Nezha looked at Aunt Taiyi in surprise, who nodded apologetically.
"You reached an agreement behind my back?" Nezha felt betrayed, anger and grievance surging within him. "Fine, if that's the case, go ahead and do what you think is right! Don't consider me at all!"
"Nezha, calm down," Ao Bing's voice was pleading. "Everything is to protect you."
"I don't need protection!" Nezha nearly shouted. "What I need is respect and trust! Ao Bing, if you truly care about me, you wouldn't treat me like this!"
A cacophony of noise came from the other end of the line, as if someone was approaching Ao Bing.
"I have to hang up," Ao Bing said hurriedly. "Remember my words, Nezha, don't act rashly. I promise I will resolve this issue as soon as possible and come back to you."
"If you really cared about our relationship, you wouldn't exclude me," Nezha said coldly. "It seems the responsibilities of the Dragon Prince are far more important than love; I understand now."
"Nezha, it's not like that. I—"
"Enough!" Nezha interrupted Ao Bing. "Go be your prince; go save your Dragon Tribe. Stop pretending to care about my feelings."
With that, Nezha abruptly hung up the phone, immediately feeling a wave of regret wash over him. He shouldn't have spoken to Ao Bing that way, especially when the other was in such a dangerous situation. But grievance and anger had taken over, suppressing the voice of reason.
"Nezha..." Aunt Taiyi looked at him with concern.
"Do you think I'm being too willful?" Nezha forced a bitter smile. "Maybe I am, but I just can't accept being pushed aside and treated like a weakling in need of protection."
Aunt Taiyi sighed, "I understand your feelings, but Ao Bing has his own difficulties. As the Dragon Prince, he bears the fate of his entire clan. This is not just a simple personal choice; it is a responsibility that concerns the lives of countless beings."
"I know," Nezha said softly, "I just... I just hope he can consider my feelings a bit more. I have my responsibilities too, my Mission. I am not just the 'Magic Orb Reincarnation'; I am also a person with independent will."
"Time will prove everything," Aunt Taiyi comforted him. "The most important thing right now is, what do you plan to do? Will you follow Ao Bing's wishes and stay at school, or..."
Nezha raised his head, determination shining in his eyes. "Of course, I won't stand by idly. If Ao Bing won't let me go to the West Sea, then I'll go to the East Sea and take a look. Shen Gongbao's information may not all be false; perhaps the Li Yang Sect has deployments in both places."
Aunt Taiyi frowned. "That's too risky. What if Shen Gongbao is really leading you into a trap?"
"Then I'll confront this trap myself," Nezha clenched his fists. "I've had enough of being treated as a pawn; it's time to show my strength."
Seeing Nezha's resolute expression, Aunt Taiyi knew she couldn't easily change his mind. After a moment of contemplation, she said, "In that case, I won't stop you. But promise me that if you sense anything unusual, you will retreat immediately and not act recklessly."
"Thank you for your understanding, Taiyi Senior," Nezha said sincerely.
The two agreed to set off for the East Sea in the evening to scout the situation first. If anything seemed off, they would decide on their next course of action.
Back in his dormitory, Nezha lay on his bed, reflecting on the argument he had just had with Ao Bing. He knew he had been harsh, but the grievance in his heart was hard to quell. He understood Ao Bing's responsibilities and concerns but also hoped that Ao Bing could understand his feelings—he didn't want to be merely someone who was protected; he wanted to fight side by side and face difficulties together.
