I tiptoed to the door, took a deep breath, and then opened it. 0

Lai Shenglin stood at the entrance, wearing a brand new shirt and holding a bouquet of flowers, clearly here for a date. 0

When he saw me covered in blood, the smile on his face instantly froze. 0

"Zhu... Zhu Quan? What happened? Why are you here? Where's A Mei?" 0

"Come in and see for yourself," I said, stepping aside to let him in, my voice surprisingly calm. 0

Lai Shenglin eyed me warily, hesitated for a moment, but eventually stepped inside. 0

As he took in the bloodstains all over the room and the three corpses, he seemed struck by lightning, frozen in place. 0

"You... you killed them?" His voice trembled, his face pale. 0

I nodded slowly, closed the door, locked it, and turned to him. "Do you know what she said, Lai Shenglin? She said the child isn't mine." 0

Lai Shenglin stepped back in panic. "Zhu Quan, calm down. Let's talk this through. You've already killed three people; you can't..." 0

"Do you know?" I emphasized each word as I advanced toward him. 0

Cold sweat broke out on Lai Shenglin's forehead as he backed into a corner with nowhere to escape. "I... I don't know; I really don't know..." 0

"Liar!" 0

I suddenly shouted, "Do you dare say you didn’t know? Do you dare say that after all this time sneaking around with A Mei behind my back, you had no idea about this?" 0

Lai Shenglin finally broke down, kneeling on the ground and pleading for mercy. "Zhu Quan, brother, I was wrong; I truly realize my mistake. A Mei seduced me; she said... she said she never liked you and that it was her idea... Please let me go..." 0

"Let you go?" I scoffed coldly. "Just like you let me go?" 0

A glimmer of hope flashed in Lai Shenglin's eyes. "Yes, yes! We’re brothers! I know I was wrong; I won't dare again..." 0

I crouched down to meet his gaze. "Lai Shenglin, the biggest regret of my life is knowing you." 0

Before the words left my lips, the shard of porcelain in my hand had already pierced his throat. 0

Lai Shenglin's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at me, his hands clutching his bleeding neck while making gurgling sounds. 0

He struggled for a few moments before quickly going still. 0

I stood up numbly and gazed at the four corpses before me. 0

The humiliation of six years seemed to find its release in that moment. 0

I dragged my heavy footsteps to the sofa and sat down, picking up the phone. "110, I've killed someone." 0

I don't know how long it was before there was a knock on the door followed by the sound of sirens. 0

"Police! Open up!" 0

I remained still, just sitting there in silence. 0

When the officers broke through the door, they were met with the sight of four bodies lying in their own pools of blood, while I sat on the sofa, covered in blood and motionless. 0

"Oh my God..." a young police officer gasped. 0

I lifted my head and stared blankly at them. "I killed them... I killed them all..." 0

Just like that, I was handcuffed and led to the police car. 0

Everything was over. 0

In the interrogation room, my hands were tightly secured in handcuffs, and my wrists had already begun to bleed, but I felt no pain. 0

Two detectives sat across from me. 0

"Zhu Quan, why did you kill those four people?" 0

I raised my head, my gaze vacant. "I just wanted a home, a home that respected me. They took everything from me... my dignity, even my son..." 0

"Tell us what happened," the young detective said as he handed me a glass of water. 0

I mechanically took the glass but didn't drink a single drop. 0
