Heavy rain poured down, but as it approached Jiang Chen, an invisible force repelled it, leaving him unharmed, not even a hair out of place. The members of the Holy Witch Cult felt a chill run through them as they looked into the darkness, searching for their leader, but found no trace.
"Mr. Jiang, is the Saint Witch Sect Leader alright?" Zeng Xianyi quickly asked.
"The flesh has already merged with the river; the fish in Tuojiang can enjoy a bit of delicacy now," Jiang Chen replied with a smile, then turned his gaze towards Zou Konghu and the others.
Upon hearing Jiang Chen's words, Zeng Xianyi, Li Yang, and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief. The death of the Holy Witch Cult leader meant that the crisis in Xiangxi was effectively resolved.
However, Zou Konghu and Shi Tao Di turned pale; Shi Tao Di's legs buckled, and he fell onto the deck. His last shred of hope had been completely shattered.
The higher-ups of the Holy Witch Cult were left in a daze; they had never anticipated such an outcome. Since their leader's return from seclusion a year ago, the Holy Witch Cult had been unstoppable in Southeast Asia, sweeping away all Witch Clans. But now that their leader was dead, they found it impossible to accept.
Seeing Jiang Chen look their way, Zou Konghu and the others instinctively recoiled in fear.
"There are plenty of fish in Tuojiang; I doubt your leader could feed them all by himself," Jiang Chen said.
Only those who understood Huaxia Language grasped Jiang Chen's meaning. Zou Konghu's expression shifted dramatically as he suddenly became fierce.
"Heh, we of the Holy Witch Cult are not soft-hearted. Even if you kill our leader, don’t think we will submit. We’ll fight to the death for revenge!" Zou Konghu declared angrily, his tone resolute and filled with a sense of defiance.
However, Zou Konghu's impassioned speech did not elicit any support, especially from those Southeast Asian Witch Clan leaders who had recently joined the Holy Witch Cult. They had already been dissatisfied with the cult's tyrannical rule; now that their leader was dead, they naturally chose to turn against them. The Southeast Asian Witch Clan leaders led by Sang Xiang began to defect one after another.
Sang Xiang could speak some Huaxia Language since many of his businesses came from Huaxia. In certain circles within Huaxia, Sang Xiang was revered almost like a deity. The art of cursing was considered even more sinister and bizarre than witchcraft in some aspects.
"Jiang, Mr. Jiang, I’m not one of them! I was forced into this! I’m a White Sorcerer from Malaysia; they recently occupied my house and made me help them do bad things. I’m a good person," Sang Xiang pleaded with a pitiful expression.
Jiang Chen glanced at Sang Xiang; he didn’t look like a good person at all, but there was no need for Jiang Chen to kill him.
"Those who are not part of the Holy Witch Cult, step over here," Jiang Chen instructed.
Sang Xiang and his group quickly moved to where Jiang Chen pointed. In the end, only about ten members of the Holy Witch Cult remained.
Zou Konghu’s face turned ashen; he realized that no matter what happened now, he was doomed to die. Since death was inevitable, it was better to die standing than kneeling.
Zou Konghu wanted to die standing, but the others from the Holy Witch Cult lacked such resolve. An elder supporting Zou Konghu suddenly threw him to the ground and tried to slip into Sang Xiang’s group.
"What are you doing?" Sang Xiang shouted angrily.
"I—I was also forced to join the Holy Witch Cult a few years ago! Master Sang Xiang, I used to be a White Sorcerer too; we are fellow practitioners!" this elder said with a sycophantic smile.
