Luna knew it was time to reveal the truth.
The small figure appeared particularly resolute as she walked down the empty corridor, heading straight for Aelia's room.
Pushing the door open, a faint sadness filled the air. Aelia sat alone by the window, her silhouette lonely and desolate.
"Madam," Luna's youthful voice broke the silence.
Aelia looked up, her gaze complex as she regarded Luna, a mix of distance and a barely perceptible hint of expectation in her eyes.
Taking a deep breath, Luna spoke slowly with a clear child's voice, "Madam, Leonard... he has another woman outside."
The air seemed to freeze.
Aelia's face instantly turned pale. She jumped to her feet, disbelief etched across her features as she stared at Luna, her voice trembling, "What... what did you say? Impossible! This can't be true!"
Luna met her gaze firmly and nodded, "It's true, Madam. I saw it with my own eyes—he was kissing Isabella in the garden."
Aelia clutched her chest, as if it were bearing an unbearable weight.
"No... I don't believe it! Leonard would never do this to me! No way!" she cried out, her tone laced with desperation, as if hoping Luna would tell her this was just a joke.
Luna remained silent, simply watching her.
"Qin Si!" Aelia suddenly shouted, her voice sharp and trembling.
Qin Si rushed in upon hearing the commotion, and was taken aback by Aelia's pale face. "Madam, what’s wrong?"
Aelia grabbed Qin Si's hand tightly, her voice trembling as she questioned, "Tell me, Qin Si! Tell me this isn't true! Leonard... he hasn't betrayed me, has he?"
Qin Si looked into Aelia's hopeful eyes, her heart filled with anguish.
She knew she could no longer keep it a secret.
Lowering her head, she spoke in a somber tone, "Madam... it’s true. I... I’ve known for a long time."
"What?!" Aelia seemed struck by lightning, abruptly releasing Qin Si's hand. Her body swayed slightly before she helplessly collapsed into a chair.
"You... you all knew? I was the only one kept in the dark?!" she murmured to herself.
Scenes from the past emerged in her mind—those once sweet moments, those promises that now felt so ironic.
She recalled Leonard's gentle gaze upon her, every little thing he had done for her, and the countless beautiful nights they had shared together.
But now, all of it had turned into lies, into deceit.
Tears streamed down like broken pearls from her eyes, soaking her clothing.
She covered her face and began to cry out loud.
"Why? Why did he do this to me? What did I do wrong?!" Her cries were filled with pain and despair, breaking the hearts of anyone who heard them.
At that moment, a hurried sound of footsteps approached, and Leonard pushed the door open and walked in.
He was taken aback by the oppressive atmosphere in the room and by Aelia, who was sitting in a chair, crying. He quickly asked, “Aelia, what’s wrong? What happened?”
Aelia suddenly lifted her head, her eyes filled with hatred as she hoarsely questioned him, “Leonard! Tell me! Is this all true?! Do you have another woman outside?!”
Leonard's face instantly turned pale. His gaze flickered, unable to meet Aelia's eyes. “Aelia, what… what are you talking about? How could I…”
“Still trying to deny it?!” Aelia roared, standing up abruptly and rushing to Leonard, grabbing his collar. “You liar! You bastard! I saw you kissing that slut in the garden with my own eyes! Do you still want to deny it?!”
Seeing that the truth was out, Leonard tore off his facade, his eyes turning cold and ruthless. “That's right! I like Isabella! What are you going to do about it?! Did you really think I loved you? I only loved your family background and your status! You foolish woman!”
“Slap!”
A loud slap struck Leonard's face hard, causing him to turn his head and blood to trickle from the corner of his mouth.
“You… you dare hit me?!” Leonard covered his face, incredulous.
“I’m hitting you, the heartless man!” Aelia seethed with rage, raising her hand as if to strike again.
“Enough!” A commanding voice rang out as her older brother burst in, pushing a wheelchair.
“Father! How could you do this?! Can you face Mother? Can you face us?!” He glared at Leonard.
“Brother, you…” Leonard hadn’t expected his brother to show up suddenly and was momentarily at a loss for words.
“Father, what you’ve done makes it impossible for us to live with ourselves!” Second Brother rushed over, his heart aching as he looked at the weeping Mother. He turned to Leonard and urged, “Father, you should confess to Mother about the Error!”
Brother San also ran in, his expression one of confusion as he surveyed the chaotic scene.
He was shocked by Father’s betrayal and pained by Mother’s sorrow, unsure of how to respond.
“Everyone, shut up!” Leonard roared with Ailya's Roar, his anger boiling as he faced his accusing family.
“What I do is none of your business!” He glared fiercely at Aelia. “Let me make this clear, Aelia! This family is still under my control! You’d better behave yourself, or else…”
“Or else what?!” Aelia shot back, her eyes filled with determination. “Leonard, I’m telling you! I will not let you have an easy time! You will regret this!”
“Hmph! Then let’s see about that!” Leonard sneered and turned to leave.
At that moment, a voice suddenly interrupted, “Father, where are you going?”
Everyone turned to see Lucius standing at the doorway, his expression a mix of emotions as he looked at them.
He slowly walked in, his gaze shifting between Leonard and Aelia before finally resting on Aelia’s tear-streaked face.
He opened his mouth as if to say something but ultimately remained silent.
He simply stood there quietly. Lucius had arrived; this sly boy usually knew how to navigate tricky situations. Which side would he take now?
Luna squinted her eyes, as if a cunning soul resided within her small frame.
As Lucius stepped through the door, the air seemed to freeze.
He glanced at the furious Leonard and then at the tear-streaked Aelia, whose handsome face was etched with turmoil.
Ah, this scene would be difficult for anyone to navigate.
He slowly walked over to Aelia, wanting to say something but swallowing his words instead. He gently called out, "Mother..."
That single word made Aelia's tears flow even more fiercely.
She grabbed Lucius's hand and cried out, "Lucius, tell me, what should I do? What am I supposed to do?"
Lucius clasped Aelia's hand in return, feeling the chill of her skin, which sent a shiver through his heart.
He looked up at Leonard, his gaze filled with a complex mix of emotions.
Disappointment, anger, and perhaps a hint of... fear?
Leonard felt uneasy under Lucius's stare. He shot Lucius a fierce glare and barked, "Lucius, get out of here! You have no right to speak!"
Lucius ignored Leonard. He turned back to Aelia and spoke each word with utmost seriousness: "Mother, whatever decision you make, I will support you."
This statement was like a stone thrown into a calm lake, sending ripples across the surface.
“Good! Good! Good!” Aelia, as if having made a firm decision, suddenly stood up, wiping the tears from her face, her eyes becoming resolute and cold.
“Leonard, do you think I, Aelia, am easy to bully? You betrayed me, betrayed this family, and I will never let you go!” Aelia's voice was as chilling as ice, laced with a piercing coldness.
“What do you want?” Leonard narrowed his eyes, looking at Aelia dangerously.
“What do I want? Hmph!” Aelia sneered. “I want to ruin your reputation and leave you with nothing! I want you to pay for what you've done!”
“Just you?” Leonard scoffed. “Do you really think you can make any waves?”
“Why not give it a try and see?” Aelia shot back defiantly.
“Enough!” The eldest brother slammed his hand on the armrest of the wheelchair and exclaimed, “Father, Mother, stop arguing! What’s the point of this endless bickering?!”
“Eldest brother, stay out of this!” Aelia said sharply. “Today, I must make things clear! Leonard, from this day forward, you are no longer the master of this house! I will kick you out!”
“Do you dare?!” Leonard seethed with rage, stepping forward as if to grab Aelia.
“Don’t touch me!” Aelia recoiled from Leonard’s hand in disgust. “I’ve had enough! I’m tired of your hypocrisy, your deceit, your betrayal!”
“Aelia, don’t push me!” Leonard gritted his teeth.
“Push you? I intend to push you!” Aelia refused to back down. “I want you to know what happens to those who betray me!”
“Mother, please calm down!” the second brother quickly intervened. “Let’s talk this out calmly and not ruin our relationships.”
“Peace? What peace can there be between him and me?” Aelia said coldly, glaring at Leonard. “He betrayed me, he betrayed this family. What right does he have to talk about peace with me?”
Brother San stood by, at a loss. He glanced at the furious Mother and then at the grim-faced Father, unsure of whom to support.
“Shut up, all of you!” Leonard roared, surveying the room filled with family members who accused him, tried to persuade him, and even attempted to stop him. His heart was filled with anger and resentment.
“This family is under my command! None of you dare defy me!” Leonard declared.
“Is that so?” Aelia scoffed. She suddenly turned her head to look at Lucius, who stood off to the side. “Lucius, you tell us, who is in charge of this family?”
Lucius lifted his head, meeting Aelia's expectant gaze before glancing at Leonard's dark expression.
“I…” Lucius opened his mouth but found himself unable to say anything.
“Lucius, don’t be afraid! Speak your mind!” Aelia encouraged.
Taking a deep breath, Lucius slowly said, “I… I think…”
At that moment, Luna, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke up. Her youthful voice rang out clearly in the noisy room: “Madam, some things need to be decided quickly…”
