The echoes of the New Year's bell still lingered, and the campus was filled with the festive spirit. Although Ao Bing had to return to the Dragon Palace after New Year's Eve, the dream meetings brought by the Time-Space Bracelet made Nezha feel less lonely. Every night before falling asleep, he would gently rub the ruby bracelet on his wrist, eagerly anticipating their reunion in dreams.
That morning, Nezha awoke from a particularly sweet dream. In it, he and Ao Bing stood on an endless beach, the waves gently caressing their ankles as they held hands, quietly watching the sunrise.
"Good morning, Ao Bing," Nezha murmured to the air, softly kissing the bracelet. "Today is another day of missing you."
Gathering his thoughts, Nezha stretched and prepared to start a new day. He took out his phone and habitually scrolled through the Campus Forum. However, today’s homepage sent a chill down his spine—the pinned post's title was particularly eye-catching: "Campus Hazard! Li Nezha's Shocking Secret: Magic Orb Reincarnation!"
Nezha's fingers trembled as he clicked on the post, and the content was even more shocking than the title:
"Shocking! Our school's first-year Physical Education Department student Li Nezha is actually the legendary Magic Orb Reincarnation! According to reliable sources, he possesses the ability to control flames and electricity; last month's power outage incident was caused by his loss of control. What's more terrifying is that the Demon Orb is inherently evil and will eventually reveal its true nature, endangering campus safety! Here is the evidence..."
The post included several blurry photos capturing moments when Nezha inadvertently displayed his abilities in the dormitory, as well as scenes of him practicing by the lake with Ao Bing. Though not very clear, they were enough to identify Nezha's face and the flames dancing in his hands.
Nezha's eyes widened in disbelief at what he saw. It was obvious that someone had secretly taken these photos, but who? And why would they do this? A series of questions swirled in his mind, but what terrified him most were the overwhelming comments below:
"Oh my god! No wonder he's so good at sports; he must be cheating with superpowers!"
"This person is too dangerous; the school should expel him immediately!"
"I always thought he was abnormal; turns out I was right..."
"Magic Orb Reincarnation? Isn't that just a ticking time bomb? What if it goes out of control one day?"
Nezha's fingers weakly slid across the screen; each comment felt like a sharp knife stabbing into his heart. Even more shocking was that within just a few hours, this post had garnered tens of thousands of views and hundreds of comments, with nearly everyone expressing fear and rejection towards him.
"How could this happen..." Nezha murmured, his face pale.
Just as he was lost in shock, his phone suddenly rang—it was Aunt Taiyi calling.
"Nezha, did you see the Campus Forum?" Aunt Taiyi's voice sounded unusually anxious.
"I saw it," Nezha replied weakly. "I don't know what to do..."
"Calm down; it's not as bad as you think," Aunt Taiyi reassured him. "I've already contacted the principal; he wants to talk to you. For now, don't go out—wait for me to pick you up."
After hanging up, Nezha slumped onto his bed, feeling as if his entire world was collapsing. The dream college life he had built so carefully, the friendships he had formed, and his newly established relationship with Ao Bing... all of it could shatter because of this turmoil.
"Why now..." Nezha closed his eyes in pain and clenched his fists. Just when he needed Ao Bing by his side the most, he was far away in the Dragon Palace, unable to meet except in dreams.
