The living room light was still on, and there were DVDs of movies we had watched together lying on the sofa. Everything looked so normal yet felt so foreign. All of this was no longer my concern.
During my days in the detention center, I felt like a walking corpse. Every day when I opened my eyes and stared at the unfamiliar ceiling, I would momentarily think I was dreaming.
I killed Liu Yun. I personally killed my wife whom I had loved for thirteen years.
The prosecutor's office quickly brought charges against me.
