The next day, Jiang Chen and Liu Liangmei boarded a plane bound for the Treasure Island. The matters concerning the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm were significant for Jiang Chen. If it weren't for the connection between the Shuangyue Jade Pendant and the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm, he would have been reluctant to involve himself in Liu Liangmei's sect disputes.
The flight was quiet, and a few hours later, they arrived at Taoyuan International Airport. Liu Liangmei, the Master of Zhai Yue Pavilion, was quite adept at dressing up. Although she was in her fifties, her exquisite makeup and fashionable attire made her look striking, even with a sun hat and sunglasses that could not hide her charm, attracting glances from several men.
In contrast, Jiang Chen maintained a casual appearance, standing beside Liu Liangmei with little presence.
"Mr. Jiang, let's find a hotel to settle down first. Today is my junior sister's fiftieth birthday, and there will be a birthday banquet at her private residence tonight. I need to congratulate her properly," Liu Liangmei said.
"It’s important to offer congratulations; it might be her last birthday," Jiang Chen replied with a faint smile.
Liu Liangmei was not particularly surprised by Jiang Chen's words and chose not to elaborate further; she had already given up on her junior sister completely. If Jiang Chen were to take action against someone, Liu Liangmei would likely not intervene.
Once they settled into the hotel, it was still early. Liu Liangmei invited Jiang Chen to explore Bao Bei City, the capital of Treasure Island Province. The city was distinct from inland cities, with its unique customs and culture worth experiencing. Since they were there, Jiang Chen naturally agreed to take a look around.
"Mr. Jiang, is it awkward for you to accompany this old woman shopping?" Liu Liangmei asked as they walked along an ancient street, noticing Jiang Chen's silence.
"Uh, is your age really that significant?" Jiang Chen replied, pulling his gaze from ahead as he spoke absentmindedly.
"Not significant?" Liu Liangmei paused slightly in surprise.
"Not at all; you’re just in your fifties," Jiang Chen said dismissively.
"At this age, women start to age after thirty; I’m already over fifty," Liu Liangmei lamented.
"You don’t look old; you seem no older than thirty. I noticed quite a few young men glancing at you as we walked," Jiang Chen smiled.
Liu Liangmei stared at him in astonishment for a few seconds before regaining her composure and laughing, "Mr. Jiang, I didn’t expect you to joke! I thought you always had a cold demeanor."
"Liu Pavilion Master, you’re actually colder than I am; even Ye Jian Sheng seems a bit afraid of you," Jiang Chen chuckled.
"I just prefer not to engage too much with others, especially men. My master always told me not to trust any man or fall in love because love can ruin one’s life," Liu Liangmei explained.
"Your Master is right; love can indeed destroy a person," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"Mr. Jiang, do you also agree with my master’s words?" Liu Liangmei asked in surprise.
"Your Master makes very valid points; I certainly agree. However," Jiang Chen began but suddenly paused and looked at Liu Liangmei intently.
Liu Liangmei felt a bit shy under Jiang Chen's gaze, her cheeks warming slightly. However, she pretended to be calm, reaching up to tuck a strand of hair that had fallen onto her forehead behind her ear. She asked steadily, "What do you mean?"
"Well, experiencing love once isn't a big deal. Of course, you're still very young, so it doesn't matter if you wait to taste the sweetness of love later," Jiang Chen replied.
Liu Liangmei stared blankly at Jiang Chen, feeling as if he was speaking nonsense with a serious expression.
