Zhao Ziyang smiled and said, "It's simple, because the training methods during the pre-game warm-up of the two teams are very different." "What differences?" I asked, confused. "Have you played F? From what I saw in the two teams, one focuses on team competition while the other focuses on individual competition. The pre-game practice involves how the other two players pass or assist him, while Stompers practice coordination and organization. That's right, Vulture Team's captain has strong individual skills, but if playing basketball only requires one person, then what's the point of having teammates? If you want to control the entire team by yourself... you might as well play video games..." Zhao Ziyang talked a lot, and I felt like I learned a lot of knowledge I didn't know before; it seems I am still too naive. After watching the game at Lijing Park, it was already three in the afternoon. Jiang Lingfeng and Zhao Ziyang indicated they wanted to leave first. After they left, Shuai Dong couldn't help but express his confusion: "Wow! Aren't these two supposed to be rivals? Why do they seem like brothers!" Pang Hao looked at Shuai Dong: "Shuai Dong, watch your words! What do you mean 'rivals'? A Fei and Jiang Lingfeng should also be rivals, yet they are still playing together." "That's different," Shuai Dong replied. "Aren't they both part of the Five Great Point Guards..." Shuai Dong and Pang Hao continued their discussion behind me while A Fei remained silent. "Hey, A Fei, with the NBA on hold, do you think those big-name stars will come to China to make money?" I asked A Fei. "Probably not; it's still uncertain whether it will be on hold or not. We'll see after negotiations yield results," A Fei replied as he raised his head. "Then this championship is quite significant; LeBron James's eight-year championship dream continues to be postponed. Who knows how long it will be delayed this time," I sighed dramatically. A Fei laughed and said, "Alright, enough with the life reflections. Since the NBA is on hold, let's watch the CBA; it's not bad either." "But which CBA team should we support? Our province doesn't have a BA team," I said dejectedly. A Fei punched me playfully: "Of course we support Beijing Jinyu!” “But Beijing isn’t a strong team; winning the championship seems far away…” I shook my head hesitantly. “So let me ask you, do you like Xia Ying because she studies well?” A Fei looked at me. “Of course not! Do you even need to ask that?” I pouted. A Fei immediately responded, “Exactly! Even if Xia Ying were the worst student in class, you would still like her because you like her as a person, not her grades.” His words left me speechless. Indeed, Beijing is home to the capital team of North China, and we are neighbors with Beijing! Alright! From now on, I will wholeheartedly support Beijing Jinyu, no matter what. As we walked along the main road, I suddenly spotted a familiar figure ahead talking on the phone—yes, it was Zhao Bin. “Hey! Zhao Bin!” Shuai Dong quickly walked over to greet him when he saw him. Zhao Bin hung up and smiled at us: “Oh, it’s you guys! Are you out having fun too?” He walked over. “Yeah, how come such a famous young master like you is wandering around on the street?” Shuai Dong teased him. “What young master? I'm just here to meet up with Bing Ge for something; we agreed to meet at the entrance of Lijing Park,” replied Zhao Bin. Curious, Shuai Dong asked, “What’s going on? Care to share?” This guy really loves to dig for details! After a brief pause, Zhao Bin said: “It’s nothing much; just meeting him to hang out.” “Great! Let’s all hang out together!” Shuai Dong insisted on sticking with him. I noticed that Zhao Bin looked a bit uncomfortable but didn’t want to refuse outright. Seeing this awkwardness, Pang Hao quickly said to Shuai Dong: “Hey! Aren’t we supposed to go hiking? Does Zhao Bin want to join us?” “I won’t go; I'll wait for Jianfei before heading out,” replied Zhao Bin. “Alright then, we’ll head off now; see you later!” said Pang Hao, pulling along Shuai Dong. “Wait a minute, when did I agree to go hiking with you? I…” Suddenly confused, Shuai Dong was dragged away by Pang Hao. “What are you doing? Why are you pulling me?” After turning around a corner, Shuai Dong managed to break free from Pang Hao’s strong grip. “Shuai Dong, are you clueless? It’s obvious that Zhao Bin has his own plans and doesn’t want us involved! You’re just making things awkward for yourself,” scolded Pang Hao. Left speechless by this reprimand from his friend, all he could say was: “Alright already; let’s stop arguing. It’s getting late; let’s all go home.” I quickly interrupted them. “Fine then,” replied Shuai Dong, as he and Pang Hao walked north along the road. “Do you know what kind of relationship I have with Zhao Bin! He wouldn’t want to avoid hanging out with me! What a joke! Back in the day…” As they walked along arguing about this, I exchanged glances with A Fei, shaking our heads simultaneously: “Sigh! This guy is really too naive.” Turning around to head home, I noticed that at the corner again stood Zhao Bin, who was now joined by Situ Jianfei, along with four or five upperclassmen students—were they all going out together? Just as my curiosity peaked, I casually caught sight of something shiny under Situ Jianfei’s clothing but couldn’t make out what it was. It seemed that A Fei didn’t notice this detail and asked me: “Hey, where are they going?” “Shh… They don’t look like they’re going out for fun,” I continued observing them closely. “If they’re not going out for fun, then what else could they be doing? Are they heading to school?” questioned an unconvinced A Fei. Ignoring him, I noticed that they seemed to be following something; there was some excitement in Zhao Bin ’s demeanor as they proceeded down the road toward the east. My curiosity surged uncontrollably—I decided to follow them secretly. “Hey hey hey! Where are you going?” A Fei grabbed my arm. “To play detective! Want to join in on the fun?” I asked mysteriously. A Fei rolled his eyes and shook his head: “You go crazy by yourself; I want to get home early and rest.” With that said, he walked away while I trailed behind Situ Jianfei and his group stealthily—I had an ominous feeling that something might happen with them; whatever it was, I'd follow them for now. 0
