In ancient times, or perhaps even earlier, the Xuantian Sect might have held a certain reputation in the martial world, with people actively seeking the Yin Yang Orders. However, in the present era, only scattered legends remain, as can be inferred from the persecution faced by the ancestors of the the Li Family.
"What am I thinking about? I should just give it a try first," Mo Wen thought to himself. He realized that he sometimes overthought things. After all, these events were part of history, and he had many secrets of his own that he could not reveal. Adding another mystery like the Xuantian Decree didn't seem to matter much. Shaking off his thoughts, Mo Wen decided not to rush into action. Instead, he took some time to rest. The Xuantian Decree was so enigmatic that even if he succeeded, it would likely consume a significant amount of his energy.
Over the next few days, Mo Wen did not simply sit idle in the courtyard but explored the entire cave. There were various ways to restore energy beyond just meditating. In the past, hiding in one spot to meditate was unavoidable; now that he was safe, walking around and surveying his future domain seemed like a good choice.
After half a month of recovery and adjustment, Mo Wen gathered some herbs from the hill at the bottom of the cave and enjoyed a hearty meal. Sitting cross-legged in the center of the courtyard, he decided it was time to attempt refining the Xuantian Decree. As for which Law to use, this actually saved him a lot of trial and error. The entire Xuantian Sect practiced Tai Chi Philosophy, which naturally aligned with the Yin Yang Principle governing the Xuantian Decree.
Once he felt prepared, Mo Wen did not rush into action immediately. Instead, he recalled the fusion changes he had observed regarding the Xuantian Decree outside the cave. If he could enhance his understanding of it, it would surely aid him in his upcoming refinement process. "Yin and Yang separate, Yin and Yang coexist, Yin and Yang generate life, Yin and Yang merge..." These were characteristics of the Yin Yang Principle—the only Origin Law he knew that could separate and merge. When separated, they existed as two independent opposing Laws; when merged, they formed a singular Law. The Xuantian Decree comprised both Yin Decree and Yang Decree; each could exist independently but would not fulfill the complete function of Xuantian Decree alone.
Mo Wen was particularly struck by how the seals and inscriptions appeared during their fusion—though he did not fully recognize all of them, there were only two colors: black and white. The arrangement and combination of these two-colored seals during fusion left a deep impression on him. It seemed that if he were to refine the Xuantian Decree, it could only be done in pairs.
Thinking about what might occur during the refinement of the Xuantian Decree made Mo Wen's scalp tingle with apprehension. There were countless seals within it, and he had no idea how long it would take to refine a single set of seals. However, this was currently his only option.
This time, Mo Wen did not take a break; he decided to seize the moment and complete the refinement process. During this period, he hadn't really exhausted himself and thus did not need recovery time. Nonetheless, some preparation was necessary—like paying homage to Temple of the Five Viscera.
For two months, he continuously attempted to refine the Xuantian Decree. Although he had fully anticipated its difficulty, when it came down to actual refinement, he realized that his initial assumptions had been overly simplistic. Failure was inevitable; however, the frequency of his failures became increasingly hard for him to accept. At this point, he no longer had energy left to doubt whether he was a "genius." He looked more like a malevolent spirit—pale-faced with blood streaming from his seven orifices. "Pfft!" He spat out a mouthful of old blood.
