"I really don't know who this Mr. Jiang is," Ye Xiaoying said. " brother Hua, you must have known about Mr. Jiang for a while. Have you investigated him?"
"Someone has looked into it, but it wasn't me. You know Mr. Jiang's background; you'd be even more surprised," Hua Yuejin replied.
"Is Mr. Jiang's background even bigger than the Hidden Sect?" Ye Xiaoying asked.
"No, Mr. Jiang comes from a very ordinary family. He is from Southeast Province, Qingcheng City. His mother passed away early, and during his high school years, his father took him to Nangang City. But in his senior year, his father fell ill and also passed away," Hua Yuejin explained.
"This... this can't be possible!" Ye Xiaoying exclaimed in shock. "With a family like that, how could someone like Jiang Chen emerge? It's truly unbelievable."
"I thought it was impossible too, but perhaps there really are prodigies in this world," Hua Yuejin said.
"That seems like too much of a prodigy!" Ye Xiaoying found it hard to believe. "If you said he was a reincarnated master, that would be more acceptable."
"The idea of reincarnation seems even more absurd to me," Hua Yuejin shook his head, looking helpless.
While they were discussing Jiang Chen, Hua Qian hurried over.
"Ancestor, may I have a word?" Hua Qian said respectfully.
"Just speak freely; Brother Ye is not an outsider," Hua Yuejin replied casually.
"Yes," Hua Qian responded respectfully before continuing, "Ancestor, Hua Xu was at De Xiang Tea House and had his arm severed by someone."
"Who has the audacity to sever an arm of someone from the Hua Family?" Hua Yuejin frowned slightly but remained composed as he asked coldly.
"It was a young man," Hua Qian said indignantly.
"A young man?" Hua Yuejin was taken aback. Even Ye Xiaoying, who was sipping tea nearby, put down her cup and exchanged a glance with Hua Yuejin, both thinking the same thing.
"It couldn't be Mr. Jiang, could it?" Hua Yuejin said with some alarm.
"What did this young man look like?" Hua Yuejin quickly asked, showing signs of agitation.
Seeing the Ancestor so worked up left Hua Qian stunned as well; he realized the situation was serious and hurriedly repeated what he had just heard from Hua Xu.
"The young man said he spared Hua Xu's life out of respect for you, Ancestor. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been just an arm; it would have been a head," Hua Qian explained.
Hua Yuejin pondered this and couldn't determine if it was indeed Jiang Chen. After all, he wasn't familiar with Jiang Chen, and given Jiang Chen's strength and character, he likely wouldn't show any favor to him.
If he truly did show favor to him, it would leave Hua Yuejin both surprised and flattered.
"Let's go; take me there quickly." There was no point in overthinking it now; they needed to see if the person involved was indeed Mr. Jiang.
"I'm going too," Ye Xiaoying said.
A group of people hurried to De Xiang Tea House. Inside, the atmosphere grew extremely tense as Hua Xu lost an arm. Only Jiang Chen remained at the tea table, leisurely sipping his tea. Gu Yu and the others stood nearby, looking somewhat at a loss.
“Qin Xiaoya, you should have a good discussion with manager Gu. If manager Gu is willing to pay one billion, I will immediately restore his son's appearance. However, if there is even a hint of hesitation from manager Gu, his son will remain like this for the rest of his life,” Jiang Chen casually remarked.
Qin Xiaoya nodded and turned to Gu Yu. “ manager Gu, you must have heard what my Young Master said. One billion—are you prepared to pay it or not?”
Gu Yu wore a complex expression, rendered speechless.
“I'll give you ten seconds to think it over. After ten seconds, if you don’t respond, it will mean you don’t wish to pay the one billion,” Qin Xiaoya said coldly.
