We focused our inquiries on my neighbor, Aunt Zhang. Once she understood our intentions, she eagerly shared a lot of gossip with us. 0

The original owner and her husband had a daughter named Jiajia, but last month, Jiajia went missing. Grandma Li initially claimed that Jiajia had mischievously opened the door and run out while she was busy in the kitchen. 0

Community Property Management and Jiajia's parents intended to report her missing, but Grandma Li threw a fit, insisting that calling the police would be embarrassing. She insisted that Jiajia was just out playing and would return soon, leaving the property management and her parents with no choice but to reluctantly agree. 0

After searching for a few days, Grandma Li then claimed that her granddaughter had been abducted and was in a hurry to sell their house and move. Jiajia's parents disagreed and wanted to call the police, but Grandma Li resorted to crying, throwing tantrums, and even threatening to hang herself, saying that Jiajia was under her care and that reporting her missing would drive her to despair. 0

In the end, Jiajia's parents sold their house and moved to another building. 0

Aunt Zhang also emphasized that Grandma Li had a strong preference for boys over girls. 0

After hearing all this, we thanked Aunt Zhang and took a few steps away when we were suddenly stopped by Jiajia's grandmother. 0

She stormed over, pointing at us and shouting angrily, "What are you saying everywhere? Don't think you can extort me!" Neighbors nearby heard the commotion and peeked out to see what was happening. 0

Grandma Li looked like someone not to be trifled with. I had heard before that she was notorious for being unreasonable in the community; even minor disputes could lead her to yell for hours, and she was skilled at making scenes. 0

Su Yao and I exchanged glances, both feeling a bit of a headache. 0

I gritted my teeth and said to Su Yao, "Let’s ignore her and go back." 0

With that, I took Su Yao's hand and walked past Jiajia's grandmother without acknowledging her insults. If we couldn't confront her, it was better to just leave. 0

I never expected Grandma Li to be so troublesome. 0

Ever since that day, she has been walking her dog in front of my house every day. She lets the dog relieve itself right at my doorstep. Not only that, but whenever the dog sees me, it barks incessantly. 0

She also throws her trash at my door, and every garbage bag is torn and reeks to high heaven. 0

Dragging my exhausted body home, I was greeted by a scene of chaos at my doorstep. Trash was strewn everywhere, mingling with the foul smell of dog feces. 0

Rage surged through me in an instant. I trembled with anger, gripping the strap of my bag tightly as I shouted into the empty surroundings, "Grandma Li, you’ve gone too far!" 0

Yet all I received in response was the increasingly arrogant barking of the dog. 0

I had reported this to the police before, but they were powerless to stop Grandma Li's actions. 0

I thought this was the limit, but even more infuriating events were yet to come. 0

When I prepared to go out on the weekend, I discovered a long scratch on my car, with the paint chipped away and glaring in the sunlight. Next to the scratch was a crooked word that read "Get lost." 0

I was both furious and anxious, my fists clenched so tightly that my nails dug into my flesh. 0

I could no longer tolerate this and decisively called the police again. 0

The officers arrived quickly, reviewed the surveillance footage, and discovered it was a child who had done it. Standing nearby was Grandma Li, clearly directing her relative's unruly child to do this! 0

However, due to Grandma Li's old age and the fact that the child was too young, the police could only provide her with a verbal warning. 0

Grandma Li stood with her hands on her hips, looking quite pleased with herself. She cursed under her breath, and the wrinkles on her face deepened as she twisted it in defiance, completely ignoring the police's admonishments. 0

In the end, the police shook their heads in resignation and left, while the neighbors whispered and pointed at the scene. 0

I found myself surprisingly calm as I approached Grandma Li, stopping three meters away from her. I didn't dare get any closer; I feared she might spit at me, something she had done before. 0

"Grandma Lin, may I ask why you didn't report your granddaughter missing?" 0

"I was just inquiring about your family situation, yet you come to bother me every day. What are you afraid of, or perhaps feeling guilty about?" 0

As I watched Grandma Li's arrogant demeanor slowly shift to one of panic, I turned and walked away before she could respond. 0
