The brilliance of magic faded like receding tide, leaving behind the radiant face of Second Brother and the astonished expression of Lucius.
Luna looked at Second Brother, a smile of relief spreading across her small face; she had finally helped him out of his predicament.
"Second Brother, I'm glad you're okay," Luna said softly, her voice sweet yet tinged with fatigue, as the recent spell had drained much of her energy.
Second Brother excitedly grasped Luna's small hand.
Lucius remained lost in shock, murmuring to himself, "What kind of magic was that? I've never seen anything like it!" His gaze toward Luna was filled with curiosity and a hint of barely concealed awe.
Luna chose to ignore Lucius's questions; she knew it wasn't the right time to reveal her secrets.
Turning to Aelia, she spoke softly, "Mother, I need to discuss something with you privately."
Aelia had been silent since earlier, watching Luna with a gaze that was complex and difficult to read.
She nodded, signaling Qin Si to take the others outside.
Once the Magic Chamber was left with only Luna and Aelia, Luna took a deep breath, determined to share the secret she had buried deep within her heart.
"Mother, I know something that concerns the destiny of our entire family," Luna's voice was quiet but carried an undeniable firmness.
Aelia looked at Luna, an ominous premonition rising within her. "What is it?"
Luna bit her lips, summoning her courage to say, "Father... he has another woman outside."
"What?!" Aelia's face turned ashen in an instant, as if struck by lightning.
She staggered back a few steps, looking at Luna in disbelief, her voice trembling. "What did you say? Say it again!"
Luna watched Aelia with a pained expression; she understood just how cruel this news was for her mother.
But to change the entire family's destiny, she had to do this.
"Mother, I'm telling the truth. Father has been keeping a woman outside, and... and they have a child," Luna's voice, though youthful, carried a heartbreaking sincerity.
Aelia felt as if the world was spinning around her; she clutched her chest, gasping in pain.
She had always believed that she and Leonard were a loving couple, that their marriage was unbreakable.
But now, Luna was telling her that it was all just a lie!
"Impossible! This can't be true!" Aelia shook her head frantically, unwilling to accept the reality.
She and Leonard had weathered so many storms together; they had built the Glorious Demon Fortress together. How could their relationship be so fragile?
Seeing Aelia's anguish only deepened Luna's own heartache.
She stepped closer to Aelia and gently embraced her. "Mother, I know this is hard to accept, but it is the truth. That woman is named Selena, and she lives at Rose Manor near Magic Castle."
"Selena... Rose Manor..." Aelia murmured, feeling as if her heart had been torn apart.
She struggled to recall but realized she knew nothing about that name or that estate.
"Why? Why would he do this to me?" Aelia's voice was filled with despair and pain; she couldn't understand why Leonard would betray her.
Luna gently patted Aelia's back, offering comfort. "Mother, I know you're very upset right now, but you must be strong. For the sake of our entire family, you cannot fall!"
Aelia lifted her head and looked at Luna's youthful yet determined face, a warm current swelling in her heart.
She wiped away her tears and took a deep breath. "Luna, don't worry. I won't be defeated. I will get to the bottom of this; I will make Leonard pay for what he has done!"
Just then, the door to the Magic Chamber swung open suddenly, and her elder brother entered, leaning on a cane.
He heard some commotion and, worried that Aelia might be in trouble, rushed over despite his own condition.
"Mother, what happened?" the eldest brother asked anxiously.
Aelia glanced at her brother and then at Luna, knowing that this matter would eventually come to light.
Taking a deep breath, she revealed to her brother the situation regarding Leonard and his concubine.
Upon hearing this, the eldest brother's expression darkened significantly.
He gripped his cane tightly, having always admired his father, only to find out he could commit such an act!
"Father... how could he do this?" The eldest brother's voice was low and filled with anger. He recalled how he had been disabled due to a magic backlash, suffering for years while Leonard lived freely outside. This made it even harder for him to accept.
"Mother, we can't let this go!" he said through gritted teeth. "We must seek justice for ourselves!"
Aelia nodded, determined. "I will make Leonard understand what the cost of betrayal is!"
Just then, the second brother and Brother San walked in.
They had heard the news and came to inquire about the situation.
When they learned about Leonard's concubine, they were equally shocked and furious.
The second brother felt a surge of anger as he thought about being deceived by a close friend and Leonard's betrayal.
"How could Father do such a thing! He is unworthy of being a father!" the second brother exclaimed, his fists clenched tightly, knuckles turning white.
Brother San also realized that he could no longer remain lost in his magical talent.
He needed to pull himself together, refocus on his training, and bring glory to the family while also reclaiming his own dignity.
“Mother, Brother, Second Brother, don’t worry! I will work hard on my cultivation from now on and won’t let you down again!” Brother San said firmly.
Seeing her three sons, Aelia felt a wave of comfort wash over her.
She knew that no matter what happened, her family would support her and stand by her through the tough times.
“Alright, as long as we work together as a family, we will surely overcome this challenge!” Aelia declared with determination, her voice filled with strength.
Just then, Qin Si rushed in, panic etched across her face.
“Madam, it’s bad! Lord has returned!” Qin Si said breathlessly, her voice trembling.
Aelia's expression turned pale in an instant. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.
“I understand,” Aelia replied coldly. “Let him in.”
Leonard appeared at the door of the Magic Chamber, looking slightly weary but oblivious to the tense atmosphere in the room.
“Aelia, I’m back,” Leonard said with a smile, his voice warm and gentle.
Aelia looked at Leonard, her heart swelling with anger and disappointment.
Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward and raised her hand to slap him hard across the face.
“Smack!”
The sharp sound of the slap echoed in the Magic Chamber, and Leonard’s smile froze instantly. He covered his face in disbelief as he stared at Aelia…
“You…” Leonard tried to say something but found his throat constricted as if something was blocking it, leaving him speechless.
He looked at Aelia, confused about what he had done wrong to provoke such fury from her.
Aelia coldly stared at Leonard, her voice dripping with disdain. "Leonard, you truly disgust me!"
"Wh-what are you talking about, Aelia?" Leonard's voice trembled as he sensed that something was slipping beyond his control.
Aelia did not respond to Leonard's question. She turned to her elder brother, Second Brother, and Brother San, saying, "Let's go!"
With that, Aelia left the Magic Chamber without looking back, followed closely by her elder brother, Second Brother, and Brother San.
Luna cast a glance at Leonard before following Aelia out.
Leonard was left standing alone in the empty Magic Chamber, confusion and helplessness etched on his face.
He had no idea what had just happened, nor did he know what to do next...
Qin Si watched Aelia's resolute figure retreating,
and quickly caught up with her, feeling a pang of sorrow as she observed her mistress's unsteady gait.
Aelia's back was straight, but Qin Si could distinctly sense the deep-seated coldness radiating from her.
She knew that while Aelia appeared calm on the surface, her heart was already in turmoil.
"Madam..." Qin Si choked on her words, softly calling out but unsure how to offer comfort.
Having served Aelia for many years, she had never seen her in such a disheveled state.
Usually, Aelia was graceful and composed, effortlessly commanding the situation with a smile.
But now, the light in her eyes had dimmed, replaced by an endless sorrow.
Aelia paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and struggled to steady her trembling body.
She turned to Qin Si, a bitter smile squeezing onto Pale's face. "Qin Si, am I being foolish?"
"Madam, please don't say that..." Tears streamed down Qin Si's face as she embraced Aelia tightly. "You are the kindest and wisest woman in the world! It’s that damned Leonard who is blind and doesn’t know how to cherish you!"
Aelia's tears finally broke free, and she clutched Qin Si's hand as if it were her last lifeline.
"I thought... I thought we truly loved each other..." Her voice trembled with a hint of despair. "I gave him everything, only to end up with this result..."
Qin Si gently patted Aelia's back, soothing her softly. "Madam, you still have us, and the Young Masters! We will always be by your side, supporting you forever!"
Aelia lifted her head and looked into Qin Si's sincere eyes, a warm current surging within her.
She wiped her tears, took a deep breath, and her gaze gradually became resolute.
"You’re right; I still have you all! I cannot fall; for the sake of my children, I must be strong!"
Meanwhile, Lucius stood at the door of the Magic Chamber, watching his parents' departing figures with mixed emotions swirling in his heart.
His father's betrayal shocked him, his mother's pain pained him, while Luna's mysterious power filled him with curiosity and awe.
He felt as if he was witnessing the turning point of their family's fate, a flicker of hope igniting like a dark purple flame within him.
Left alone in the Magic Chamber, Leonard's earlier composure had long since vanished.
He sat despondently in a chair, trembling hands covering his face.
The sting of Aelia's slap still burned on his cheek, but what hurt more was the disgust and disdain reflected in Aelia's eyes.
He knew that everything he had painstakingly built was now crumbling.
He worried not only about losing his position but also about the future of the family being jeopardized.
Cold sweat trickled down his forehead as he felt an unprecedented wave of fear.
Aelia returned to her room with her children, sitting on the edge of the bed. She took a deep breath, striving to calm herself.
She knew this was not the time for sorrow; she had to quickly devise a plan to protect her and her children's future.
Her eldest son sat beside Aelia, gently holding her hand.
"Mother, don't worry. No matter what happens, we will stand by your side."
Second Brother and Brother San also expressed their support.
"Mother, we believe in you. We will face this together."
Aelia looked into the determined eyes of her three sons, feeling a surge of strength within her.
She knew she was not fighting alone; she had her children, Qin Si, and… Luna.
She glanced at Luna, that small figure possessing incredible power.
Luna's presence felt like a ray of light, illuminating her dark future.
"Luna…" Aelia softly called out, her voice tinged with gratitude. "Thank you."
Luna walked over to Aelia and gently embraced her.
"Mother, you don't need to thank me. It's what I should do."
Aelia stroked Luna's soft hair, her heart filled with hope.
She believed that as long as their family stood united, they would surely overcome this difficult time.
At that moment, a series of urgent knocks echoed from outside the door.
"Madam, Lord requests an audience," came the voice of the Knight from beyond the threshold.
Aelia's expression instantly turned cold as she took a deep breath, her gaze resolute.
"Let him in."
Leonard stepped into the room and was met with Aelia's icy stare, causing his heart to sink.
He opened his mouth, wanting to explain, but found himself at a loss for words.
"Aelia, I—"
"Aelia," she interrupted him, "what more is there to say?"
Leonard looked at Aelia, "I... I just..."
"Just what?" Aelia pressed on, "Just made a mistake that every man makes?"
Leonard's face grew even darker as he lowered his head, unable to meet Aelia's eyes.
"Aelia," her voice was chilling and cutting, "you have disappointed me greatly."
He lifted his head, wanting to say something, but saw tears shimmering in Aelia's eyes.
A sharp pain pierced his heart; he reached out to comfort her but was forcefully pushed away by Aelia.
"Don't touch me!" Aelia's voice was filled with disgust. "I don't want to see you again!"
Leonard stumbled back a few steps, looking at Aelia. "Aelia, I..."
“Get out!” Aelia shouted, “I don’t want to hear your voice anymore!”
Leonard looked at Aelia’s resolute expression and knew he had lost her for good.
He turned and left the room, feeling utterly despondent.
As Aelia watched Leonard’s retreating figure, tears finally streamed down her cheeks.
She understood that this was just the beginning…
Luna walked over to Aelia and gently tugged at her sleeve. “Mother…”
Aelia looked down at Luna. “Don’t worry, Luna. I will protect you and your brothers.”
“Mother,” Luna raised her head, gazing at Aelia with a glimmer of wisdom in her eyes, “perhaps… we can find another way…”
