Ao Bing met Shen Gongbao's gaze and replied with a calm demeanor, "I believe the truth is often more complex and elusive than myths."
Shen Gongbao chuckled softly, seemingly pleased with the response. "Well said. The truth is indeed difficult to grasp, but it is not unattainable. With the right approach, any secret can be unveiled."
He set down his book and looked at Ao Bing with a meaningful glance. "I wish you success in your research. If you have any questions, feel free to come to my office for a discussion. After all, the Dragon Clan Legend is also one of my areas of study."
With that, Shen Gongbao turned and left, leaving Ao Bing alone, filled with doubt. This encounter was clearly not a coincidence; Shen Gongbao had come specifically to test him. However, Ao Bing could not determine how much Shen Gongbao truly knew or if he had already uncovered his identity.
Meanwhile, Nezha was conducting his own investigation. Under the pretense of seeking historical advice, he arrived at Shen Gongbao's office. As expected, Shen Gongbao was not present, providing Nezha with an excellent opportunity to search for clues.
The office door was locked, but for someone who could control fire and electricity like Nezha, this was not an obstacle. He carefully used his abilities to interfere with the electronic lock, and the door opened with a click.
Nezha swiftly slipped into the office and glanced around. It was a typical professor's office, filled with books on history and archaeology on the shelves, ancient maps and artifact photographs hanging on the walls. A neat array of documents and a laptop sat on the desk.
There was no time for a thorough examination; Nezha went straight to check Shen Gongbao's drawers. The first two drawers contained only ordinary office supplies and documents, but the third drawer was locked. Nezha used his abilities once more and cautiously opened it.
Inside was an antique wooden box that bore some resemblance to Ao Bing's. Nezha carefully opened the box to find three items lying quietly within: a Gold Ring, an ancient book, and a silver pocket watch.
"I found it!" Nezha whispered excitedly as he recognized these as the stolen items. Just as he was about to close the box, he suddenly noticed a folded piece of paper at the bottom.
Unfolding the paper, Nezha discovered a strange map marked with symbols he could not decipher, along with a prominent red mark pointing to a location labeled "Dragon Gate."
"Dragon Gate..." Nezha murmured to himself as he quickly snapped a photo of the map before restoring everything to its original state and quietly leaving the office.
At noon, Nezha and Ao Bing met in the cafeteria to exchange their findings.
"Shen Gongbao definitely knows something," Ao Bing whispered, recounting his encounter in the library that morning. "He practically hinted that he was researching the Dragon Tribe, and his words sounded like he was testing me."
"This isn't a coincidence," Nezha agreed, then revealed a photo of a map he had taken. "I found this in his office; it looks like some sort of ritual map, with the center marked as 'Dragon Gate.'"
Ao Bing examined the photo closely, his expression growing more serious. "This is an ancient opening ritual used to access the Dragon Palace. The Dragon Gate is the entrance to that passage, requiring specific items and energy to activate."
"The stolen Dragon Pattern Items?" Nezha speculated.
Ao Bing nodded. "Exactly. Shen Gongbao has already gathered three pieces and may need more. The symbols on the map represent different energy nodes that form a complete formation."
"So he really intends to open that passage!" Nezha said anxiously. "We must stop him!"
"Most importantly, we need that wooden box and the Dragon Scale inside," Shen Gongbao replied, his voice tinged with barely concealed excitement. "With it, we will be one step closer to our ultimate goal."
"Ao Bing and Nezha have been in their dormitory, making it difficult to act," Li Ming's voice trembled slightly. "And they seem to have sensed something; they've become more vigilant lately."
"Hmph, those two kids," Shen Gongbao sneered. "They are indeed not simple. Especially Ao Bing; the blood of the Dragon Tribe flows through him, making him the perfect key to open the Dragon Gate."
