The entire mountain trembled with a deafening roar. Mo Wen, who had been focused on the scenery, stumbled and nearly fell face-first onto the rocky ground. He quickly averted his gaze from the outside and began assembling his Xing Zhou within the small stone chamber. According to his original design, if successful, this Xing Zhou would be at least twice as fast as the one he had purchased from Huo Lou, and most importantly, it would have an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
The storm outside intensified, with massive waves crashing against the Mountain Body where Mo Wen was located. The mountain creaked ominously under the impact, as if it might collapse at any moment. Fragments of stone began to fall from the ceiling of Mo Wen's chamber, and lava had already reached the entrance of the cave. This was the lowest point where the surrounding lava was pooled, and above, strong winds swept away Demon Beasts.
Two days later, Mo Wen could no longer see what was happening outside. His cave had become submerged in lava, with only occasional glimpses of struggling Demon Beasts being swept past his entrance. He was not worried about his location collapsing; if it were to fall, it would be the entire mountain that crumbled. Even if it did collapse, he could still take refuge inside his Lava Skiff and dive into the depths of the lava. According to his understanding, while the Lava Sea's bottom might be affected, it would not be as turbulent as the surface.
Several days' journey away from Mo Wen, a massive wave was forming—this was the largest wave of the storm. Its crest reached up to the dome above, and when it made contact with the molten rock at the continental bottom, it quickly solidified, thickening the dome. The wave surged forward with overwhelming force, destroying any "stone pillars" in its path. Behind this wave were enormous Fire Tornadoes that continuously drew in lava from below to form new giant stone pillars that supported the continent above.
Five days later, this colossal wave reached Mo Wen's location. Compared to five days prior, it had weakened significantly; however, its immense impact struck the Mountain Body where Mo Wen's cave was located. It felt as though the Mountain Body had shifted; cracks appeared due to the force of the impact. Yet these cracks were quickly filled and sealed by the rushing lava that followed. The tremendous vibrations forced Mo Wen to pause his work on assembling the Xing Zhou and look outside. All he could see was lava—lava that carried struggling Demon Beasts whose fates were uncertain. Additionally, there were some large materials polished smooth by the waves; these materials began to sink as the lava slowed down.
The tunnel Mo Wen had carved also started to crack, with lava seeping in from outside. Fortunately, a Magic Circle provided some protection; otherwise, his carved tunnel would have surely become his burial site. Although he could move around in the lava for a short time, he had no idea how long the waves and fierce winds would last outside. At that moment, lava filled everything from the dome above to the ocean floor.
After observing the situation outside, Mo Wen became busy again. He retrieved Beast Tendons from his storage space to begin refining them; whether he could gain something after the waves receded depended on these Beast Tendons. All of them had been obtained through hunting in the Lava Sea. After preparing the Beast Tendons, he took out a Skeleton he had acquired in Lava Bat Cave. By then, it was already a skeleton; its bones were as white as jade and seemed special enough for him to keep at that time. Now examining it closely, Mo Wen determined that this Demon Beast had transcended before its death based on the lingering aura on its bones. What he needed to do now was refine this Skeleton into a cage and attach prepared ropes to it for retrieving items from beneath the sea.
