This situation was entirely unexpected. After killing a formidable Chimera, I sought a place to heal, my head spinning. To my surprise, I stumbled into the territory of a Concentration Realm Beast. A fierce battle ensued, and I barely managed to kill the Demon Beast. However, the Blood Stench from the fight attracted an even more powerful Demon Beast. After a desperate struggle, I found myself fleeing in defeat. I thought I had escaped safely, but it seemed that the Demon Beast was not ready to let me go; it pursued me relentlessly until I fell off a cliff. If it weren't for the two pickaxes I had prepared, which I used to cling to the cliff face in that moment of peril, I would have likely become just another corpse at the bottom of that ravine. 0

Now, I was out of strength to fight again and needed to recover quickly to avoid being discovered by either the Demon Beast or the Chimera. I hadn’t thoroughly explored this cave for dangers; my previous exploration indicated that it was quite deep, but I assumed there were no Demon Beasts or Chimera residing here. As for the cave entrance where I currently was, most Demon Beasts wouldn’t be able to come down unless they were flying types. The entrance faced the sun, so it was unlikely that any Chimera would venture here. For now, I felt safe. 0

Two days later, I felt my injuries had healed significantly, and my internal energy had also recovered quite a bit. Although I wasn’t at peak condition, I was ready for a fight. However, my head still felt heavy and dazed—definitely not ideal for combat. Searching through my storage pouch for medicine to heal my Shen Hun, my expression grew darker with each item I pulled out. There was no medicine for Shen Hun recovery, and my other healing supplies and combat talismans were running low. Did this mean I would have to consume Chi Jing again for healing? The thought filled me with dread; I had already consumed plenty of Chi Jing recently to restore my Shen Hun, and this lingering heaviness and sharp pain in my head were likely side effects of that consumption. If I continued taking Chi Jing, I might lose my mind before even leaving the forest. 0

Suddenly, an idea struck me. I retrieved two boxes from my belt; inside were two Lotus Seed Pods from the Shuang Sheng Lian. The Shuang Sheng Lian could help enhance one’s Shen Hun, so it should also aid in healing its injuries. Although the Bai Cao Jing didn’t mention this explicitly, I was willing to give it a try—especially since I had plenty of Lian Zi on hand. The Shuang Sheng Lian given to me by Old Qilin was ancient; according to him, he planted it long before he died thousands of years ago, meaning this plant must be over ten thousand years old now. Counting the Lian Zi on each Lotus Seed Pod revealed eighteen seeds each—plump and evenly sized. Taking one seed from each pod, I swallowed them whole. While it would have been best to refine them into pills for maximum effect, given my current circumstances, swallowing them directly was my only option. 0

“Hmm! Is there no effect? Or is it just not enough?” After consuming two Lian Zi without feeling any changes, I took another two seeds and swallowed them as well. About fifteen minutes later, a refreshing coolness spread through my mind; after that came warmth. This alternating sensation continued every hour. Gradually, I noticed that the heaviness in my head began to dissipate along with the sharp pain. 0

A day later, feeling that my Shen Hun injuries had completely healed and even sensing an increase in range, I nearly laughed out loud at the benefits brought by the Shuang Sheng Lian. However, remembering that I had already consumed four Lian Zi and only had thirty-two left made me unable to smile anymore. 0
