As the figure walked in, we gradually recognized who it was—Bing Ge! That's right, Bing Ge is back! We saw Bing Ge panting as he walked towards the bench, and the entire venue erupted with thunderous applause to welcome Bing Ge's return. "Coach, I'm late," Bing Ge said to Teacher Qiu. "It's okay, as long as you made it here, it's not too late. How is your grandmother? Has she passed the danger period?" Teacher Qiu asked with concern. Bing Ge lowered his head and replied, "Not yet, but my dad came back this time, so I had him and Mengya stay with me while I rushed over." Hearing this from Bing Ge made Teacher Qiu extremely excited as he patted Bing Ge on the shoulder. Our previously dejected spirits were instantly lifted with Bing Ge's return. Teacher Qiu pointed to the tall guy and the handsome guy next to him and said to us, "That’s Zhao Ziyang and Sun Yi from Sangyue High School, and those two over there who are nearly 1.9 meters tall are Liang Yuhao and Li Dongdong. And there’s..." It seemed I was right; it really was those two. 0

The referee blew the whistle to start the game. Our starting lineup consisted of Zhongqi Senior (Point Guard, 177), A Fei (Shooting Guard, 18), Zhang Jun (Forward, 187), Zhang Ruizhi (Power Forward, 190), and Bing Ge (Center, 19). The opposing team’s starters were Zhao Ziyang (Point Guard, 18), Roger Tiger (Shooting Guard, 180), Liang Yuhao (Forward, 188), Zhou Mingliang (Power Forward, 190), and Sun Yi (Center, 198). In terms of height, Sangyue was slightly taller than us, especially in the paint with their two players. The referee designated Zhang Jun and Liang Yuhao for the opening jump ball. The ball was tipped by Zhang Jun into our hands, and Zhongqi Senior organized our first offense. Matched up against him was Zhao Ziyang. With the ball in hand, Zhongqi Senior swayed left and right trying to break past Zhao Ziyang. Suddenly, he made a quick stop and pivoted; for a moment, Zhao Ziyang was caught off guard. Seizing the opportunity, Zhongqi Senior drove straight to the basket for a layup—"Good!" The entire crowd erupted in cheers. As he ran back on defense, I saw a faint smile on Zhongqi Senior's face; perhaps it was because he had once again proven himself against one of the ‘Five Great Point Guards!’ 0

After the opposing team inbounded the ball, Zhao Ziyang brought it up court. Outside the three-point line, he faked a shot but was seen through by Zhongqi Senior. Just as Zhongqi Senior went in for another defensive play, Zhao Ziyang suddenly dribbled the ball down low; it bounced through Zhongqi Senior’s legs and into the hands of Liang Yuhao. In mid-air, he connected with a pass to Sun Yi, who completed a dunk! For a moment, Zhongqi Senior looked stunned before receiving an inbound pass from Bing Ge. He cut sharply at a 45-degree angle to pass to A Fei. However, as he received the ball at the arc's top, his shot was blocked by a huge swat from Sun Yi, sending it into the hands of Zhou Mingliang. He charged straight for the basket; as he collided with a returning defense from Zhang Ruizhi, both fell to the ground. The referee's whistle blew for an offensive foul on Zhou Mingliang. "How could that be an offensive foul! Clearly it was a blocking foul by the opponent!" argued Coach Fu Guoqiang. The referee maintained his call and signaled for him to return to his seat. Coach Fu lowered his head and ceased further argument because he knew that continuing would not yield any positive results. The game continued; meanwhile, A Fei effectively limited Roger Tiger, causing him frequent turnovers and missed shots while also creating opportunities for us to score. Coach Fu called a timeout to substitute out Roger Tiger, bringing in Juventus. I almost laughed out loud when I saw that name on the stats sheet; calling him Juventus would be better than calling him Inter Milan! Haha! As the first quarter neared its end, with control of the ball in his hands, at one meter away from the three-point line... he shot... and scored! The buzzer sounded as he hit a long-range three-pointer just before time expired in the first quarter. The score stood at 74; we were actually leading by three points against Sangyue High School! In this quarter, while he only attempted three shots (including that buzzer-beater), making two of them for five points total, his assists were mediocre aside from that stunning opening play. Overall, his performance could only be described as average—far below what one would expect from someone hailed as one of ‘the Five Great Point Guards!’ Given how things currently stood, he clearly wasn’t on par with someone like Jiang Lingfeng. I really couldn’t understand how he made it onto that top five list—was it just because he looked good? It seemed we had overestimated this so-called top-notch point guard. 0

"We played well today, but I still feel like the opponent is somewhat off their game; they might not be adapting well to this venue. If they gradually find their rhythm after warming up, we won’t have it as easy as we do now," analyzed Teacher Qiu. However, I felt somewhat unconvinced because aside from their height advantage in the paint, their players didn’t seem that strong overall. "Xiang Jie, you take over for A Fei at shooting guard," said Teacher Qiu. "Okay," I slowly stood up. Perhaps due to facing weaker opponents like either Roger Tiger or even Juventus, letting A Fei rest while substituting for Zhang Jun would help conserve energy. 0

The second quarter began as we stepped onto the court one after another. With an inbound pass from Bing Ge , Zhongqi Senior received it and quickly moved outside of three-point range while I ran around looking for space. Under pressure from Juventus , I passed it out to Zhang Jun . Just then, out of nowhere—before Zhang Jun could even touch the basketball—a hand reached out from behind him and intercepted it: it was Zhao Ziyang! After stealing the ball, he made a long pass ahead to Liang Yuhao running towards our end; Liang Yuhao caught it and sprinted down for an axe-style dunk! The crowd gasped in shock because Zhao Ziyang ’s quick reaction was astonishing. He high-fived Liang Yuhao as they returned downcourt together with smiles on their faces while Zhongqi Senior began looking at Zhao Ziyang with admiration. 0

After our inbound play, Zhongqi Senior brought it up court again and passed it to me at a 45-degree angle on the right wing. Facing off against Juventus 's defense made me alert; finally making a spin move left him behind me—I jumped for a three-pointer that hit off the rim! Bing Ge leaped up over Sun Yi who stood at 1.98 meters tall to grab the rebound; after landing back down he jumped again for another shot—his arm hit Sun Yi ’s raised arm during his release—the whistle blew! The ball bounced twice on the rim before falling through netting successfully completing an +1 play! Clenching his teeth tightly together in determination, Bing Ge stepped up to shoot free throws—taking a deep breath before making his first attempt… scored! After high-fiving with both Zhang Jun and Zhang Ruizhi following that successful shot, he adjusted himself slightly before taking his second shot—and scored again! The opposing coach called a timeout; Bing Ge ’s shooting touch was incredibly soft—his free throw percentage remained an astonishing 81%, which was simply terrifying. 0

After returning from timeout,Sangyue threw in an out-of-bounds pass; Zhao Ziyang quickly pushed forward towards our basket while being defended by Zhongqi Senior . With a sudden stop move that nearly left Zhongqi Senior off balance under screens set by both Liang Yuhao and Sun Yi —he managed to score! His speed truly amazed everyone around us; my previous evaluation of him after that first quarter completely flipped around: this point guard standing at 1.83 meters had quicker feet than both Zhongqi Senior and even Jiang Lingfeng! If we considered that if Jiang Lingfeng earned his spot among ‘the Five Great Point Guards!’ due primarily due to his exceptional basketball IQ then Zhao Ziyang must have secured his place based on speed and agility alone—it’s quite impressive! This guy isn’t just good-looking; his playing skills are pretty impressive too! 0

“ Xiang Jie ! Go for it!” Suddenly amidst quieter sections of our gymnasium came a girl’s high-pitched shout—it was definitely Xia Ying ! I smiled back at her while making a fist pump gesture of encouragement; glancing over at our bench where Zhou Litong along with others were watching me with mischievous grins—I felt my face flush red instantly! Turning my gaze back towards Ouyang revealed that he wasn’t nearly as excited about all this as I imagined—calmly sitting there instead—brother Ouyang must think this situation isn’t too bad! 0

The second quarter continued with both teams battling fiercely; after our inbound play Zhongqi Senior hit a three-pointer over Zhao Ziyang at zero degrees angle while Zhao Ziyang turned around assisting Sun Yi who nailed mid-range shot… This match truly felt like an intense tug-of-war! After cutting through against Juventus ’s defense allowing Zhang Jun scoring layup followed by timeout called by Teacher Qiu : “Team members! The strength of Sangyue High School is gradually showing itself now—they’ve dragged us into tough waters after their slow start during first quarter so we need strengthen our defense going forward—don’t let them score easily!” said Teacher Qiu seriously while holding onto tactical board: “ A Fei you’ll replace Xiang Jie ; Junze you’ll take over for Zhang Jun ; Zhongqi you need position yourself here…” 0

“ A Fei keep going!” shouted Sha Xiaomei throwing something onto court from outside—the moment she did so A Fei reached out catching it effortlessly then opened up revealing sweet smile upon seeing what she tossed—a heart-shaped pendant engraved with ‘fly’ just like last time when A Fei gifted one back to her earlier… “Hey now isn’t this competition time? Let’s not get all lovey-dovey here,” I teased jokingly causing him kick my leg lightly before heading back onto court. 0

Once back on court after substitutions were made—the opposing player matched against A Fei had been switched out for taller point guard named Li Dongdong standing at 187 cm while replacing Zhou Mingliang also swapped out for another taller player named Lu Lei standing at 190 cm—it became evident they were trying leverage height advantage better control inside play quality since both newcomers were solid freshmen too but unfortunately during second half when facing off against taller opponent proved challenging especially when during second quarter when Li Dongdong blocked one of A Fei's three-point attempts showcasing clear height superiority! 0

As halftime ended final score settled at 55-56—we lost four points during second quarter but thankfully not too disastrous overall! 0

Entering locker room afterwards,Teacher Qiu sighed helplessly saying: “It seems like Coach Fu Guoqiang truly lives up to reputation—Sangyue High School has indeed put significant effort into developing young players—they’re genuinely strong teams only sustained through continuous influx talent ensuring longevity rather than mere fleeting moments which is exactly what Sangyue achieved… No wait—it’s actually Fu Guoqiang who accomplished this…” Listening closely made us feel heavy-hearted hearing Teacher Qiu’s tone filled resignation: “Coach—we led by three points during first quarter yet only trailed one point during second quarter meaning gap between us & Sangyue isn’t nearly as large imagined thus still chances remain,” spoke Ouyang confidently adding: “Exactly—they’re gradually finding rhythm so if we hold strong third quarter then half success achieved already.” 0

“A big guy replaced their shooting guard making things tough on A Fei…” Due lack height among shooting guards prompted further contemplation from Teacher Qiu once again: “Coach let me go!” suddenly spoke Ji Fang who’d been quiet until now: “I’m tallest player available position two—I’ll defend Li Dongdong.” Looking directly towards Teacher Qiu added concern: “But your foot…” 0

“Coach my foot feels fine now—I experienced no discomfort during training yesterday,” Ji Fang assured confidently prompting Teacher Qiu finally relenting saying: “Alright then—you’ll take over defending Li Dongdong during third quarter!” 0

With halftime break concluded—we gathered forming circle shouting “Yulin High School let’s go!” before heading out locker room ready tackle crucial third quarter ahead since its outcome directly influences final result—Brothers let’s give our all! 0
