"Young Master Gu, you should really go look in the mirror," Wang Tu said.
It was only then that Gu Xiangzhou realized something was off. He hurried to the bathroom, with Wang Tu following closely behind.
Upon reaching the bathroom, Gu Xiangzhou nearly gasped at the sight of himself in the mirror. Who was this red-faced person staring back at him?
Realizing what had happened, he quickly splashed water on his face, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't wash it away. This left Gu Xiangzhou feeling extremely anxious. He had always prided himself on his handsome appearance, and now he had turned into a red-faced figure. It felt worse than death.
"What on earth is going on?" Gu Xiangzhou exclaimed after scrubbing for what felt like ages, even rubbing his skin raw, yet the purplish-red hue remained stubbornly embedded in his skin as if it had fused with him.
Strangely enough, while his neck and below were also stained with wine, they showed no signs of the same effect. Above his neck, however, was a stark contrast of purple-red that looked almost ridiculous.
Wang Tu watched from the side, struggling to suppress a laugh.
"Young Master Gu, it must be Qin Xiaoya's trick. You need to confront her," Wang Tu suggested.
"How can I face anyone looking like this?" Gu Xiangzhou retorted angrily.
"I have a mask."
"A mask won't do! I need a helmet."
"Alright, I'll go get one. Young Master Gu, just wait here in the bathroom."
After a short while, Wang Tu returned hurriedly with a motorcycle helmet in hand.
Gu Xiangzhou stepped out of the bathroom. Everyone had already seen his appearance earlier and assumed he could wash it off, but now it was clear that it wasn't coming off.
"Qin Xiaoya, you are despicable! What did you put in this wine? Why can't I wash this red off my face?" Gu Xiangzhou demanded furiously.
"Can't wash it off? This is just ordinary red wine; I didn't do anything special. Everyone saw what happened; I didn't interfere. If there's an issue with the wine, you should talk to the event organizers. But honestly, Gu Xiangzhou, you're overreacting. How could red wine possibly stain your skin permanently? Take off that helmet; let me see what's going on," Qin Xiaoya replied earnestly as if she were genuinely unaware of anything amiss.
The event organizer, a portly middle-aged man, was startled by Qin Xiaoya's words and quickly interjected, "This really isn't my fault! The red wine was all sourced from the same supplier; there can't be any issues. Everyone drank it just fine."
As he spoke, he approached Qin Xiaoya and noticed there was still some red wine left in her small barrel. Not daring to try it himself, he asked one of his trembling subordinates to lean forward. He splashed some of the remaining red wine onto the man's face and then wiped it off with a towel, revealing no lingering red marks.
"Young Master Gu, see? The wine is fine! Perhaps you're allergic to red wine? You might want to visit a hospital," the portly man suggested nervously. If Gu Xiangzhou truly ended up disfigured, it would spell trouble for him too.
"I've been drinking red wine for years; how would I not know if I'm allergic? Qin Xiaoya, stop playing dumb and hand over the antidote!" Gu Xiangzhou snapped impatiently.
"I have no idea what you're talking about! What antidote? It sounds like I'm the one who harmed you! You were the one who wanted a billion and asked me to splash you with wine in front of so many witnesses. Now that something's gone wrong, you can't pin this on me! There are still five bottles of red wine left; if you want more trouble, we can continue. If you're done with this nonsense, we can wrap things up and let others carry on," Qin Xiaoya said defiantly.
