"Doctor, is the child's illness really cured? Will her future life be affected?" 0

"Don't worry. After our treatment and observation, the shadow in her heart should be completely gone. As long as she isn't subjected to major stress, she won't relapse." 0

"Xiaoyun, tell your aunt, are you still afraid of the dark?" 0

"No, I'm not." 0

"Do you dare to sleep with the lights off at night?" 0

"I do. I've been sleeping alone these past few days." 0

"Good girl. Did you have any nightmares?" 0

"No." 0

"Good child, your aunt will take you home." 0

... 0

"Beep beep beep, beep beep beep..." The phone on my bedside rang for a full two minutes. It seemed that if I didn't answer, it would keep ringing indefinitely. Without needing to guess, I knew that such persistence could only belong to Gao Jun. I sighed helplessly, stretched out my hand from under the covers, picked up the receiver, and answered with a hint of annoyance. 0

"Xiaoyun? What are you doing? Are you sleeping in again?" Sure enough, it was him. 0

"Why do you have to ask when you already know? You know I'm sleeping, yet you keep calling. You're so annoying!" I said half-jokingly. 0

"Hehe." A silly laugh came from the other end of the line, accompanied by the sound of him scratching his head. "You should get up now; just look at the time!" 0

I fumbled for my phone by the pillow and glanced at it. It was almost eleven in the morning. The weather was gloomy, and outside the window, it looked like it was only seven or eight o'clock. I felt a bit embarrassed for sleeping in so late. "Alright, I'll let you off this time. What's so urgent that you need to tell me?" 0

"Good news! I found a suitable apartment—it's nice and cheap! You need to come over quickly!" 0

Although I felt happy about the news, I replied, "No way! I'm not helping you move." 0

"I've already moved everything," Gao Jun said proudly on the other end of the line. "I knew you'd sleep in. Just come over and help me tidy up a bit. Oh, and bring some of your stuff; we can stay there today." 0

"I didn't agree to stay over," I protested. "I’ll come see it first. Where is it?" 0

I recalled how excited Gao Jun had been last week when he called me to check out another place he claimed was great and cheap, only for me to be infuriated when we arrived—it was basically a dump filled with junk. 0

"I promise you'll be satisfied with this one; once you see it, you won't want to leave. It's right on campus. Come on, I'll meet you at the school gate," Gao Jun insisted confidently. 0

His enthusiasm made me curious about this "great" apartment. "Fine, I'll be there in about an hour. You better be there to pick me up." 0

After hanging up, I freshened up and put on light makeup. Even though Gao Jun and I had been together for a long time, I still wanted to make a good impression every time we met. Once I finished getting ready, I hurriedly packed some of my essentials and rushed downstairs; time was running short, and I didn’t want Gao Jun to complain about my punctuality again. 0

In this city, most universities are concentrated in the city center along College Road, but Gao Jun's Art Academy is located at the foot of Qingfeng Mountain on the outskirts. Since we started dating, Gao Jun had been living in the academy's dormitory, which meant that every time we met, it took us at least half an hour to bike there—quite inconvenient. However, that wasn’t our main reason for wanting to rent a place together. 0

Gao Jun would graduate with his master's degree in two months; after waiting two years for this moment, could we not endure a few more days? The reason for moving in together was that Gao Jun wanted me as a model for his graduation project. In his words: "We need to find a quiet place where we won’t be disturbed; I want to pour all my love for you into this painting and create a groundbreaking masterpiece!" Although I teased him for being arrogant, my heart felt sweet, and I truly believed he had the talent to do so. 0

Turning around the south wall of the Art Academy, I spotted Gao Jun leaning casually against his Giant Mountain Bike. Even when still, Gao Jun exuded a unique aura typical of an artist, one that captivated me deeply. He noticed me as well and excitedly waved his arm. With a beaming smile on his face, he seemed like an innocent big boy, full of youthful exuberance. 0
