We arrived at Lake City Park as scheduled on the second day. Jiang Lingfeng had already been there for a while, practicing fancy moves like ball control and dribbling between his legs. It was evident how strong his adaptability was. The sun was scorching today, and by the time we practiced until ten o'clock, we were almost exhausted from the heat. We had no choice but to end the training and seek shade under a large banyan tree. During our break, we talked about the NBA. Jiang Lingfeng's favorite active player is Chris Paul because the New Orleans Hornets secured a spot in the competitive Western Conference thanks to Paul's arrival. It's no exaggeration to say he is the savior of New Orleans. Jiang Lingfeng hopes to be like Paul, making a difference in a team just by being there, even if it's just a tiny change. I looked at him with admiration; I think Jiang Lingfeng has already achieved that because since his arrival, Hejiang Middle School has risen from ninth place in the City High League in 2009 (not making it to the top eight) to reaching the semifinals for two consecutive years in 2010 and 2011. However, Jiang Lingfeng will be in his third year next year, and opportunities to see one of the city's Five Great Point Guards perform are becoming increasingly rare... 0

"I heard that if the NBA shuts down this year, those big names might consider coming to play in the CBA to continue their careers!" I said excitedly. Jiang Lingfeng smiled and replied, "Even if they come to the CBA, what difference would it make? I like both the NBA and CBA, and I hope that one day the CBA can become a world-class league on par with the NBA. We have all witnessed the progress of the CBA in recent years, but they would still just be called 'foreign players.' So-called 'foreign players' are merely helpers brought in for Chinese local players, not actual team members in the league. Therefore, I hope that some lesser-known but capable foreign players come to stimulate the potential of Chinese local players..." Jiang Lingfeng spoke at length while A Fei and I listened attentively to his analysis. "Everyone must be thirsty; I'll go buy some water," Jiang Lingfeng said as he stood up. "No, no, no! Captain, you sit down; I'll go!" I quickly stood up and pushed him back onto the stone bench before running towards the vendor at the park entrance. 0

"Uncle, give me three bottles of cold mineral water," I shouted at the middle-aged man at the window. "Uncle, also give me three Mengniu Green Mood!" Suddenly, a familiar sharp voice came from beside me. I was startled and slowly glanced over... Sure enough, it was Situ Yanan. What a coincidence! Wherever I go, she seems to follow me like a ghost. After receiving the water, I quickly lowered my head and turned to leave. As I turned around, my hand slipped, and one bottle of mineral water flew out, hitting Situ Yanan on her shoulder. "Ah!" Situ Yanan was startled by this sudden attack. I hurriedly squatted down to pick up the mineral water. "Why did you throw mineral water at me... Oh? It's you, Brother Jie! How come you're here?" Situ Yanan asked after realizing it was me instead of getting angry. "Yeah, Yanan! What a coincidence! Are you here to play at Lake City Park too?" I replied with an awkward smile. "That's great! Someone is treating us again; you're so nice, brother! Uncle, let him pay; he's my brother," Situ Yanan said as she grabbed an ice pop and disappeared in a flash. I stared blankly at her retreating figure and helplessly took out my pocket money. "How much is it altogether?!" 0

In the afternoon, we went to Lijing Garden to watch other matches of the preliminary rounds. We watched a game at Court One between Heres Team and Fierce Fox Team. The most impressive player was a tall guy from Fierce Fox Team who stood 1.9 meters tall and had an imposing physique; he blocked Heres Team's Center multiple times during the game. This inside monster recorded terrifying stats of 10 points and 7 blocks throughout the match and rightfully became the MVP of this game. Hopefully, we won't encounter Fiery Fox again in future matches. The second round of draws is about to take place tomorrow; we three were still hanging out together in the evening discussing the differences between Street Basketball and formal basketball. Although we had already played one Street Basketball match, we still received two shot clock violations and one dead ball violation during that game; thus we needed to adapt more deeply to Street Basketball's style of play. 0

After returning home for dinner that night, my mom immediately asked with concern why I was back so late again. I casually replied that I went to a classmate's house for extra lessons with A Fei. Seeing my mom's half-doubtful expression, I quickly retreated into my room and lay on my bed without wanting to move at all; I didn't even feel like logging onto QQ and soon fell asleep drowsily. Not long after that, my mom's knock on the door woke me up: "Jie, dinner's ready!" "Oh!" I responded as I got up and washed my hands before sitting down for dinner. "Jie, when I passed by Lijing Park earlier today, I saw you with A Fei along with another boy and two girls; they must all be your classmates?" Dad casually asked while eating. I immediately paused with my chopsticks. "Uh... Of course! They're all our classmates; those few are just part of it; there are over ten more! We often discuss our studies together," I quickly thought on my feet. "Oh well then; you must study hard during your extra lessons because joining the school basketball team can really take away from your studies! So make sure you use this summer vacation wisely for review; don't just think about playing..." Dad began giving me a lecture. 0

"Hey Dad! You taught me not to talk while eating or sleeping! Mom can vouch for that—right Mom?" I quickly interrupted Dad's lengthy education session. "Look at you! Now you're complaining about us being long-winded!" Mom also started preparing for her ideological education session with me. "No no no! I'm just worried about you guys; I don't want you to stress too much! I've grown up too!" I quickly tried to lighten things up with some humor as Dad and Mom smiled at me without asking further questions. That was close—whether playing Street Basketball or dating, it's crucial that Mom and Dad never find out; otherwise, I truly can't imagine what would happen. 0

After dinner, I walked back into my room and lay on my bed again without wanting to move at all until eventually losing track of time... "Achoo!" In the middle of the night, I woke up from a chill breeze hitting me; opening my eyes revealed that I was still lying on my bed while cool winds blew in through the window outside. Sitting up, I touched my icy arms and quickly made my bed before taking off my clothes to return to dreamland. 0
