Lou Yijing had a remarkable presence; with a single word, she silenced the crowd. Even though it was painful, no one dared to cry out.
"Mr. Jiang, I underestimated you. I didn't expect someone so young to possess such remarkable skills; you truly are impressive. However, being by Liu Liangmei's side is a bit of a waste for your talents," Lou Yijing said, collecting her thoughts and looking at Jiang Chen with a charming smile.
Jiang Chen ignored Lou Yijing's provocation and asked calmly, "I heard that the Shuangyue Jade Pendant is in your possession. I would like to see it."
His words were direct, his gaze steady on Lou Yijing. Despite her flirtatious demeanor, she could not shake Jiang Chen's calm resolve.
"The Shuangyue Jade Pendant?" Upon hearing Jiang Chen mention it suddenly, Lou Yijing's expression turned sharp and cold.
While the Shuangyue Jade Pendant might not hold much value for her at the moment, it was of great significance to Lou Yijing; it was the treasure of Zhai Yue Pavilion and a relic of their heritage. Even for a hundred billion, she would never sell it.
"The Shuangyue Jade Pendant is just an ordinary jade pendant, nothing special. Mr. Jiang, if you're interested in treasures, I have quite a collection. As long as you stay by my side, you can choose any of my treasures," Lou Yijing offered Jiang Chen an olive branch.
"I'm not particularly interested in your other treasures; my sole interest lies with the Shuangyue Jade Pendant. I came here specifically for it and intend to have it. You should just hand it over; there’s nothing I cannot obtain," Jiang Chen said flatly. If anyone else had said such words, they might have been laughed at, but when Jiang Chen spoke them, they sent ripples through the crowd.
Lou Yijing's delicate brows furrowed once more, her expression darkening. Jiang Chen's tone was somewhat domineering.
Initially, seeing Jiang Chen's impressive martial arts skills might have led Lou Yijing to consider giving him some face if he had lowered his stance. After all, she didn't want things to turn unpleasant today. However, Jiang Chen was far too arrogant.
"Mr. Jiang, at such a young age to have such profound martial arts skills is indeed commendable and gives you some right to be proud. But pride must be measured by the occasion and the person. Being overly proud in front of me could lead to trouble; do you really think you’re qualified to oppose me?" Lou Yijing sneered.
"Did Liu Liangmei not explain my strength to you when she came with you? She isn't even my opponent; how much chance do you think you have against me?" Lou Yijing continued.
"Lou Yijing, you're mistaken. While I may not be your match, I'm certainly not Mr. Jiang's opponent either. You just witnessed a glimpse of Mr. Jiang's power; you should obediently hand over the Shuangyue Jade Pendant as a gift," Liu Liangmei interjected.
"Hmph, Liu Liangmei, don't compare me to you. Just because you're not his match doesn't mean I am not," Lou Yijing replied sternly. In the hall filled with her disciples and guests, she couldn't afford to lose face.
"Overestimating yourself," Liu Liangmei shook her head slightly.
"Very well then; I shall test Mr. Jiang's abilities myself," Lou Yijing declared with even more arrogance than Liu Liangmei.
Jiang Chen and Liu Liangmei had nearly clashed during their first meeting; now that he was facing Liu Liangmei again, a confrontation was inevitable. Only through force could one command respect.
Lou Yijing flicked her Soft Sword, which crackled ominously.
"Mr. Jiang, prepare for my strike!" Lou Yijing called out sharply before launching her attack swiftly; the Soft Sword moved with an eerie grace like a snake, capable of turning mid-strike to kill.
