Lin Yuan suddenly opened his eyes, finding himself lying in the center of an underground space. His head throbbed painfully as he struggled to sit up and looked around. Su Jiu'er and Zhou Haoran were also slowly waking up nearby, appearing equally disheveled.
"Oh my God," Zhou Haoran complained while rubbing his temples, "I feel like I've been trampled by a herd of elephants. What on earth just happened?"
Su Jiu'er frowned, trying to recall, "I remember we seemed to have passed the test of the Five Element Spirits, and then... then I can't remember anything."
Lin Yuan stood up and brushed off the dust from his clothes. "Regardless, it seems we're still alive. That's the best news we could have."
At that moment, a commanding voice suddenly echoed in the air: "Congratulations on passing the test. As a reward, I will grant you a great gift."
As soon as the words were spoken, multicolored lights erupted from the ground, forming a massive Energy Vortex. Before Lin Yuan and the others could react, they were swept into it by a powerful force.
"Not again!" Zhou Haoran shouted. "This time, are we being sent to outer space?"
However, they quickly realized that this experience felt entirely different from before. The turbulent Lingqi surged into their bodies like a tidal wave, bringing an indescribable sense of fulfillment.
Lin Yuan was astonished to find that the meridians within him seemed to have opened a floodgate, allowing vast amounts of pure Lingqi to flow in continuously. He felt a powerful energy surging within him, as if it were about to break through some kind of barrier.
"This is... an opportunity for a breakthrough!" Lin Yuan thought with excitement as he immediately sat cross-legged and began to operate his Cultivation Method, guiding the Lingqi to impact the bottleneck of Lingjing Wu'ai.
However, things did not go as smoothly as he had imagined. As the Lingqi continued to pour in, Lin Yuan felt a sharp pain, as if countless small knives were darting around inside him. He gritted his teeth and endured the agony while continuing to guide the Lingqi.
"Lin Yuan, are you okay?" Su Jiu'er asked with concern. Although she and Zhou Haoran were also absorbing Lingqi, their reactions were clearly not as intense as Lin Yuan's.
Lin Yuan forced out a smile. "I'm fine; it's just... a bit uncomfortable."
Zhou Haoran took out a Small Scanner and scanned Lin Yuan. After seeing the readings, he gasped in shock. "Goodness! The Spiritual Energy Concentration in your body has exceeded three times the safe limit! If this continues, your meridians might explode!"
Upon hearing this, Su Jiu'er immediately rushed to Lin Yuan's side and used her abilities to help him clear his meridians. However, the influx of Lingqi was simply too fast for even her to fully control.
"Damn it," Su Jiu'er gritted her teeth. "This won't do. Lin Yuan, you must control your rate of Lingqi absorption!"
Lin Yuan shook his head firmly. "No, this might be my only chance for a breakthrough. I have to seize it!"
With that said, he suddenly stood up, formed hand seals with both hands, and began to operate his Cultivation Method with all his might. In an instant, the surrounding Lingqi seemed to respond to some kind of call and surged toward him frantically.
"Are you crazy?" Zhou Haoran shouted. "You'll blow yourself up like this!"
However, Lin Yuan could no longer afford to respond. He felt his body undergoing an unprecedented baptism, every cell trembling, every meridian swelling. The pain had reached its limit, yet he gritted his teeth and persevered.
At that moment, a wondrous change occurred. Lin Yuan suddenly felt as if his consciousness had detached from his body, entering a strange space. Here, he saw countless "rivers" of Lingqi intertwining, forming a spectacular scene.
"This is... the essence of Lingqi?" Lin Yuan marveled. He suddenly realized that he seemed to have touched upon a higher mystery.
Just then, a gentle voice echoed in his ear: "Indeed, you have reached the edge of the Spirit Realm. However, you need to go further."
Lin Yuan turned toward the voice and saw a vague figure standing not far away. Although the figure's face was indistinct, it exuded an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
"Senior, please guide me!" Lin Yuan said respectfully.
The figure chuckled softly: "Guidance is not what I offer; I am here to remind you of one thing. Lingqi, while powerful, is merely a form of energy in the world. A true strong person should be able to master all energies rather than be mastered by them."
Lin Yuan pondered: "Do you mean... I should actively control Lingqi instead of passively accepting it?"
"Smart," the figure nodded in approval. "Remember, you are the master. Go forth and guide Lingqi with your will, rather than being overwhelmed by it."
As soon as the words left the figure's lips, Lin Yuan was abruptly pulled back to reality. He found himself still standing in place, surrounded by the swirling Lingqi Vortex. But this time, his mindset was entirely different.
"I understand now," Lin Yuan murmured to himself, "I am the master!"
With that, he suddenly spread his arms wide as if to embrace the entire world. In an instant, the surrounding Lingqi Vortex halted its rotation, and all the Lingqi floated in mid-air, forming an extraordinary tableau.
"What... what is happening?" Zhou Haoran stared in astonishment at this scene.
Su Jiu'er revealed a look of delight: "He succeeded! Lin Yuan has completely mastered the flow of Lingqi!"
Lin Yuan gently waved his hand, and the suspended Lingqi obediently dove into his body like well-trained puppies. The entire process flowed seamlessly without any obstruction.
"That's incredible!" Zhou Haoran exclaimed excitedly. "Lin Yuan, how did you do it?"
Lin Yuan smiled slightly: "It's a long story. In short, I finally understood one principle: while Lingqi is powerful, we are its masters, not its slaves."

As soon as the words were spoken, a dazzling beam of light shot up from beneath the ground, enveloping the entire space. Lin Yuan and his companions felt their vision blur; when they opened their eyes again, they found themselves back on solid ground.
"We... are back?" Zhou Haoran rubbed his eyes, unable to believe it.
Su Jiu'er furrowed her brows. "Something's not right. Look over there!"
Following her direction, both Lin Yuan and Zhou Haoran gasped in shock. In the distance, the mountain peaks were slowly moving, as if they had come to life.
"Is this... a gift from the Five Element Spirits?" Lin Yuan murmured.
Just then, a familiar voice suddenly rang out behind them. "Oh my, it seems you all are having quite the fun. Mind if I join in?"
The three of them turned abruptly to see a man in a black trench coat standing not far away, a playful smile on his face.
"Han Lingyun!" Lin Yuan instantly went on high alert. "What are you doing here?"
Han Lingyun shrugged. "No need to be so tense. I just came to see an old friend. And by the way... I’d like to get a piece of the action too."
As he spoke, his gaze fell upon the moving mountain peak, a glint of greed flashing in his eyes.
Lin Yuan's heart sank, knowing that a fierce battle was inevitable. He took a deep breath and exchanged glances with Su Jiu'er and Zhou Haoran.
"It seems our adventure isn't over yet," Lin Yuan said softly, secretly channeling his Lingqi in preparation for the impending fight.
