As Qin Xiaoya's childhood friend, Yang Yuxin naturally understood her personality well. Ever since they were young, Qin Xiaoya had always been incredibly aloof, especially towards boys. She had an innate resistance to them; if it weren't for unavoidable circumstances, she hardly interacted with any men.
If there wasn't something special between Qin Xiaoya and Jiang Chen, how could she possibly feel shy? The only thing that could make an ice-cold beauty blush was love.
"That's not true," Qin Xiaoya insisted once more.
However, her explanation sounded somewhat weak. Yang Yuxin had already made up her mind and wasn't listening to her. She scrutinized Jiang Chen again and, standing in front of him with a playful smile, said, "I never expected Qin Xiaoya would be interested in you. I’m starting to doubt her taste—do you really think you’re worthy of her?"
"Yuxin!" Qin Xiaoya said anxiously, dragging Yang Yuxin aside. She didn't want her friend saying foolish things in front of Jiang Chen.
"Why are you so worked up?" Yang Yuxin asked, confused.
"You... just stop talking," Qin Xiaoya said seriously, looking quite anxious.
"You’re really strange. As your good friend, I feel the need to point this out: your taste is really questionable. This guy isn’t even a handsome prince, and his fashion sense is lacking. How can you be interested in him? Does he have a powerful background? But it seems there aren’t any prominent Jiang families in the capital," Yang Yuxin pondered aloud.
"Yuxin, please just leave my matters alone," Qin Xiaoya replied. If it weren't for their long-standing friendship, she wouldn't have said so much.
"I can’t just ignore it! If you want to date someone, just tell me! I can introduce you to my brother; he’s always been interested in you. Plus, he’s much taller and more handsome than this Jiang guy. You two would be a perfect match! If you end up with him, it would be like Beauty and the Beast," Yang Yuxin exclaimed.
Although Yang Yuxin spoke softly, Jiang Chen still heard her. He merely smiled faintly and chose not to engage.
"Qin Xiaoya, you can chat with your friend; I’ll go sit over there," Jiang Chen said as he picked up a glass of red wine and moved to the nearby lounge area.
"Yuxin, enough about your brother! I’m not interested in him at all. And Mr. Jiang is not my boyfriend—please stop saying such things," Qin Xiaoya warned seriously.
"Alright, alright! I won’t say anything more. But if he’s not your boyfriend, why are you blushing? It’s quite strange," Yang Yuxin observed as she noticed Qin Xiaoya seemed a bit upset.
"Blushing is normal! Just look at your outfit—how can it be so revealing? It makes me blush just looking at it!" Qin Xiaoya replied as she glanced down at Yang Yuxin's rather daring attire.
"What’s wrong with that? Haven't you seen those Western celebrities on the red carpet? My outfit is actually quite conservative compared to theirs," Yang Yuxin argued confidently.
"Fine," Qin Xiaoya said, left speechless.
"Come on, tell me more about that guy! How did you two meet?" Yang Yuxin continued her inquisitive nature.
"Yuxin, please be a bit more polite towards Mr. Jiang and stop asking about him! If you keep this up, I’ll have no choice but to tell your parents that you already have a boyfriend in the United States," Qin Xiaoya warned sternly.
Yang Yuxin shot a glare at Jiang Chen as if silently acknowledging his cleverness.
