The stranger struggled for a few moments, but seeing that escape was impossible, finally gave up resisting. Ao Bing turned on the light and walked over to remove the stranger's hat and mask.
A familiar face emerged—it was Li Ming, the boy from Dorm 407, the one who had come to inform them this morning about Zhang Hao's lost pocket watch.
"Li Ming?" Nezha exclaimed in surprise, "It's you?!"
Li Ming lowered his head, unable to meet their gaze, his face filled with fear and shame.
"Why?" Ao Bing asked calmly. "Why did you steal those things?"
Li Ming pressed his lips together, refusing to answer. Nezha tightened his grip slightly. "Speak! Otherwise, we’ll turn you over to the campus security!"
Finally, Li Ming spoke, his voice trembling. "I... I didn't do it willingly... He forced me..."
"Who?" Nezha and Ao Bing asked simultaneously.
Li Ming glanced around as if afraid someone was watching, then lowered his voice. "Professor Shen Gongbao... He said if I didn’t help him collect those items, he would tell the whole school about my cheating..."
"Shen Gongbao? The professor from the History Department?" Nezha asked in surprise, recalling the teacher who always seemed particularly interested in him.
Li Ming nodded. "He knows about my cheating on last year's final exam and used that to threaten me. He gave me a special powder, saying that if I sprinkled it on a door lock, it would open any door... and taught me some strange spells that could create illusions so people wouldn’t see me..."
Ao Bing's expression grew more serious. "What kind of items did he want you to collect?"
"Antiques with dragon patterns," Li Ming replied, "rings, books, pocket watches... He said these items all have special runes on them, which he needs for his research."
Nezha and Ao Bing exchanged a meaningful glance. This completely aligned with Ao Bing's earlier speculation—someone was collecting items related to dragons.
"Where are those items now?" Ao Bing pressed.
"They're all with Shen Gongbao," Li Ming said dejectedly. "He said this is just the beginning, and there are more things to collect..."
Ao Bing pondered for a moment before asking, "Did he mention why he wants to collect these items? What does he plan to do with them?"
Li Ming shook his head. "He didn't say much, just mentioned something about 'opening a door' and the 'Dragon Clan Secret'... I didn't quite understand."
"The Dragon Clan Secret?" Ao Bing's gaze sharpened, and his voice grew more serious. "What exactly did he say?"
"I can't remember clearly," Li Ming struggled to recall. "He seemed to be looking for something like a 'Dragon Pearl' or 'Long Jade,' saying that the runes on those dragon-patterned antiques could help him locate it..."
Ao Bing's face turned pale, clearly shaken by this information. Nezha noticed Ao Bing's unusual reaction but didn't interrupt; he continued to question Li Ming, "What does Shen Gongbao plan to do next? What else does he want you to steal?"
"He said..." Li Ming hesitated, glancing at Ao Bing, "he said the next target is Room 412 in Dormitory Building Four..."
"412?" Nezha's eyes widened. "Isn't that our dormitory?"
Ao Bing's expression grew even more serious. "What does he want to steal?"
"A wooden box," Li Ming replied, "he said there is a blue scale inside, which is very important..."
Ao Bing suddenly turned around and quickly walked to his bedside table, pulling open the drawer to check its contents. Nezha knew what he was looking for—the wooden box containing the Dragon Scale.
"It's still here," Ao Bing sighed in relief, though his eyes remained vigilant. "But we need to stay alert. Shen Gongbao clearly knows something and is well aware of our identities and possessions."
