"What a beautiful house!"
"This house must be worth over twenty million, with five bedrooms and two living rooms. It's so spacious!"
As they entered the room, Huang Lin's relatives couldn't help but look around, their faces filled with envy.
"It's really stunning," even Huang Lin couldn't help but let her eyes shine with admiration.
"Lin Lin, I will work hard in the future. I believe I can buy a house here too, not necessarily this big, but at least a three-bedroom apartment," Wang Shun Yuan said.
"It doesn't have to be here; we could buy in another neighborhood. This one is a school district property, and the prices are inflated—over a hundred thousand per square meter, ridiculously expensive," Huang Lin replied with a gentle smile, showing her understanding.
"Young Wang, it's good to have ambition, but don't be blindly confident. The houses in Immortal Lotus Garden are beyond what my daughter and son-in-law can afford. Even a three-bedroom apartment costs over ten million. Unless you hit the lottery, relying on your salary as an office worker won't cut it. Even if you earn a million a year, it would still be tough to afford," Aunt Huang Lin chuckled at Wang Shun Yuan's grand aspirations.
Wang Shun Yuan felt a bit awkward and wanted to retort with the saying about fortunes changing over time, but he knew that shouting slogans would only invite ridicule. After all, ten million is astronomical for an ordinary office worker.
"Mr. Jiang, are you satisfied with the room?" Qin Xiaoya's driver asked respectfully.
"Wang Ge, are you satisfied?" Jiang Chen patted Wang Shun Yuan on the shoulder and asked. Jiang Chen had always called him Brother Wang since childhood and didn't change that now.
"Yes, yes! It's just too nice; I feel embarrassed. If we dirty it up, it would be hard for you to explain to your friend," Wang Shun Yuan said somewhat sheepishly.
"It's fine; as long as you're happy, consider this your wedding house," Jiang Chen smiled.
"Hey, come look! Why are there so many things in the master bedroom?" Suddenly, a voice came from the master bedroom, and everyone rushed in to see numerous gifts symbolizing marital happiness.
There were gold items, jewelry, bright red comforters, statues of Guanyin for fertility, and sweet pastries—it's as if this family had just gotten married.
"What’s going on? Could it be that this family just got married too?" Huang Lin's mother frowned as her joy turned into displeasure upon seeing all the gifts in the room.
"Of course! I was wondering why this house looked so well-decorated; it’s clearly set up as a wedding house. Young man, this is a bit of a joke—using someone else's wedding house without even changing the decorations? That’s not auspicious!"
"I thought it was really good luck that someone had prepared a wedding house for you ahead of time; turns out it's second-hand! We can't get married here; let's go."
"Cousin, you should just get married at the hotel instead. With all these jewels and accessories belonging to someone else, if anything goes missing, you'll have to pay for it! The jewelry here must be worth millions!" Huang Lin's relatives quickly chimed in. Seeing how nice Huang Lin's wedding house was—even if borrowed—they felt a twinge of jealousy.
Relatives can be like that; they wish you well but don't want you to do better than them.
Huang Lin felt a bit worried after hearing her cousin's words; after all, it was someone else's house. Who knew why all those valuable items were still lying around? With so many people around during the wedding, losing even one or two pieces would mean she’d have to compensate for them.
