Jiang Tao furrowed his brows. "The hardness doesn't meet the standards? What happened? Let me see the samples."
Wang Hao handed over a few steel balls. Jiang Tao took them in his hand and concentrated his Mental Power to carefully "scan" them. Instantly, the microscopic structure and energy feedback of the steel balls appeared in his mind.
"Sure enough... there was a deviation in the quenching energy control, resulting in an insufficiently dense internal crystal structure." He quickly identified the problem. These steel balls had been produced a couple of days ago when he was not fully focused, and it turned out there was indeed a mistake.
"I've found the issue," Jiang Tao said. "Seal all these defective ones. Have the workshop pause the production line for steel balls until I readjust the energy parameters. Inform the bicycle factory that we've proactively raised our inspection standards to ensure quality, and we've discovered a minor flaw that we're currently addressing. We will definitely deliver by the day after tomorrow at the latest, and quality is absolutely guaranteed!"
"Got it!" Wang Hao replied and left.
Jiang Tao sighed. It seemed that manufacturing with Ability wasn't foolproof; his mental state directly affected product quality. Just as he was about to calm down and simulate the adjustment of energy parameters in his mind, the phone on his desk rang again.
It was Old Master Liu calling from the shop: "Boss, Liu from the Equipment Department at City People's Hospital called. They said their imported blood analyzer has malfunctioned again and specifically requested you to take a look; it's quite urgent!"
"The blood analyzer?" Jiang Tao rubbed his temples; that was a big machine, very precise, and it hadn't been long since it was last repaired.
"Alright, I understand. I'll head over as soon as I finish up here at the workshop."
After hanging up, Jiang Tao felt a bit overwhelmed. Just as he was about to focus on resolving the issue with the steel balls, Lin Wei's call came through.
"Hello, Weiwei, what's up?"
"Jiang Tao, can you come home early tonight? Xiaodong's kindergarten teacher said he got into a fight with some kids today, and we need to go over there tonight..." Lin Wei's voice carried a hint of helplessness and anxiety.
"A fight? That little rascal!" Jiang Tao couldn't help but chuckle despite himself. "Alright, I got it. I'll hurry back after handling things at the hospital."
The morning passed in a flurry of various tasks—some work-related, some family matters—that left him feeling almost breathless. He truly realized that as his career expanded and his family became complete, the accompanying "sweet burdens" were indeed not light.
"In the past, I was just a lone wolf; as long as I had enough to eat, my family wouldn't go hungry. Now I'm a boss, a husband, and a father—each role must be fulfilled without fail. It's tiring, but..." He glanced at the photo of Lin Wei and their children on his desk, a gentle smile spreading across his face. "This burden is one I'm happy to bear!"
He gathered his spirits and focused on readjusting and solidifying the optimal energy parameters for manufacturing the steel balls in his mind before notifying Wang Hao to resume production. Then he hurried off to City People's Hospital.
At the hospital, using his Ability and experience, he quickly pinpointed the cause of the blood analyzer's malfunction—it wasn't an issue with the machine itself but rather unstable voltage from the hospital that caused erroneous readings from a sensitive sensor. He explained this to Liu and suggested installing a voltage stabilizer. Liu was enlightened and praised Jiang Tao for his professionalism and responsible attitude.
By the time he left the hospital, it was already past four in the afternoon. Jiang Tao didn't have time to return to the company; instead, he rode his motorcycle straight to Xiaodong's kindergarten. Together with Lin Wei, they spoke with the teacher to understand what had happened before picking up their two younger children to take home.
That evening, after dinner and putting the kids to bed, Jiang Tao finally had some time alone with Lin Wei.
Lin Wei brought him a cup of hot tea and said with concern, "You've been so busy today; you hardly took any breaks. As your company grows larger, there are more things to handle. You can't do everything yourself; you need to let Old Liu and Wang Hao take care of some tasks."
Jiang Tao held her hand gently. "I know. We're just getting started; I feel uneasy about many things if I'm not keeping an eye on them. Don't worry; once our team matures a bit more, I'll delegate daily tasks so I can spend more time with you all."
"Mm." Lin Wei leaned against his shoulder. "Honestly, I think we're doing just fine now. As long as we have enough money for our needs, safety is what matters most."
Jiang Tao wrapped his arms around his wife, savoring this simple yet genuine happiness that filled him with peace. He understood Lin Wei's worries as well as the responsibilities resting on his shoulders.
"Yes, safety is the most important thing," he silently said to himself. "But in this world, merely wishing for peace is not enough; one must have enough strength to protect that peace. For you all, I must become stronger and establish a more solid foundation, so I can face any storm without fear."
Balancing career and family, tackling market challenges, exploring unknown territories... Jiang Tao knew that this "sweet burden" would continue to be his responsibility, and he embraced it willingly.
