The Ghost King remained unfazed and said, "No need to panic. At my age, I have long since come to terms with things. What I worry about is only the legacy of the Ghost King Sect passed down from our ancestors. Just listen to me. After I die, you must keep it a secret and not announce my death until we reach the desolate borderlands. Then, you will inform everyone of my passing, and we will camp there for several days to mourn. Once the other sect members have crossed the wasteland, you will present my handwritten last will, expressing my wish to be buried at Fox Ridge Mountain. Otherwise, I will die with regrets." 0

As he spoke, the Ghost King reached into his robe and pulled out a sealed letter, handing it to Wan. 0

Wan's expression changed several times as he looked at the Ghost King in shock and admiration. His hand trembled slightly as he gently accepted it. 0

"If necessary, you may show this letter to others. In any case, when the time comes, feel free to shift any blame onto me; what does a dead person have to fear? Just remember one thing: you must ensure that the legacy of my Ghost King Sect is carried on and flourishes!" 0

Wan's body shook as he nodded heavily. He then knelt down and bowed deeply to the Ghost King. 0

The Ghost King seemed to release a heavy burden from his heart, letting out a long sigh. His gaze gradually became distant; it was unclear what he saw at that moment. He murmured a few words softly, saying, "What a pity... what a pity..." 0

His voice gradually faded away until it was no longer heard. 0

A day later, on a mountaintop overlooking Rainbow Valley, several figures suddenly appeared at the summit, looking down into the valley below. It was the five members of the Azure Cloud Sect, led by Ten Thousand Swords in One. 0

From their vantage point on the mountain, they could vaguely see that the once quiet valley was now bustling with people. From their clothing, it was clear that most were followers of the Demonic Cult. Everyone was in a hurry; many did not even stop but directly headed out of the valley. It was evident that these remnants of the Demonic Cult were demoralized after their defeat and were eager to put as much distance between themselves and Azure Cloud Mountain as possible. 0

The members of the Demonic Cult had committed countless atrocities on Azure Cloud Mountain, creating deep-seated enmity with the Azure Cloud Sect. Therefore, seeing those panicked Demonic Cult Monsters fleeing below made Azure Pine, Shang Zhengliang, Tian Buyi, and Zeng Shuchang all look grim, filled with an urge to rush down and slay them all. 0

However, among the five, Ten Thousand Swords in One clearly thought this through. Calmly addressing the four junior brothers, he said, "Remember, our most important task this time is to infiltrate the wilderness and ascertain the true nature of the Demon Cult Holy Temple. We should set aside other matters for now, and you must not act impulsively and ruin things, understood?" 0

The four responded in unison. Ten Thousand Swords in One looked down for a moment and suddenly said, "It's strange. Throughout our journey, although we have seen many Demonic Cult Monsters, they mostly seem to be a disorganized mob. The same goes for this gorge. Yet I have often heard that there are many sects within the Demon Cult, each with its own constraints. Shouldn't they be more organized than what we see here?" 0

Azure Pine also looked down for a moment, seemingly pondering the same issue. He said, "Senior Brother, I share this doubt. Logically speaking, while some factions among the Demonic Cult Monsters may be weak, major sects like Wandu Sect, Ghost King Sect, and Changsheng Hall shouldn't be so disbanded." 0

Zeng Shuchang interjected from the side, "Could it be that they were so frightened by our defeat at Azure Cloud Mountain that they fell apart?" 0

Azure Pine shook his head and frowned. "That shouldn't be the case." 0

After a moment of contemplation, Ten Thousand Swords in One said, "Azure Pine makes a valid point. Although the Demonic Cult Monsters are despicable, the leader behind their current situation must not be incompetent; we cannot underestimate them." After pausing briefly, he turned around and said, "These scattered soldiers are insignificant; we need not concern ourselves with them. Let us continue forward." 0

"Yes," replied Azure Pine and the others. The five then flew up on their swords and headed forward. 0

After crossing this gorge, they faced rolling foothills ahead, with green forests as far as the eye could see. After flying for about ten or so minutes, the terrain began to flatten out, and the trees gradually diminished until a plain appeared before them. Flying in the air at that moment gave a sudden sense of openness; they saw fertile fields stretching endlessly with rivers crisscrossing through them. Occasionally there were patches of trees dotting the landscape and several small villages scattered across the plain. 0

These villages had been home to local residents living around the Azure Cloud Mountain Range for many years—simple and honest people who revered the way of immortals and lived their lives rising with the sun and resting at sunset year after year. However, recently, due to the large-scale invasion of the Demon Cult into Azure Cloud Mountain, demons had rampaged through the area, causing most villagers to flee. Perhaps they would only return home once the Demon Cult followers had completely retreated. 0

From a distance, many villages on the plains were seen ablaze with flames rising high into the sky; clearly, something terrible was happening below. 0

The Azure Cloud Sect, having established itself on Azure Cloud Mountain for over two thousand years, regarded the surrounding populace as their own people. Witnessing this scene filled all five with anger and concern. 0

At the same time, once they flew out of the mountain range onto this plain, they lost the cover of elevation and became particularly conspicuous in midair. With Demonic Cult Monsters scattered all around them, it was evidently inappropriate to fly so openly; if they startled any nearby cult followers, it could lead to trouble. Therefore, Ten Thousand Swords in One signaled to everyone and soon chose an unoccupied area to land safely on the ground. 0

At this moment, everyone was no longer wearing the Azure Cloud Disciple attire, and Azure Pine had also changed into ordinary clothing. The five of them looked like common wandering cultivators, not particularly conspicuous. 0

They deliberately avoided several burning villages and walked along an ancient path heading northwest. Along the way, they did not encounter any scattered Demonic Cult followers, but the villagers and merchants who usually frequented this area were nowhere to be seen, making the surrounding wilderness appear especially desolate. 0

As they walked, Shang Zhengliang snorted with a hint of anger and said, "These Demonic Cult Monsters have killed so many innocent people this time; it's truly a sin!" 0

Tian Buliang glanced at the nearest village to them, where flames were raging and faint cries seemed to be coming from it. His expression changed, and after hesitating for a moment, he said to Ten Thousand Swords in One, "Wan Shixiong, it seems there are still people over there?" 0

Ten Thousand Swords in One paused his steps and stopped, followed by the others who turned to look at the burning village. Sure enough, after a moment, a mix of cries along with some maniacal laughter and scolding could be heard coming from that direction. 0

However, since they were still some distance away, the sounds were somewhat muffled and unclear. 0

In an instant, all eyes fell on Ten Thousand Swords in One. He remained silent for a moment before suddenly exhaling a breath of foul air and said, "If it were just an empty village being burned by these Demons, it would be one thing. But since there are innocent people suffering, we Azure Cloud Disciples cannot turn a blind eye. Let’s go take a look." 0
