After nearly a week of intense struggle, when the Sony Cassette Recorder, deemed "foreign junk," finally flowed with clear and pleasant music in Jiang Tao's hands, he felt as if he had won a grueling battle, filled with an indescribable sense of accomplishment. 0

Although his mental energy was nearly drained, leaving him wanting nothing more than to lie down and sleep for three days and nights, the joy of overcoming this technical hurdle was like the most invigorating stimulant, making his eyes sparkle with excitement. 0

"Done! These little devils' stuff is just so-so! The structure is intricate, but isn't the principle the same? As long as I understand it, I can fix it! Let’s see who dares to say that I, Jiang Ji, can only repair domestic junk!" 0

He carefully wiped the repaired Recorder clean and placed it in the most prominent spot on his workbench, like displaying a newly earned medal. This was not just a successful repair; it was an important testament to his technical prowess and a source of confidence against future challenges. 0

Just as he took a sip of water and prepared to rest for a moment, a slightly anxious voice came from the shop entrance: "Excuse me, is Master Jiang here?" 0

Jiang Tao looked up to see a young man dressed in a stylish jacket with trendy medium-length hair, exuding an air of superiority. He was holding a Sony Recorder identical to the one on the table and peering curiously inside. 0

"That's me," Jiang Tao replied as he stood up. 0

"Oh great! Master Jiang!" The young man's eyes lit up as he hurried in, placing the Recorder on the counter with a distressed expression. "You have to help me! This treasure of mine was working fine just a few days ago, but suddenly it stopped making any sound! I’ve been to several places, and they all said they couldn’t fix it! Even the Friendship Store said it had to be sent back to Japan—who knows how long that would take! I heard you have the best skills here and specialize in difficult cases. Can you take a look?" 0

Jiang Tao examined the familiar machine and then glanced at the young man's anxious face, secretly amused: "It seems like someone is delivering a pillow just when I need to sleep." 0

He picked up the Recorder and pretended to inspect it carefully before plugging it in to test it. Sure enough, there was no sound. He had an idea of what might be wrong but didn’t reveal it immediately. Instead, he asked, "How do you usually use this machine? Has it ever been dropped or exposed to moisture?" 0

The young man shook his head vigorously. "No, no! I take good care of it! After listening, I always cover it with a cloth..." 0

Jiang Tao nodded, already having about seventy or eighty percent certainty in his mind. The machine he had just repaired had issues with an aging pressure roller and a burnt voltage regulator. Additionally, there was a common problem where an internal volume control IC could easily suffer from cold solder joints. This issue wasn’t major but typically scared off most repair technicians due to its imported integrated circuit. 0

Feigning contemplation for a moment, he said, "Hmm... my initial assessment is that the problem might lie in the internal amplifier or control circuit. This imported machine has a complex structure and special parts; repairing it can indeed be troublesome and risky. However..." He shifted his tone, "Since you've come to me, I can't let your trip be in vain. I'll do my best to give it a try. But the repair fee won't be cheap; after all, it's an imported item and a difficult case." 0

"Money isn't an issue! As long as you can fix it!" The young man immediately patted his chest in assurance. "Just tell me how much!" 0

Jiang Tao held up five fingers: "This amount." 0

"Fifty?" The young man thought that was somewhat expensive but remembered that this Recorder had cost several hundred when he bought it. It was something he cherished. After hesitating for a moment, he gritted his teeth and said, "Fine! Fifty it is! Just make sure you can fix it!" 0

"Great! Please have a seat and grab some water while you wait." 0
