Most of the gains came from that unfortunate fellow who had been frozen to pieces. Even now, Mo Wen could not understand why that person had ended up like that. If it came to cultivation, that individual must have been far superior to him. It was highly likely that this person was someone sent by the organization to hunt down the ancestors of the the Li Family. However, there were no identifiable items left on him; otherwise, once he got out, he would have inquired about the events of that year, mainly to see how many people still knew about the token. It seemed there would be no opportunity for that now.
After reflecting on everything that had happened during his journey and summarizing his thoughts, he reached a conclusion: his luck was quite good, and he was destined to become an exceptional master. He even fantasized about the glorious life he would lead as a renowned figure in the martial world. All descriptions in stories about great masters seemed to revolve around "wielding power over the world while indulging in the beauty of women." Upon deeper thought, it did not seem like the life he yearned for.
Having accounted for both material and spiritual gains, he cleared his mind and began to restore his state of being, contemplating the Yin Yang Principle. Although the letter did not specify what the Tai Chi Xuantian Sect's Kung Fu secret was, its name suggested a connection to Tai Chi and thus to Yin Yang. Perhaps his arrival here was related to this principle. Unknowingly, seven days passed. Mo Wen awakened from his contemplation and started cooking in the courtyard. Perhaps no one had done such a thing here before; if the Former Sect Master were present, he would surely feel delighted, as this behavior was quite fitting.
After a satisfying meal, he sat down at the table in the main hall and picked up a scroll, ready to peruse it. However, as he held it in his hands, Mo Wen felt embarrassed; it appeared to be a book but was actually a Stone Scroll. The craftsmanship was so exquisite that he hadn’t realized it at first. Regaining his composure, he attempted to press the Stone Scroll against his forehead as described in stories but quickly abandoned the idea when nothing happened—it seemed different from what he had imagined.
Holding the book with both hands on the table, he activated his Law. With a mindset of trying it out, he decided to refine this book using his Law. In an instant, the scenery around him shifted; he found himself in a space surrounded by starry rivers with numerous Nebula shining in the distance. It felt as if he were the master of this world. Mo Wen gazed in astonishment at everything before him—was this what the Former Sect Master referred to as unfathomable? Indeed, it was extraordinary. He reached out to touch the starry river before him; where his hand reached, the stars dissipated, and the scene vanished. At that moment, a voice echoed in his mind: "To master this skill is to be chosen as our sect's leader. To practice this skill requires you to abandon your cultivation, shatter your Dan Tian, sever your meridians, and experience the mysteries of Yin and Yang..."
Sitting on his pillow and looking at the Stone Scroll in his hands, Mo Wen furrowed his brows tightly. He had exited from the scene within the book; although he hadn’t refined it completely, he now understood how to read its contents. Using Law as guidance was indeed an ingenious way of inheritance. If it weren't for his cultivation of Yin Yang Principle, even if he obtained this Kung Fu, he would have been unable to comprehend its contents.
However, what troubled Mo Wen were not these insights but rather the cultivation requirements: abandon one’s own cultivation? Shatter Dan Tian? Sever meridians? Wouldn’t that turn him into a cripple? How could one cultivate after that? Moreover, one would have to endure two Xuan Tian tribulations beforehand; so far, he had only experienced one. The next Heavenly Tribulation required him to reach perfection in Ning Shen Realm. Those who had undergone two Xuan Tian Jie would undoubtedly be considered geniuses in this world—who among them would willingly choose to cripple themselves and start over? Such demands were simply outrageous.
