The figure of Park Bucheng vanished into the night, leaving only the terrified expressions of Han Mi Na and Li Mingzhe. The two exchanged glances, momentarily at a loss for what to do.
"Damn it!" Han Mi Na gritted her teeth. "That Park Bucheng is absolutely insane!"
Li Mingzhe's face turned pale as he clutched his abdomen, struggling to stand. "We need to move quickly; otherwise, the Tai Chi Gang will only become harder to deal with."
Just then, Li Mingzhe's phone suddenly rang. He answered the call, and his expression darkened even further. "What? The operation failed? How is that possible?"
It turned out that while Park Bucheng infiltrated the Shilla Hotel, a large-scale operation launched by the Chaebol in conjunction with the prosecutor's office was already underway. However, the situation had taken an unexpected turn. In the outskirts of Seoul, a stronghold of the Tai Chi Gang was surrounded by police helicopters and squad cars, resembling a fortified fortress. Searchlights crisscrossed the night sky, slicing it into countless fragments. Choi Ji-ho, the leader of the Special Operations Group, stood in front of the command vehicle, gazing at the gang stronghold. He took a deep drag from his cigarette and then crushed it underfoot. "All units, be advised: the target is inside. We must capture them all! If there is any resistance, shoot to kill!" he ordered through the radio, his tone cold and devoid of emotion.
However, what responded to him was an eerie silence. Just as Choi Ji-ho began to feel uneasy, a deafening explosion erupted from within the stronghold, followed by flames shooting into the sky and thick smoke billowing out as if the gates of hell had been opened.
"What’s happening?!!" Choi Ji-ho shouted, his face changing drastically.
Before he could react, a series of explosions followed one after another, engulfing the entire stronghold in flames. The shockwaves rattled nearby trees as if signaling the end of the world.
"Quick! Get in there! Find out what’s going on!" Choi Ji-ho yelled hoarsely, a sense of foreboding rising within him.
The members of the Special Operations Group charged into the inferno amidst gunfire. However, what greeted them was utter devastation; remnants of walls lay scattered everywhere while roaring flames consumed everything in sight. To their shock, they found the stronghold completely empty, as if everyone had vanished into thin air.
"Report to the leader! No personnel found inside the stronghold!" one team member gasped as he ran over, covered in ash.
Choi Ji-ho's expression darkened ominously; he clenched his fists tightly, his nails digging into his flesh. "We've been tricked! We've been set up!" he said through gritted teeth, a surge of rage igniting within him.
At that moment, a chilling laugh echoed from behind him, like a call from hell. "Captain Choi, long time no see."
Choi Ji-ho spun around abruptly to find Park Bucheng standing behind him, wearing a mocking smile as if everything was under his control.
"You... how did you get here?!" Choi Ji-ho exclaimed in terror, feeling as though he had encountered a ghost.
“Ha ha, Captain Choi, I’ve known your operation plan inside and out for a long time,” Park Bucheng sneered, his tone dripping with mockery. Before he finished speaking, he flashed forward like a ghost, appearing right in front of Choi Ji-ho, delivering a sharp Tai Chi punch straight to Choi Ji-ho's chest.
Choi Ji-ho felt a searing pain in his chest, as if he had been struck by a speeding truck. He was sent flying backward, crashing heavily to the ground, blood spurting from his mouth.
“Cough cough…” Choi Ji-ho struggled to get up but found himself utterly powerless, his vision blurring.
Park Bucheng stepped closer, looking down at him with a mocking gaze. “Captain Choi, you underestimated the Tai Chi Gang. I’ve already laid out an intricate web for this operation, just waiting for you to walk right into it.”
Meanwhile, other strongholds of the Tai Chi Gang in Seoul were playing out similar scenes. The joint operation with the chaebols and the prosecutor's office had completely fallen into Park Bucheng's trap, resulting in heavy losses.
At the West Side Gang headquarters, gunfire erupted and flames lit up the night. Li Zhenghao led his men in a desperate battle against the officers from the prosecutor's office. Armed with dual pistols, he darted left and right like a war god, each bullet striking true against the enemy.
“Damn it! Why are these cops like rabid dogs, relentless!” Li Zhenghao roared, his eyes filled with bloodlust.
At that moment, a shadow descended from above and landed firmly in the center of the battlefield. It was Park Bucheng. He surveyed the surroundings with piercing eyes, sharp as an eagle’s.
“Boss!” Li Zhenghao exclaimed in surprise, as if he had seen a savior.
“Everyone stop!” Park Bucheng shouted thunderously, his voice booming like thunder and silencing the entire scene.
The battlefield fell silent instantly; all were intimidated by Park Bucheng’s presence.
With a fierce gaze sweeping across everyone, Park Bucheng commanded, “Proceed as planned; lead them into the predetermined trap.”
“Yes!” Li Zhenghao replied immediately, directing his men to fight while retreating, drawing the enemy toward the ambush that had long been set up.
Unaware of the trap they were stepping into, the officers from the prosecutor's office pressed on relentlessly.
From his vantage point above, Park Bucheng looked down at everything unfolding below him with a cold smile. He took out his walkie-talkie and issued his final command: “Begin the operation!”
Suddenly, the members of the Gangster, who had been lying in wait, surged from all directions, surrounding the enemy completely. The sounds of gunfire, explosions, and screams intertwined, creating a symphony of death.
The battle quickly came to an end, with the prosecutors' officers wiped out. Park Bucheng stood amidst the ruins, his gaze sharp and commanding like a king surveying his domain.
"Boss, we won!" Li Zhenghao shouted excitedly.
Park Bucheng nodded, a hint of depth flashing in his eyes. "This is just the beginning. What lies ahead will be the real hard fight."
He turned to leave, leaving behind a single statement: "Notify everyone to be prepared. A storm is coming."
Meanwhile, Han Mi Na received news of the failed operation and trembled with rage. Gritting her teeth, she said, "Park Bucheng, just wait. This time I will take matters into my own hands and make sure to drag you out!"
She immediately contacted the Chaebol High-Level, reporting the reasons for the failure of this operation. The Chaebol High-Level was furious and decided to join forces with the military to launch a more intense crackdown on the Tai Chi Gang.
A greater storm was brewing.
Park Bucheng stood atop a tall building, overlooking the bustling city below. He knew that the real challenge was just beginning. Yet there was no trace of fear in his eyes; instead, they were filled with fighting spirit.
"Bring it on," he murmured to himself. "Let's see who will be the ultimate winner in this game."
The night wind howled, as if playing a prelude to the impending battle.
