"It seems you haven't eaten yet. Let her in to join us for dinner," Jiang Chen said.
Qin Xiaoya nodded, then answered the phone, speaking a few words with Ma'erka before hanging up. A few minutes later, Ma'erka walked in alone.
Although many people regarded Ma'erka as an imposter at that moment, the appearance of a beautiful white girl was still quite eye-catching.
Ma'erka approached Jiang Chen, and Qin Xiaoya had already placed an extra chair between them. Ma'erka sat down, looking a bit shy.
Seeing Ma'erka sitting right in front of him, Chen Renjing and the others were momentarily stunned.
"Let's eat," Jiang Chen casually said as he handed his chopsticks to Ma'erka.
"Thank you," Ma'erka replied politely.
"Are you really Ma'erka?" one of Huang Lin's roommates couldn't help but ask.
"Yes, hello," Ma'erka responded graciously.
"I’m your fan! Can I take a photo with you?" Huang Lin's roommate exclaimed excitedly. Girls can be quite crazy when it comes to their idols, and sitting at the same table with an international superstar made her bold enough to ask for a photo to share on social media.
"Of course," Ma'erka readily agreed.
After taking photos with Huang Lin's roommates, Liu Hui and Gao Jian blushed as they also asked for pictures. By the end, everyone had taken individual photos with Ma'erka, leaving Chen Renjing frowning. Just yesterday, she had mentioned how difficult it was to get a photo with Ma'erka, and now she felt embarrassed.
"Let's take a photo together too," Ma'erka suggested, noticing that Chen Renjing was the only one left without a picture.
Chen Renjing was taken aback but quickly stood up to take a photo with Ma'erka.
Jiang Chen didn’t say much during this exchange.
After the photos were done, Wang Shun Yuan and Huang Lin came over to propose a toast. Wang Shun Yuan was so excited that he nearly teared up while looking at Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya, his words overly sentimental.
"Wang Ge, let’s drink! Everything is unspoken," Jiang Chen quickly interrupted, unable to handle Wang Shun Yuan's emotional speech.
"Alright, let's drink then," Wang Shun Yuan nodded, realizing that saying more would be pointless at this moment.
Over an hour later, the banquet finally came to an end. After sending off the guests, Huang Lin's parents invited Wang Shun Yuan's parents to climb the Great Wall at Badaling in the afternoon.
"Jiang Chen, if you have no plans this afternoon, let's go climb the Great Wall together," Wang Shun Yuan suggested.
"Gao Kang and I have no plans; as for Jiang Chen, I’m not sure," Liu Ying laughed.
"I have no plans either; let's go together," Jiang Chen agreed without hesitation.
"Can I join too? I've never been to the Great Wall," Ma'erka said, instinctively looking at Jiang Chen.
"Of course you can," Jiang Chen nodded.
In the afternoon, a group of them went to Badaling to hike the Great Wall. They had a great time, but during the National Day holiday, there were too many people. Jiang Chen got separated from the group on the wall, and it wasn't until dark that they regrouped at the Badaling exit.
"What should we do next?" Wang Shun Yuan asked. He wanted to play the gracious host but felt that with Qin Xiaoya around, he didn't quite have the right to do so.
"Boss, you and your wife should head back first. Tonight is your wedding night; we won't disturb you," Liu Ying joked.
Wang Shun Yuan and Huang Lin blushed a bit, but then seemed to remember something and quickly turned to Qin Xiaoya. "Miss Qin, we are already so grateful for your help with the wedding. We won't need the wedding suite; thank you for your kindness."
