Qin Si took a deep breath, tears once again blurring her vision.
"The lady... she had a boy, but... but the child didn't survive right after birth."
Luna felt as if she had been struck by lightning, her small body swaying slightly.
She vaguely remembered that in the original story, Aelia's child had indeed passed away, but this event became the final straw that broke her, leading her to complete despair and ultimately down a path of self-destruction.
No!
This tragedy must not be allowed to repeat itself!
Luna clenched her tiny fists tightly, a strong sense of responsibility surging within her.
Qin Si explained the situation to Luna in fragments.
It turned out that Leonard had never even come to Magic Castle!
He had sent a letter, casually explaining that he was tied up with urgent matters and could not return for the birth.
The cold tone of the letter was starkly different from his usual tenderness towards Aelia.
What chilled Aelia even more was the revelation from Messenger Unintentional that Leonard had already found another love, and that woman was also pregnant with his child; he was currently by her side.
This news struck Aelia like a thunderbolt, shattering her long-held beautiful fantasies about love.
She held her deceased child tightly, tears streaming down her face, her cries so heart-wrenching they could break anyone's heart.
The entire Magic Castle was enveloped in an atmosphere of sorrow and oppression.
Luna's heart felt as if it were gripped by an invisible hand, the pain almost unbearable.
She knew that what Aelia needed most right now was comfort and support, but she was just a baby—what could she do?
In the hall of Magic Castle, her elder brother sat dejectedly in his wheelchair, staring blankly at the gloomy sky outside.
The aftermath of the Magic Backlash had robbed him of the ability to walk and filled him with despair for the future.
Second Brother paced back and forth, his face etched with anxiety and unease.
He had been deceived by a close friend, caught in a complex Magic Dilemma that could cost him his life at any moment.
Brother San, on the other hand, appeared indifferent. Leaning against the wall, he idly fiddled with the Magic Water crystal ball in his hand.
He possessed immense Magical Talent, but due to youthful recklessness, he had neglected his training, and now his strength lagged behind that of his peers.
The future of the Magic Castle seemed shrouded in a fog, directionless and unclear.
Watching her family fall into one predicament after another, Luna felt a sharp pain in her heart as if it were being pricked by needles.
She recalled how in the Original, her eldest brother had ultimately succumbed to despair, Second Brother had met a tragic end due to a friend's conspiracy, and Brother San had become a discarded member of the family due to his insufficient strength.
No!
She absolutely could not allow such tragedies to happen again!
Luna's gaze gradually grew resolute; within her small frame lay immense energy.
Taking a deep breath, she marched toward her eldest brother with her little legs.
"Eldest Brother..." Luna called out in her baby voice.
He paused for a moment, looking down at the tiny figure before him. "Luna? What are you doing here?"
Luna climbed onto her brother's lap and reached out her small hand to gently stroke his withered hand, which had been affected by the Magic Backlash.
"Eldest Brother, I know how to lift your Magic Backlash Curse."
Her brother was taken aback for a moment before letting out a bitter laugh. "Luna, you're still young; you don't understand these things..."
“No, I know!” Luna's eyes were firm and determined. “I know an ancient magic that can repair your damaged Meridian and help you stand up again!”
Her elder brother looked at Luna with skepticism; he thought it was sheer nonsense.
How could a baby still in swaddling know such profound magic?
However, looking into Luna's clear, bright eyes, a glimmer of hope ignited in his heart.
Could this truly be a miracle?
“Alright,” he took a deep breath. “Luna, tell me what to do.”
Luna leaned close to her brother's ear and detailed the method to break the curse.
Following her instructions, he cautiously channeled the magic within him.
A warm energy flowed through his body, and he felt the damaged Meridian slowly beginning to heal, his body gradually regaining sensation.
“I... I can feel my legs!” His voice trembled with excitement. “Luna, you really are a little genius!”
Luna smiled sweetly.
“Brother,” she tugged at his sleeve, “Second Brother is in some trouble right now; we need to help him.”
“Second Brother is trapped in a very dangerous Magic Circle and needs to find the focal point to escape.” Luna’s lullaby voice carried a hint of seriousness, creating a striking contrast with her chubby little face.
The once dim gaze of Second Brother flickered with light as he crouched down to meet Luna’s eyes. “Luna, is that true? Do you know where the focal point is?” He didn’t doubt his sister; it was just that this Magic Circle had been set up by a close friend of his, known as the Magic Genius. Even he was at a loss—what could a baby possibly know?
Luna smiled mysteriously and pointed with her tiny hand toward an unremarkable cactus in Second Brother's study. “Right there.”
Second Brother looked puzzled as he followed her finger. It was just an ordinary cactus he had bought long ago on a whim. Could there be something special about it?
“What’s wrong with that cactus?” Second Brother asked uncertainly.
Luna nodded and explained in her youthful voice, "That is not an ordinary Cactus; it's a rare magical plant. Its roots are connected to the Energy Flow of the Magic Circle. If we destroy its roots, we can cut off the energy source of the Magic Circle, thus breaking the magic formation."
Second Brother was taken aback. Although he was a Mage, he wasn't well-versed in botany.
Skeptically, he approached the Cactus and began to examine it closely.
"But Luna, how can I be sure that what you say is true? This Cactus doesn’t seem to have any magical traces," Second Brother hesitated, aware that this was a matter of life and death; he couldn't afford to take risks lightly.
Luna pouted, seemingly displeased with Second Brother's doubts.
She took a small fruit knife from Qin Si and handed it to Second Brother. "Second Brother, if you cut open the roots of the Cactus with this knife, you'll find out."
Second Brother accepted the fruit knife, took a deep breath, and his gaze became resolute.
He decided to trust Luna this once; even if there was only a glimmer of hope, he had to seize it.
Carefully, he dug the Cactus out of its pot and then used the knife to cut its roots.
The moment the blade touched the roots, a powerful surge of Magical Energy erupted, knocking Second Brother back several steps.
The fruit knife in his hand instantly turned to ashes.
Then he felt his own Magical Energy begin to spiral out of control, and the Magic Circle that had bound him started to crack.
"Success!" Second Brother shouted excitedly. He could feel himself gradually breaking free from the constraints of the Magic Circle.
Minutes later, all the Magical Energy dissipated, and Second Brother was completely free from the Magic Dilemma.
He joyfully lifted Luna into his arms and kissed her on her small face. "Luna, you truly are my savior! How did you know all this?"
Luna laughed lightly but did not answer Second Brother's question.
She simply winked mysteriously and said, "Second Brother, you are free now; you can go do what you want."
Second Brother looked at Luna's innocent smile, filled with gratitude and hope.
He decided to pick himself up and no longer dwell on the pain of the past.
After resolving Second Brother's predicament, Luna turned her attention to Brother San.
“Brother San, you have such powerful Magical Talent; why don't you train properly?” Luna asked, approaching Brother San with a youthful voice.
Brother San shrugged dismissively. “Training is too hard, and I’m a natural genius. Even without training, I can be better than others.”
Luna shook her head and sighed. “Brother San, you’re wrong. Talent is important, but effort is even more crucial. If you rely solely on your talent without putting in the work, one day you will be surpassed by others.”
Hearing Luna's words, Brother San's expression soured. “What do you know, you little brat? My business is none of your concern!”
Luna was not intimidated by Brother San's attitude; she continued, “Brother San, I know you're feeling lost. You don’t know what you truly want. You think having strong Magical Talent is enough, but deep down, you're feeling empty.”
Brother San's expression changed slightly; he hadn’t expected Luna to see through his thoughts.
“Brother San, have you ever thought about what you really like? What kind of person do you want to become?” Luna pressed on.
Brother San fell silent as he began to seriously contemplate Luna's questions.
He had been hailed as a Magic Genius since childhood, with everyone placing high expectations on him, yet he had never truly considered what he wanted for himself.
“I…” Brother San opened his mouth but found himself unable to say anything.
Luna walked over to Brother San and gently took his hand. “Brother San, don’t be afraid. Be brave and pursue what you want. As long as you put in the effort, you will succeed.”
Looking into Luna's clear and bright eyes, Brother San felt an inexplicable wave of emotion swell within him.
He sensed that something deep inside him had been touched.
“Luna, thank you,” Brother San said, his voice choked with emotion. “I know what I need to do now.”
From that day on, Brother San began to diligently practice magic. He no longer indulged in leisure but devoted all his energy to training.
His strength advanced rapidly, soon surpassing his peers.
Leonard felt extremely uneasy upon learning of Luna's actions. He never expected that this tiny infant could possess such immense power, capable of altering his plans.
"This Little One must be eliminated!" Leonard declared.
He sent assassins to secretly eliminate Luna, but she skillfully evaded them all.
Luna knew that Leonard would not give up easily; she decided to take the initiative.
She sought out Aelia and revealed Leonard's conspiracy to her.
Aelia was shocked beyond belief. She could hardly accept that the man she loved so dearly was such a despicable person.
"Luna, is what you say true?" Aelia asked, her voice trembling.
Luna nodded and said firmly, "It is true, Mother. He has been deceiving you all along; he does not love you at all."
Aelia felt as if her heart were being torn apart; years of affection had turned out to be nothing but a deception.
"I need to confront him and get the truth!" Aelia said angrily.
Luna stopped her, "Mother, you cannot go to him now. He will surely make excuses, and he might even harm you."
"What should we do then?" Aelia felt utterly helpless.
Luna pondered for a moment and said, "We must find a way to expose his true nature and ruin his reputation."
Aelia nodded, deciding to trust Luna and join her in confronting Leonard.
With Luna's help, Aelia gradually took control of the Magic Castle and began investigating Leonard's crimes.
Upon learning of Aelia's actions, Leonard was furious.
He never expected Aelia to be so difficult to deal with, especially with such a clever Luna supporting her from behind.
"You wretched woman! I will make you pay for this!" Leonard roared.
He decided to go all in and launch a Rebellion to seize control of the Magic Castle.
However, he underestimated the strength of Aelia and Luna.
Under Luna's command, the Magic Castle's defense system was automatically activated, and Leonard's rebels were defeated.
Leonard was captured, stripped of his title as Lord of the Magic Castle, and imprisoned in the dungeon for eternity.
Aelia looked at the imprisoned Leonard, filled with sadness and anger.
She never imagined that her beloved husband would end up like this.
"Why? Why would you do this to me?" Aelia questioned.
Leonard sneered, "Because I want more! Power, status, wealth—these are things you cannot give me!"
Disappointed, Aelia shook her head. She no longer wished to speak with Leonard and turned to leave the dungeon.
With the crisis at the Magic Castle resolved, Aelia reclaimed her position as its master.
She was grateful for everything Luna had done for her; she knew that without Luna, she might have already been dead.
"Luna, thank you," Aelia said emotionally as she embraced Luna.
Luna smiled sweetly, knowing that her efforts had not been in vain.
The Magic Castle had regained its former tranquility, and everyone was filled with hope for the future.
However, a sense of unease lingered in Luna's heart.
She knew that the true crisis had not yet been averted, and greater challenges awaited her.
As night deepened, Luna stood alone by the window, gazing at the bright moon in the sky.
"Luna, what are you looking at?" Aelia approached her side and asked softly.
Luna turned to look at Aelia.
Aelia was momentarily taken aback; she didn't understand why Luna would say that.
"Luna, do you know something?" Aelia pressed on.
Luna shook her head and replied, "I just have a feeling. I can't quite put it into words."
"Ah..." Aelia sighed, pulling Luna into her embrace and gently saying, "It's okay. No matter what happens, we'll face it together."
Nestled in Aelia's arms, Luna felt a surge of warmth and strength.
She knew that as long as she had her family by her side, she feared nothing.
Suddenly, Luna's expression changed; she sensed a powerful surge of Magical Energy rapidly approaching the Magic Castle.
"Mother, be careful!" Luna exclaimed in alarm.
At that moment, a bolt of black lightning tore through the night sky, striking down fiercely towards the Magic Castle.
"Boom!"
With a tremendous roar, the entire Magic Castle shook violently.
Aelia quickly hugged Luna, trying to protect her.
"What happened?" Aelia asked in panic.
Luna furrowed her brow tightly, staring out at the pitch-black night sky, filled with unease.
"A powerful enemy is coming..." Luna whispered.
"Crack—"
The door to the room suddenly burst open, and Qin Si rushed in, looking frantic.
"Madam! It's bad! Lucius—" Before Qin Si could finish her sentence, she saw Luna shake her head at her, signaling her not to continue.
Qin Si froze, not understanding why Luna wanted to stop her.
"Luna, what's wrong?" Aelia asked, puzzled.
Luna took a deep breath, walked over to Aelia, and said firmly, "Mother, now is not the time for this. We need to leave here immediately!"
"Leave? Where to?" Aelia questioned.
"To a safe place, somewhere no one can find us," Luna replied.
"But..." Aelia started to say something else but was interrupted by Luna.
"Mother, trust me, we don't have time!" After saying that, Luna grabbed Aelia's hand and ran out without looking back...
