After surveying the surroundings, Mo Wen turned to look at Xiao Hei beside him. At this moment, his curiosity about Xiao Hei had surpassed that of the Melted Cave itself. Ever since they discovered the cave, Xiao Hei had been unusually excited. Generally, Demon Beasts found it difficult to operate so close to lava, yet Xiao Hei seemed completely unfazed. It was merely a Beast; any other Beast that ventured here would undoubtedly be roasted within an hour. Mo Wen realized that he had paid less attention to Xiao Hei than usual, which led him to only now notice its unusual behavior. However, upon reflection, he knew that Old Lu must have noticed it too; if Old Lu had seen something amiss, he would have surely informed Mo Wen. But there was no point in dwelling on that now. Xiao Hei was already acting strangely, and he had no idea why. All he could do was take it one step at a time; one must be cautious of beasts but not neglect their hearts. 0

While Mo Wen was still deep in thought, Xiao Hei had already gotten up. At this moment, Xiao Hei appeared just as excited as before, seemingly having anticipated what had just occurred. "Xiao Hei, have you been here before?" Mo Wen asked his question despite knowing that Xiao Hei could not respond. 0

Beneath their feet lay the searing lava; such a place was inhospitable for a Chimera. Aside from those Demon Beasts that thrived in lava, no other Demon Beasts would dare to appear here. The cave was filled with a rich Fire Spirit Power. Mo Wen deduced that the source of the lava must contain an even denser Fire Spirit Power or some other Fire Attribute substance. He wanted to explore further but noticed that Xiao Hei was not leading them upstream but rather downstream. 0

As they walked, he reflected on everything they had encountered thus far. From the very beginning, when he prepared to enter the cave, he had made mistakes. The subsequent series of errors seemed impulsive but were ultimately due to a lack of practical experience. If he had given enough weight to the unknown environment, such situations could have been avoided. It seemed wise to continually summarize experiences in practice and then apply them back into practice; he wondered which sage had said that—it truly was a profound truth. 0

Recalling their previous encounters brought to mind the light he had seen that night; it undoubtedly emanated from that cave. But what could produce such dazzling light and travel through such a long underground passage? The lava beneath them? That seemed impossible. Not only did he recall his dark experience in the cave, but even if lava had erupted outward, it wouldn’t be possible for it to do so without affecting this area at all. Moreover, while the cave was indeed formed by an eruption, it hadn’t occurred recently; even if there were an eruption now, it couldn’t happen within that cave without causing some impact here. Coupled with the unusual behavior of Xiao Hei leading them forward, Mo Wen felt there must be something amiss. 0

Yet he still hadn’t discovered what was emitting that light. It made sense if he thought about it; if it were so easy to find, Old Lu would have taken it long ago. After all, the entrance they used was only a day’s journey from where they originally stayed. With Old Lu’s Realm, he could reach it in no more than an hour, and who knows how far his perception extended—within that range, any disturbance would surely catch his attention. 0

Earlier, in his panic, he hadn’t seriously considered this issue. Perhaps the glowing object had already flowed downstream with the lava last night. Looking at Xiao Hei ahead of him again, could it be that the object was useful to Xiao Hei? Mo Wen shook his head; regardless of anything else, they could only continue down this path for now. 0
