At that moment, Chen Renjing had downed half a bottle of XO and felt a bit dazed. However, she had been paying close attention to Qin Xiaoya and naturally recognized her. Upon seeing Qin Xiaoya, she thought she must be drunk and hallucinating. How could someone like Qin Xiaoya possibly appear here?
She repeated to herself over and over that it must be an illusion. She simply could not accept that the CEO friend Jiang Chen mentioned could be Qin Xiaoya. Was this some kind of international joke? These two individuals were completely unrelated; how could they possibly have any connection?
Chen Renjing found it hard to believe, and Wang Tu, the crew-cut man, was equally incredulous. He confirmed again and again that the person before him was indeed Qin Xiaoya. Given Wang Tu's status, he certainly did not have the qualifications to be friends with someone like Qin Xiaoya, but he had at least seen her in person. Qin Xiaoya was a top beauty in the capital's socialite circle, like a lotus blooming in the center of a pond, coveted by many. Unfortunately, this lotus was not something just anyone could pluck; even getting close would result in being repelled by its cold aura.
"Brother Tu, who is that woman?" a young man behind Wang Tu asked.
"Qin... Qin Xiaoya," Wang Tu replied.
"Qin Xiaoya? Is she the ice queen CEO from the Qin family?" The group of young men around Wang Tu couldn't help but gasp in surprise.
Wang Tu nodded and then looked at the Lobby Manager, saying, "Why didn’t you say so earlier? Since she's a guest of Miss Qin, we naturally have to give her face."
Wang Tu spoke loudly on purpose so that Qin Xiaoya could hear him. Although he was arrogant and domineering, he knew how to pick his battles; facing Qin Xiaoya, he had no courage at all.
"Chen Renjing, you should have said something earlier! Since you're a guest of Miss Qin, if you had mentioned it, we would have definitely let you go without any trouble," Wang Tu said.
The Wavy Haired Girl was still unwilling to relent and poured the remaining half bottle of XO over Chen Renjing's head before shoving her aside.
"Consider yourself lucky."
Chen Renjing was pushed away and fell to the ground in a disheveled state. Huang Lin hurried over to help her up as she swayed drunkenly.
"Miss Qin, I'm sorry for disturbing you," Wang Tu approached to apologize.
"That woman has nothing to do with me. Handle your own affairs; there's no need to concern yourself with me," Qin Xiaoya replied coolly.
"Uh..." Wang Tu was taken aback but didn't know what else to say. He could only force a smile and say, "The grievances between us are settled then, Miss Qin. I won't disturb your meal any longer; I'll take my leave."
Wang Tu dared not linger. After years of mingling in the capital, he had heard plenty about Qin Xiaoya's reputation. Although she was just a girl, many men felt ashamed in her presence. Wang Tu was certain that if he offended her, he would face dire consequences.
Seeing Wang Tu about to leave, Huang Lin and the others felt relieved. However, just as Wang Tu and his group were about to exit, a voice slowly rang out.
"Don't leave yet."
The voice was calm and steady; it wasn't Qin Xiaoya but a stranger—a young man who was playing with some cards in his hand.
Wang Tu turned around to look at Jiang Chen. He didn't know Jiang Chen at first and hadn't paid much attention until he saw Qin Xiaoya standing before him while Jiang Chen sat there casually like an old master. A sense of dread filled Wang Tu; could this guy be even more significant than Qin Xiaoya? His mind raced as he dared not act carelessly. Looking at Jiang Chen with a forced smile, he asked, "Is there something you need?"
