The last pair! Phew!
As the refining process progressed, it became increasingly difficult. With each pair of Stone Seal refined, he nearly spat blood; once a failure occurred, it meant starting all over again. However, with each attempt, Mo Wen discovered that the Stone Seal previously refined became easier to refine again. The more times they were refined, the easier it became to do so again.
Gulping down the prepared meat soup, he closed his eyes to recuperate. He was just one pair away from success, and he felt he had taken at least one step closer. As for failure, he chose to ignore it completely. Opening his eyes, he stood up and went outside to fetch water and ingredients. After so many failed attempts at refining, he not only deepened his understanding of Xuantian Decree but also accumulated considerable experience in maximizing the medicinal properties of the herbs. With the ingredients and herbs in the pot, Mo Wen sat cross-legged in front of the stove, closing his eyes to contemplate. As the refining progressed and failures increased, he noticed that each failure led to a significant growth in his comprehension of the Yin Yang Principle. Thus, every time he recovered, he would also spend some time reflecting on the changes in Law and studying Xuan Tian Manual, followed by insights into Xuan Tian Formation. The more he contemplated, the more profound he found the interplay between the two; given the right conditions, he would have loved to start over immediately.
Phew! This time Mo Wen didn't even have time to drink his own soup before he fainted. In his unconscious state, Mo Wen felt himself appear in that familiar void space. This time was different; he found himself sitting cross-legged at the center of the Yin Yang Fish diagram, familiar symbols beginning to emerge in his mind...
"How long have I been asleep? What a waste!" Upon waking up, Mo Wen realized he was lying on the ground and hurriedly got up to open the cauldron lid. The soup inside had already spoiled and gone sour. Looking at the ruined meal, he couldn't help but wail.
" Xuantian Decree!" Before losing consciousness, he had known that he had successfully refined it; however, not seeing Xuantian Decree now made him anxious. His connection to Xuantian Decree still existed, which meant it was somewhere in this courtyard. But there was nothing much to search for here; the walls were bare and clean—there wasn't even a pebble as big as a thumb, let alone a palm-sized token. After searching several times without finding any trace of Xuantian Decree, he returned to sit down heavily on the ground, his face darkening.
"Ah!" He slapped his forehead hard; since his connection with Xuantian Decree remained intact, it couldn't have been lost. And since it had already been refined, all he needed to do was control it with his mind for it to appear. Focusing his mind, Xuantian Decree materialized on his left palm. At this moment, Xuantian Decree was no longer a physical entity but rather composed of glowing runes arranged in intricate patterns that looked quite fantastical. After studying it for several hours, he found that with his understanding of Xuan Tian Manual and Xuan Tian Formation, he could not grasp its mysteries completely; however, being able to use it was Mo Wen's greatest gain.
"Hahaha! I can finally leave!"
The dense forest lay like a massive blanket across the earth, with roars and sounds of battle from beasts echoing within. Towering mountains shot up like pillars into the sky; some were covered in sheer cliffs that displayed a fierce grandeur while occasionally a few trees grew from crevices in these cliffs—these rocky walls could be a paradise for herb gatherers or perhaps their nightmare. Medicinal herbs grew among these crevices and on rocks; other mountains were thickly forested with sturdy trees appearing robust and heavy. In the distance lay a sheer cliff that divided the land into two levels as if a staircase had been carved into the earth itself.
