Though Master Zhang's heart was as still as an ancient well, Jiang Chen's tone was far too arrogant. He actually dared to say that Gu Yun Nan and Jia Xingliang were too shallow in their cultivation. After all, they were top figures among the Kong Island Mages. As a senior in the martial arts world and a master of Daoist Techniques, Master Zhang would never dare to speak so lightly.
"You have no right to say that Master Gu and Master Jia are shallow in their cultivation," Master Zhang's voice deepened, and a sharp gaze enveloped Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen chuckled lightly, his demeanor dismissive. Although Master Zhang indeed possessed considerable skills, he was still insignificant in Jiang Chen's eyes.
"Do not be stubborn and ignorant. No matter how powerful you think your Magic is, you cannot be arrogant and reckless, nor can you commit Murder. You are still young; I give you a chance. If you can realize your mistakes, there is still hope. But if you refuse to listen to advice, what awaits you is ultimately destruction." Master Zhang's voice rang out like a warning bell in the air, shaking the heart and providing a sense of enlightenment.
"Master Zhang, your words mean nothing to me. I will kill whoever I deem should be killed; no one can stop me. And what right do you have to point fingers at me?" Jiang Chen replied with a faint smile, each word like a sharp blade piercing Master Zhang's heart. Master Zhang's expression changed dramatically as he took two steps back; he had never imagined that one day he would be reprimanded by a mere youth. For a moment, he was so enraged that he couldn't find his voice.
Jiang Chen stood proudly, his tone seemingly calm yet aggressive. Once Master Zhang regained his composure, he stepped forward and fixed his gaze on Jiang Chen.
"Ridiculous! I see you have already fallen into the path of evil. Since ancient times, Longhu Mountain has taken it upon itself to eliminate evil and uphold righteousness. If you do not repent today, I will have to act on behalf of heaven and ensure you do not escape," Master Zhang declared darkly.
Jiang Chen was even more hopeless than he had anticipated; not only was he arrogant, but his tone also clearly indicated a thirst for bloodshed. Cultivating supernatural powers just for the sake of Murder? That was unacceptable! If left unchecked, he could become a great menace in the future.
Master Zhang was a man filled with righteous fervor; he believed that as the master of Longhu Mountain and wielder of the Thunder Seal, it was his duty to uphold justice and punish evil. Seeing Jiang Chen treat Murder so lightly made him regard him as an evil being. Since words could not awaken him to reason, force would have to suffice.
Seeing Master Zhang's fury, Jiang Luyi felt some concern that Master Zhang might not show mercy and might strike hard against Jiang Chen. Although Jiang Chen was formidable, Jiang Luyi could not be certain if he stood a chance against Master Zhang, who was also quite renowned.
"Master Zhang, are you sure you are my opponent?" Jiang Chen asked with an unruffled smile.
This statement once again provoked Master Zhang.
"Youth, you are too arrogant! Don’t think that just because you've practiced Daoist Techniques for a few years you can look down on everyone. Do you really believe that our Longhu Mountain’s thousand-year legacy is just talk?" Master Zhang's tone grew grave.
"One could say so," Jiang Chen replied nonchalantly.
"What bold words! Then today I shall experience your supernatural powers firsthand. I want to see what gives you the confidence to speak such arrogance," Master Zhang said with a face as cold as iron before lightly leaping down from the pavilion onto the lake.
Master Zhang’s sudden action startled Jiang Luyi, an ordinary person; however, when Master Zhang landed on the surface of the lake, it was as if he had landed on solid ground, creating only slight ripples.
