He is always so gentle. Back in the day, there were plenty of handsome guys pursuing me, and Su Qing often said that Chen Zimo was plain-looking and unworthy of me. But I couldn't help but fall for his gentle and considerate nature. He would say, "Lin Xi, my tenderness is only for you." Looking back now, it seems like a huge joke. He is just as gentle with other women.
In a corner of my heart, something feels completely shattered.
Divorce. It’s a must. But I can’t let them get off easy.
That night, Chen Zimo came home reeking of alcohol. I handed him his slippers as usual and helped him to the sofa. He instinctively pulled me into an embrace, burying his head in my neck, his warm breath brushing against my skin.
"Lin Xi, I miss you so much. Next time I go on a business trip, I’ll definitely take you with me," he began to sweet-talk me, his hands becoming restless.
I knew exactly what he wanted. The thought that those hands had once caressed another woman made me feel nauseous, and I pushed him away forcefully.
He was taken aback, looking somewhat displeased. "What’s wrong, wife? Is it because I came back late?"
I forced a smile. "Go take a shower first; you smell."
I pushed him into the bathroom and returned to the bedroom, turning off the lights and pretending to sleep.
When he came out and saw me "asleep," he quietly climbed into bed on the other side, turning his back to me while playing on his phone before finally drifting off.
Once his breathing steadied, I quietly picked up his phone. I tried my birthday and our anniversary, but neither worked. A cold smile crept onto my face as I entered Bai Ruo's birthday.
It unlocked.
In WeChat, there was an account with a raindrop emoji as its nickname. Opening the Moments revealed countless posts of them flaunting their love—selfies from various angles with overly sweet captions.
I quickly added Bai Ruo using a secondary account before placing the phone back where it belonged. That night, I kept my eyes wide open until dawn.
The next day, I made an excuse about Su Qing going through a breakup and needing to accompany her for a few days. Su Qing had indeed just split up, but she changed boyfriends more often than she changed clothes; she didn’t need any consolation at all.
Chen Zimo didn’t suspect anything and even drove me to Su Qing's apartment.
As soon as I walked in, Su Qing noticed my unusual expression. I didn’t hide anything from her and told her everything in detail.
Su Qing exploded on the spot: "What the hell! Chen Zimo is such a jerk! I knew he wasn’t a good guy! Lin Xi, you have to leave! You must leave! I'll introduce you to a dozen better guys!"
"I definitely need to leave," I held onto the excited Su Qing, "but there’s no rush; I won’t lose anything that belongs to me. Also, we need to send that pair of dogs a 'big gift.'"
Su Qing's eyes lit up with excitement as she rubbed her hands together. "Sounds good! Let’s do it quickly! What’s the plan? Tell me!"
I leaned in close to her ear and whispered my thoughts…
During those days at Su Qing's place, I kept busy. I reorganized the evidence provided by the detective and had Su Qing help me find a divorce lawyer to confirm that this evidence would be enough to make Chen Zimo pay dearly.
I organized a detailed document about Bai Ruo and Zhi San Dang San still being pregnant, complete with various pieces of evidence and photos.
I was exhausted from pretending with him, so I decided it was time to lay everything on the table and settle this quickly.
I called Chen Zimo: "Come home early tonight; I need to talk to you."
There was a brief pause on his end. "What happened?"
"Nothing much, we'll talk when you get back." I hung up without waiting for a response.
Driving home, I changed into a beautiful dress and put on some exquisite makeup. I sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, and waited for him to return.
When the door opened, Chen Zimo walked in, loosening his tie as he said, "Honey, I'm back. I've missed you."
Missed me? He probably hadn't even thought about home these past few days.
I turned off the TV and walked up to him, handing him the printed documents.
"Take a look."
