One of the traditions of the Calderia Kingdom is the Divine Descent Festival. Every thirty years, the council holds a grand ceremony symbolizing the kingdom's "bloodline theocracy," guided by royal blood to invoke the Oracle Stone and summon the legendary Order God Apparition, thereby affirming the legitimacy of the old regime.
However, this year's ceremony was destined to deviate from the script. Because the deity… would not come.
On the day of the ceremony, Sigrid Lancer stood atop the altar. She was still beautiful, her robe pristine white, and a perfect aristocratic smile graced her lips. She raised her hand and lightly touched the top of the Oracle Stone.
In the next moment, the stone flickered. Then, it remained unresponsive.
The observing nobles murmured among themselves, and council advisors exchanged glances. The emcee cleared his throat: "Please, Your Highness, try once more."
Sigrid took a deep breath and attempted the incantation again—still no response.
At that moment, a beam of light suddenly appeared in the sky. The crowd assumed it was a divine miracle and knelt in reverence. Then they heard a voice—but it was not that of a god.
It was from the Emotion Recognition Sphere Beta.
"Detecting activation of noble core ceremony, assisting with inspection… Analysis complete: your Oracle Stone is second-hand; its last activation was thirty years ago, and operating permissions have been revoked due to 'system update failure.'"
A deathly silence enveloped the scene.
The Emotion Recognition Sphere Beta added insult to injury: "Nobles should note: 'nobility' does not equate to 'well-maintained equipment.'"
Meanwhile, outside the council hall, Nora stood quietly on the highest observation platform, holding another luminous stone—the Alchemical Authorization Core left by her mother years ago.
This was the true key to connecting to the Elemental Consciousness Network, relying not on bloodlines or surnames, but simply on a mind capable of understanding the language of this world.
She raised her hand and softly chanted an incantation. The Oracle Stone trembled violently, and golden light burst forth into the sky.
A divine figure emerged in the air, lacking the visage of royalty, instead presenting a neutral, vague yet gentle silhouette. Its voice drifted down like a soft breeze:
“May you no longer be limited by your origins; may your magic stem from thought rather than blind obedience.”
The crowd below erupted in astonishment.
“Isn’t that the Lancer Bloodline Deity?”
“Is the deity ‘re-signing’?”
“Does this mean... a change of kings?”
Yet Nora simply lowered the glowing stone in her hand calmly.
“I do not wish to ascend the throne,” she said softly. “I only hope it no longer serves as a door that shuts others out.”
Elias Thorn approached from behind her, a barbecue wand clenched between his teeth, sparks still flying.
“You did it.”
“You taught me,” she glanced at him, “you taught me to dismantle everything others said couldn’t be dismantled.”
“Your mother taught you a thing or two as well.”
“She said to be gentler.”
“But in the end, she blew up half of the Royal Magic Workshop.”
The two exchanged smiles.
The kingdom entered a period of parliamentary restructuring. A new Academy Public Deliberation System was established, with representatives from various magical academies participating in political and legal decision-making, granting civilian magicians formal Magic Public Affairs Voting Rights.
The former Noble Exclusive Advanced Magic Library was also renamed:
Eileen Black Public Magic Literature Center.
The inscription read:
"She was not a noble, yet she changed noble magic."
Nora did not stay in the capital. She returned to Wushen Academy, continuing her teaching role in the Deviation Alchemy System, becoming the first legendary young mentor in history to "defeat the nobles without publishing a book."
The first class on her schedule was titled:
"Magic Ethics and Smiling Revenge."
The students' favorite question was, "Teacher, how did you make the princess explode during the live broadcast?"
Nora replied calmly, "Sometimes, the loudest spell is simply getting the other person to speak."
As for the Emotion Recognition Sphere Beta, it officially became the academy's "Magical Behavioral Reflection Guidance Object," abbreviated as "Complaining Ball." Its daily tasks included but were not limited to:
- Uncovering cheating during exams;
- Providing logical scoring during debates;
- Playing a compilation of students imitating noble speech during tea breaks.
It proudly declared, "I have finally become a legitimate teaching material."
On the day of conclusion, Nora and Elias Thorn rebuilt a new apparatus at her mother's former experimental station.
"What is it for?" Elias Thorn asked.
"It can transform spoken words into magical text that can be permanently preserved," Nora said.
"Oh, have you named it?"
Nora smiled and nailed a plaque inscribed with words to the center of the device:
"Remember what we have said."
