and take this." 0

He handed each of us what appeared to be an ordinary compass. But under special vision, I realized that the needle did not point to magnetic north; instead, it pointed to a specific Direction. 0

"It's a life compass," he said, "capable of sensing the life fields emitted by those structures. When you reach your destination, you'll know which way to go." 0

Just then, the transport plane's engine roared to life. In the gusts created by the spinning propeller, I thought I heard some ancient whispers. 0

It was a call from Antarctica. 0
