"Director Zhang, can you talk to the Investor again? I really think I’m more suitable for the role than Lin Bingbing," Xiao Xin said.
"Lin Bingbing is the person arranged by the Investor; there’s nothing I can do," Director Zhang replied helplessly, secretly cursing Xiao Xin for her lack of shame.
"Then I’ll go speak to the Investor myself. I believe the Investor will give face to the Yun Family," Xiao Xin declared, bringing up her connections.
"Xiao Xin, enough is enough. The person arranged by the Investor cannot be changed. If you go in and offend the Investor, you might not even get the role of the second female lead," Director Zhang warned, trying to stop her.
Xiao Xin clearly had no understanding of the rules.
"Director Zhang, don’t stop me. I need to meet the Investor," Xiao Xin insisted, throwing logic out the window. She pushed past Director Zhang and entered the room.
Director Zhang shook his head in resignation and hurried after her, thinking that perhaps Mr. Jiang would indeed consider the Yun Family's reputation and allow Xiao Xin to play the female lead.
Upon entering the room, Xiao Xin saw two people sitting on the sofa and rushed over.
"Director Zhang, what’s going on?" Jiang Luyi frowned and asked, clearly annoyed at this girl’s lack of decorum.
"Uh, sorry about this, Mr. Jiang, Director Jiang. This is Xiao Xin, the candidate for the second female lead I mentioned earlier," Director Zhang said awkwardly.
"This Miss Xiao seems to have no sense of propriety," Jiang Luyi remarked with a clouded expression.
Xiao Xin’s face flashed with annoyance as she looked at Jiang Chen and questioned, "Are you the Investor?" It was hard to believe someone so young could hold such a position.
Hearing Xiao Xin's question, both Director Zhang and Jiang Luyi turned their attention to Jiang Chen, worried he might get angry.
"Someone like you doesn’t even qualify for the second female lead," Jiang Chen said flatly. Such a person wasn’t worth his anger.
"Oh? So you’re the investor for this movie? If I’m not playing the female lead, then I have no interest in playing second lead either," Xiao Xin sneered.
"If you don’t want to play it, then it’s perfect; I won’t let you play second lead either. You can leave now," Jiang Chen replied coolly.
"If you don’t give me the female lead role, I won’t leave. By the way, my boyfriend is Yun Gang from the Yun Family in Beijing. He’s on his way to Shanghai right now. You better secure my role as female lead quickly; otherwise, you’ll regret it," Xiao Xin boasted proudly about her boyfriend.
It was as if she believed that just mentioning the Yun Family would make everyone bow down to her.
Jiang Chen remained silent and continued sipping his tea; this was a trivial matter that didn’t require his intervention with Jiang Luyi present.
Jiang Luyi read between the lines and understood Jiang Chen's intent without him having to say anything. This Xiao Xin truly had no idea what she was doing by provoking Jiang Chen; she must be tired of living.
"Miss Xiao, I’ll give you three seconds to disappear from our sight. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude," Jiang Luyi said in a low voice.
"You should say that to my boyfriend," Xiao Xin retorted as she pulled out her phone and dialed a number, deliberately holding it out toward Jiang Luyi.
Jiang Luyi's face darkened as he snatched Xiao Xin's phone and threw it outside, shouting, "Security!"
Several security guards rushed in from the entrance.
"Get this crazy woman out of here! I mean throw her out, do you understand?" Jiang Luyi was visibly angry; his good mood had been ruined by this madwoman, and he certainly wasn't in the mood to be pleasant.
