Zhuque was the only woman among the four, in her forties, with a charm that still lingered. Her beauty was comparable to Liu Liangmei's, though Zhuque's makeup was less elaborate, exuding a more martial spirit.
"Mr. Jiang, let me pour you some wine!" Zhuque said with a smile, and Jiang Chen accepted without hesitation, holding out his cup.
A faint orange glow flickered in Zhuque's hand as the liquor in the white porcelain bottle began to boil, releasing mist as she poured it. The liquid swirled in the cup, looking hot enough to burn, yet Jiang Chen seemed unfazed and drank it down in one go.
Zhuque was taken aback; her technique appeared insignificant in Jiang Chen's eyes. Was the temperature not high enough? She poured herself a cup and found it quite hot. Did this guy not fear the burn?
Seeing Jiang Chen finish his drink, she followed suit but ended up scalding her throat. Fortunately, she used her Inner Energy to alleviate the discomfort.
Li Yang was somewhat exasperated; three of his four divine beasts had already embarrassed themselves in front of Jiang Chen.
"Xuanwu, you haven't toasted Mr. Jiang yet. When you do, make sure to show genuine sincerity," Li Yang urged, signaling him to demonstrate his true skills. The previous three had already shown their abilities, but they paled in comparison to what Jiang Chen could handle.
Xuanwu was short and stout but stood up with a commanding presence while holding his cup. Jiang Chen had just finished his drink; he hadn't brought Qin Xiaoya along since she wouldn't be of much help and had stayed back in the capital. Ye Xiaoying, however, quickly picked up the bottle to refill Jiang Chen's cup.
Jiang Chen raised his glass and returned Xuanwu's toast from a distance. Just as he was about to drink, Xuanwu spoke again, "Wait a moment, Mr. Jiang. Drinking like this is rather dull; how about we play a drinking game to liven things up?"
"Sure! How do you want to play?" Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"Since we are all Martial Artists, let's use our martial skills while drinking. Watch closely," Xuanwu said as he placed his cup on the table and summoned his Inner Energy into it, swirling the liquid like a fine thread that flowed directly into his mouth.
"Good technique!" praised Zeng Xianyi's two male instructors with applause.
Xuanwu finished his drink and smacked his lips in satisfaction with his performance. This Inner Energy water control technique required great attention to detail and wasn't easy to master; Xuanwu had practiced for many years to achieve such finesse.
After Xuanwu's display, everyone's gaze naturally turned to Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen smiled; he found this trivial skill uninteresting and merely tedious. Drinking should be simple; complicating it went against its very essence.
"Mr. Jiang, you are the chief instructor of the Martial Arts Special Forces invited by my elder brother; your martial arts mastery must be profound beyond measure. Surely you don't think much of Xuanwu's minor skills," Li Yang said with a grin, trying to provoke him.
"Indeed, it's just some minor skills. Since everyone is in high spirits and enjoys these tricks, I can entertain everyone; drinking alone isn't much fun—let's all drink together," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"????"
Everyone was puzzled, unsure of what Jiang Chen meant, wondering if he was changing the subject. Just as they were in doubt, Jiang Chen snapped his fingers and raised his right hand slightly. Suddenly, all the drinks in front of everyone floated into the air.
