Jiang Chen, Zeng Xianyi, and Li Yang discussed matters regarding deities and demons. It was clear that both Zeng Xianyi and Li Yang remained skeptical. After all, in modern society, such topics are difficult to accept with just a few words. This skepticism is understandable; even in the world of martial arts, it is hard to believe in the existence of true immortals. Li Yang was one such person. His newfound respect for Jiang Chen stemmed from firsthand experience. After finishing their meal, darkness enveloped the sky.
“Mr. Jiang, Director Li, Comrade Zeng, it's still early. How about we take a night tour of Tuojiang?” Liao Yangmai suggested.
“That sounds great,” Jiang Chen nodded in agreement.
Under the sparse moonlight, a pleasure boat glided slowly along Tuojiang. The night scene of Fenglin City was vibrant with lights, and numerous bonfire parties were taking place along the riverbank, creating a lively atmosphere.
“Xiangxi is truly a wonderful place for retirement. If I ever retire, I would definitely spend some time here,” Zeng Xianyi remarked with a smile.
“Indeed, such places should not allow outsiders to run rampant,” Li Yang concurred.
“Li Brother, however, Huaxia is filled with hidden talents. Beneath this calm surface, I fear there are undercurrents we cannot control,” Zeng Xianyi said thoughtfully, his gaze fixed on Jiang Chen standing on the deck of the boat.
“I’m not worried about Huaxia; my concern lies abroad. The recent incident with the Holy Witch Cult has taught us a lesson. Brother Yi, I think your Dragon Martial Institute should play a more significant role. The greatest martial arts forces in Huaxia are those Hidden Sects and families. You should bring them under your wing; if any martial arts issues arise, invite them to assist us. After all, those Hidden Sects are the true inheritors of Huaxia Martial Arts and far stronger than your Martial Arts Special Forces,” Li Yang whispered.
“Let it go; those Hidden Sects won’t give me face. As long as they don’t cause trouble, that’s enough for me. Besides, having Mr. Jiang on my side is sufficient. If I were to say that Mr. Jiang alone could rival all the Hidden Sects and families combined, would you believe it, Li Brother?” Zeng Xianyi chuckled.
“I’m starting to believe it now. This Mr. Jiang has indeed surprised and shocked me; however, he seems rather reckless and hard to manage,” Li Yang said quietly as he leaned closer to Zeng Xianyi.
“That’s what I’m worried about too. Thankfully, he has accepted the position of Chief Instructor for the Martial Arts Special Forces. Once we handle matters in Xiangxi and return to the capital, I will officially grant him the rank of Major General. With that status, he will be an official figure; as long as he holds that identity, I believe he won’t overstep certain boundaries,” Zeng Xianyi replied.
Jiang Chen paid no mind to Zeng Xianyi and Li Yang's hushed conversation; even if he overheard them, he would simply smile it off. It was normal for officials to have concerns, but Jiang Chen asked himself if his actions would be detrimental to Huaxia—and he felt no guilt.
He had eliminated those who needed to be dealt with without affecting the overall situation in Huaxia. Furthermore, as long as Jiang Chen existed, Huaxia would surely gain prominence among countless races in the universe in the future.
