Lu Bu led his army to the foot of the mountain and saw Li Jue's large force arrayed at the base, banners fluttering and soldiers lined up neatly, creating an imposing spectacle. Li Jue stood at the front of his formation, pointing at Lu Bu and laughing loudly, "Lu Bu! You boast of being invincible in the world, but today let's see if you can step over my army!" 0

Upon hearing this, Lu Bu's anger flared. He raised his Fangtian Halberd and shouted, "You scoundrel, do not be so arrogant! Watch as I cleave your head!" 0

Before he finished speaking, Lu Bu urged Red Hare forward like a gust of wind towards Li Jue's camp, with his army following closely behind, the sound of battle cries echoing through the air. Seeing this, Li Jue pretended to panic and ordered his troops to retreat up the mountain. Lu Bu, feeling triumphant at the sight of the enemy's retreat, urged his men to pursue fiercely. However, suddenly from the mountaintop came a cacophony of battle cries, and countless arrows rained down like a storm, accompanied by boulders rolling down, causing Lu Bu's army to be thrown into chaos with heavy losses. 0

"Retreat!" Lu Bu frowned deeply and waved his hand to command his troops to fall back to level ground while he personally held the line for cover. At that moment, a scout rushed in with alarming news: "General, bad news! Guo Si's army is attacking from behind!" 0

Startled, Lu Bu immediately turned to face the enemy and adjusted his troops' formation to counter Guo Si's assault. He charged into the enemy ranks with his Decorated Halberd flying through the air, causing disarray among Guo Si's forces. However, just as Lu Bu prepared to counterattack, he heard a thunderous drumbeat from behind; Guo Si's troops were rapidly retreating into the woods. 0

Confused but without time to ponder further, another scout galloped in with urgent news: "Li Jue's army is coming down the mountain again, preparing to launch an attack!" 0

"These scoundrels think they can mock me, Lu Bu!" His anger surged as he rallied his forces once more against Li Jue. But before they could engage in battle, thunderous drums sounded from behind—Guo Si's army was attacking again. 0

Lu Bu turned back to confront them and charged into Guo Si's camp, spilling blood like a river. Yet Guo Si did not linger for a protracted fight; he beat the drums for retreat, rendering Lu Bu’s assault ineffective. Soon after, Li Jue’s forces reappeared at the foot of the mountain, tauntingly challenging him. Lu Bu found himself unable to attack or retreat, caught in a relentless grind against his enemies. 0

Days passed and Lu Bu’s army grew weary and demoralized. Standing outside his tent, he gazed at Li Jue’s banners on the distant mountain with clenched fists; rage surged within him but he felt powerless. He muttered coldly to himself, "A bunch of scoundrels daring to toy with me, Lu Bu!" 0

As Lu Bu paced angrily within his tent, occasionally slamming his fists on the table in frustration, a messenger hurriedly entered and knelt down shouting, "General! Urgent news! Zhang Ji and Fan Chou’s two Bandit Armies have invaded near Chang'an; the capital is in grave danger!" 0

Lu Bu abruptly halted in his tracks as his expression changed drastically. He seized his Fangtian Halberd and coldly declared, "If these scoundrels dare to attack Chang'an, I will personally lead my troops back to rescue it!" 0

He quickly ordered the camp to break and led his main forces back towards the capital at speed. However, halfway there, a sudden uproar erupted behind him as dust rose high into the air. A scout rushed in with urgent news: "General! Li Jue and Guo Si are pursuing us closely!" 0

Lü Bu gritted his teeth and roared, "Despicable thieves! To attack while my army is away rescuing Chang'an is truly shameless!" 0

He immediately ordered his troops to form a defensive line against the enemy, but he understood that the current situation did not allow for prolonged fighting. He waved his hand and commanded, "All troops retreat! Do not linger in battle; hurry back to Chang'an!" Lü Bu personally led the rear guard, fighting fiercely to block the enemy's pursuit, yet he still suffered heavy losses. 0

When Lü Bu's remnants reached the foot of Chang'an, the sight before him made his heart sink. The Bandit Army led by Zhang Ji and Fan Chou had surrounded the city like a dark cloud, and the morale of the defenders on the city walls was low, with some even raising white flags to surrender. Lü Bu felt anxious but forced himself to remain calm, personally overseeing the defense and leading multiple breakout attempts, all of which ended in failure. 0

After days of fierce fighting, Lü Bu's soldiers were exhausted. Coupled with their fear of Lü Bu's violent temper, many began to secretly defect to the enemy, causing morale to further deteriorate. Faced with an increasing number of traitorous soldiers, Lü Bu felt a mix of anger and helplessness; his brows furrowed deeply as a profound worry flashed in his eyes. 0

Days later, under the cover of darkness, flames suddenly erupted within Chang'an, and the sounds of battle rang out deafeningly. A panicked soldier rushed into Lü Bu's tent and reported loudly, "General! It's bad! Dong Zhuo's remnants Li Meng and Wang Fang are colluding from within the city, having opened the city gates. The Bandit Army has completely invaded from all sides!" 0

Lü Bu was taken aback and immediately donned his armor and mounted his horse, leading several hundred personal guards in a desperate attempt to block the Bandit Army. However, enemies surged into the city like a tidal wave; the defenders had already scattered. Despite Lü Bu's relentless fighting, he could not turn the tide. As he swung his halberd to slay enemies, he fought his way toward the Azure Lock Gate. 0

Lü Bu stood outside the Azure Lock Gate on horseback, gripping his Fangtian Halberd with an anxious expression. "Minister," he urged, "the fire has broken out in the city, and the Bandit Army will attack at any moment. If we do not leave now, there will be no way to retreat! Please hurry and follow me out of the city to leave a glimmer of hope for our country!" 0

Wang Yun remained standing at the front of the hall, his expression stern but unwavering. With his hands clasped behind him, he gazed at the distant flames with a resolute tone. "General, as a minister of this nation bound to its fate, if I were to seek self-preservation at this moment, there would be no more talk of loyalty or righteousness for our country. I, Wang Yun, am willing to share this city's fate; please do not persuade me further." 0

Lü Bu clenched his fists tightly, anger and reluctance filling his gaze. "Minister! If you die for your country, who will manage affairs? Who will rally the world to defend it? This is nothing but a death sentence!" 0

Wang Yun turned around and looked steadily at Lü Bu with a calm gaze. His voice was low but firm. "My death is not worth lamenting. If you can preserve your life, you must plan for the long term. Please convey my message to the lords of Kanto: prioritize our nation above all else and do not be distracted by my fate." 0

Lü Bu took a deep breath; his chest heaved as he ultimately did not utter another word. He gritted his teeth tightly and gave a heavy flick of the reins while shouting, "Take care!" He then waved to the remaining hundred cavalrymen behind him and galloped out of the city toward Yuan Shu. 0

Inside the city, flames blazed everywhere amidst thick smoke. Li Jue and Guo Si led their forces rampaging through the streets. They commanded their Bandit Troops to plunder freely as cries from Chang'an's citizens filled the air; corpses littered the streets. Tai Chang Qing Zhong Fu, Tai Fu Lu Kui, Zhou Huan Zhou Huan, City Gate Captain Cui Lie, and Yueqi Xiaowei Wang Qi all sacrificed their lives for their country amidst the chaos. 0

The Bandit Army quickly approached the inner palace, surrounding the imperial city. The flames cast a red glow on the palace walls, and panic spread within. The courtiers prostrated themselves on the ground, pleading for Emperor Xian to ascend the Xuanyuan Gate and pacify the rebellious troops. Emperor Xian donned his Huang Gai and climbed to the platform, surveying the situation within the city, his eyes filled with helplessness and indignation. 0

Upon seeing Emperor Xian appear, Li Jue, Guo Si, and others immediately commanded their soldiers to cease looting, kneeling on the ground and calling out, "Long Live the Emperor!" The chaos among the rebels subsided slightly, and the clamor amidst the flames temporarily diminished. 0

Leaning against the railing, Emperor Xian coldly regarded Li Jue and the others kneeling below him, his voice laced with suppressed anger: "You did not wait for my summons but took it upon yourselves to lead your troops into Chang'an, wantonly slaughtering. What is your intention? Do you truly wish to rebel?" 0

Li Jue raised his head and bowed deeply, his voice high-pitched and urgent: "Your Majesty, please see clearly! We harbor no intentions of rebellion! Grand Preceptor Dong is a loyal minister to Your Majesty, yet he has been secretly harmed by Wang Yun. We have come here to avenge Grand Tutor Dong; this is not an act of rebellion. If you can hand over Wang Yun, we will immediately withdraw our troops and cause no further disturbance to the state." 0
