Qin Xiaoya's expression darkened, growing increasingly impatient. She knew that Jiang Chen wouldn't waste time on such trivial matters. If Jiang Chen were to take action, these few people would likely be dealt with on the spot.
"Are you going to give it or not? Just one word," Qin Xiaoya said, her tone turning serious.
Seeing Qin Xiaoya's stern face, Wang Tu felt a chill run down his spine and was somewhat fearful. At least for now, he couldn't afford to offend her; he needed to go along with what she said.
"Fine, fine. Since Miss Qin says it's ten million each, then it's ten million. But I don't have that much cash on me right now. Let them give me their bank account numbers first, and once I gather the money, I'll transfer it to them," Wang Tu said, his attitude respectful.
This was merely a delaying tactic. Given the current situation and Qin Xiaoya's public declaration, if he were to refute her, it would be seen as disrespectful. With her status, maintaining face was paramount. He agreed for now, planning to plead for leniency later. Although he didn't have the standing to directly ask Qin Xiaoya for favors, he did know some influential figures; spending a little money to have them intervene was still possible.
Qin Xiaoya glanced at Jiang Chen, who nodded slightly. Understanding her cue, she wasn't worried about Wang Tu defaulting on his promise.
"Then let's do it this way. Write an IOU, and you can leave," Qin Xiaoya said. After all, she was a businesswoman and valued proper procedures. If it were Jiang Chen, there would be no need for an IOU; who would dare owe him money? That would be like owing a debt to the King of Hell—one would be courting disaster.
The Lobby Manager quickly fetched paper, pen, and a seal. Wang Tu had no choice but to write the IOU before hastily leaving with his companions.
Once Wang Tu departed, the Lobby Manager urged the onlookers to disperse so as not to disturb Miss Qin during her meal. The private room returned to calmness, with everyone watching Qin Xiaoya while Huang Lin's relatives appeared uneasy.
Jiang Chen sensed that Wang Shun Yuan was puzzled and decided to accompany him to the restroom.
"Jiang Chen, what's going on here? You actually know someone like Miss Qin? I feel like I'm dreaming; I'm somewhat anxious," Wang Shun Yuan whispered.
"You’re getting married tomorrow and still dreaming? Haha, buddy, just don’t ask about this matter right now; you'll find out later. For now, focus on your wedding. Let's go eat; after dinner, we need to rehearse for the ceremony," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"Alright then, but let me ask you one last question: does Miss Qin like you?" Wang Shun Yuan asked seriously.
"I think you should ask her that yourself; how would I know what’s in her heart?" Jiang Chen chuckled in surprise.
"Do you like Miss Qin?" Wang Shun Yuan pressed further.
"If we're talking about romantic feelings between men and women, then definitely not," Jiang Chen stated bluntly.
"Wang Shun Yuan exclaimed in disbelief, "Jiang Chen, how did your standards get so high? I see that Miss Qin is interested in you; how can you not feel anything? It's unbelievable! She's even more beautiful than those movie stars!"
"Matters of the heart are complicated. Now let's head back for dinner," Jiang Chen said as he patted Wang Shun Yuan's shoulder with a smile.
"Wait a minute! What’s up with your sister?" Wang Shun Yuan had another question.
"She's an adopted sister. I don’t have any siblings anyway, so I treat her like my own sister," Jiang Chen explained.
"Oh, I see." Wang Shun Yuan understood and followed Jiang Chen back to the private room.
