"Let's go, take me to your Qin family," Jiang Chen suddenly said.
"Ah? Young Master!" Qin Xiaoya exclaimed, startled. She feared that Jiang Chen would unleash a massacre at the Qin family. She knew all too well that Jiang Chen never hesitated to kill; anyone he wanted dead would meet their end without question. Although she didn't have a good impression of her uncle, he was still family, and she certainly didn't want to see Jiang Chen go on a killing spree.
Seeing Qin Xiaoya's shock, Jiang Chen smiled and reassured her, "Don't worry, I'm just going to check out your Qin family."
"Alright, I'll call and let my grandfather know to wait at home," Qin Xiaoya replied, understanding that she couldn't refuse Jiang Chen's request.
After finishing her call, she quickly informed her grandfather, Qin Baonan.
Upon hearing that Jiang Chen was coming to the Qin family again, Qin Baonan was momentarily stunned, feeling both surprised and delighted. He had already witnessed Jiang Chen's capabilities during their last encounter, and his own life had been saved by Jiang Chen's elixir. However, he also knew that Jiang Chen was not an ordinary person; he had heard rumors of him killing without a second thought. He worried that this visit might lead to tragedy.
"Did Mr. Jiang say what he was coming for?" Qin Baonan asked.
"He didn't say, Grandpa. Don't ask any more questions; just get ready quickly. Mr. Jiang and I will be there soon," Qin Xiaoya replied.
"Okay, I'll prepare right away." Qin Baonan hurriedly hung up the phone and gathered the Qin family.
Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya strolled around Weiming Lake at Capital City University for a while before heading to the Qin family.
The Qin Family Villa was brightly lit and bustling with activity. All of Qin Baonan's sons were present except for the eldest son, Qin Tong.
"Where is Qin Tong?" Qin Baonan asked as he stepped out of his study, scanning the hall but not spotting his eldest son.
Everyone else shook their heads in confusion.
Qin Baonan frowned slightly but chose not to press the issue further. He knew that his eldest son opposed Qin Xiaoya taking charge and that Jiang Chen was her ally. It made sense that Qin Tong would avoid meeting him; after all, Jiang Chen hadn't specifically requested to see him.
"Dad, what is Mr. Jiang coming for?" the second son of the Qin family inquired.
"It's still unclear," Qin Baonan replied thoughtfully.
"Surely it's nothing good. Third brother, you should keep an eye on your daughter and prevent her from getting too close to Mr. Jiang. He may have ulterior motives," the second son remarked, harboring his own dislike for Jiang Chen due to his influence over how long Qin Xiaoya might hold power in the family.
Qin Xiaoya's parents looked helpless. Although they were impressed by Jiang Chen's prowess after hearing about his performance in Songnan last year, they honestly didn't want their daughter involved with him. Their daughter was so beautiful; it was indeed possible that Jiang Chen might take advantage of her. However, despite their attempts to persuade her otherwise, she refused to listen.
"We can't control what happens with Qin Xiaoya, but I believe as long as we don't offend Mr. Jiang, we won't attract any trouble," said Qin Xiaoya's father.
"We won't offend him. But our elder brother has no good feelings toward Mr. Jiang. He has stated that he doesn't want Qin Xiaoya to take control of the family's power; it's highly likely that Mr. Jiang is here for this reason," the second son added.
"Heh, my daughter taking charge is what Dad wants; can elder brother oppose that? There's no need for Mr. Jiang to intervene," Qin Xiaoya's parents chuckled at this notion.
"Yes, letting Qin Xiaoya take charge is my intention. How dare he not listen? Mr. Jiang shouldn't interfere with this matter, right?" Qin Baonan was also quite angry. He knew that his eldest son was dissatisfied with his granddaughter being in power, but as long as he was still alive, there wouldn't be any issues. There was no need for Qin Xiaoya to call Jiang Chen over.
