The surface of Yueyue Spring rippled under the impact of the silver bullet, and Lia stumbled backward, her boots sinking into the silver mire, each step feeling as if an invisible force was dragging her down. Kalan's Yin Xue dripped into the center of the spring, dark red magic spreading across the water's surface, forming two swirling crescents. As the fire guns of the Mechanical Werewolves fired again, Lia saw Kalan's silver hair suddenly gleam with a metallic sheen. His spine erupted with a series of cracks, and the skin on his back began to fissure, revealing the Silver Fur growing beneath.
"The Purification Spring requires the Twin Blood Oath!" Kalan's voice turned hoarse yet commanding, dark red ripples expanding in his Yin Tong. "Use your blood... to complete the ritual!"
Just as Lia's fingertips brushed the surface of the spring, a powerful surge of magic suddenly knocked her away. She crashed against the mossy edge of the spring, and the Crescent Rune on her wrist emitted a blinding blue light. Kalan let out a beast-like roar, his silver hair billowing without wind as Dark Moon Power gushed from his wounds, forming two swirling crescents above Yueyue Spring. When the Mechanical Werewolves fired again, the whirlpools suddenly spun, drawing in the silver bullets and transforming them into shards that sank into the spring.
"This is the backlash of the Purification Spring!" The leading Mechanical Werewolf emitted a metallic resonating roar as his magic crystal eye shot out a beam of silver light, instantly vaporizing Lia's Experimental Pack upon impact. Kalan seized Lia's wrist and dragged her toward the center of the spring, where Yin Xue and blue light intertwined at their point of contact, enveloping them both.
As Lia's blood dripped into the spring, the entire forest was engulfed in silver light. Two crystal crescents shot forth beams of light that pierced through the blood moon hanging high in the night sky. Countless silver runes appeared before Lia's eyes, flowing along the cracks of Yueyue Spring and ultimately converging at the central crystal pillar.
"The Twin Blood Oath is complete." Kalan's voice echoed within the network of runes as his Silver Fur rapidly faded. However, his left eye still glowed with a dangerous red light from its Void. "Now... the Purification Spring is awakening."
Before Lia could respond, chainsaw swords from the Mechanical Werewolves suddenly attacked from all directions. Kalan shielded Lia behind him; his silver hair had completely turned dark red as wolf fur grew at an astonishing rate, tearing his worn linen shirt to shreds. When the first chainsaw sword struck his shoulder, Dark Moon Power erupted from his wound, freezing the enemy's weapon into silver crystals.
"The Dark Moon Power is backfiring!" Lia's voice was nearly drowned out by the roar of Yueyue Spring. She suddenly noticed dark red magic corroding Kalan's blood vessels at his wound. "We have to get out of here!"
Kalan let out another beast-like roar; his silver hair billowed without wind as Dark Moon Power surged from his wounds, forming two swirling crescents above Yueyue Spring. At their center floated a transparent crystal ball containing an image of Lia's mother. The woman bore a Crescent Rune identical to Lia’s in her Lan Mou; her voice echoed as if coming from underwater: "The Purification Spring requires blood from the Moonlight Heart, while Dark Moon Power needs purification from the Moonlight Priestess. Now... it is awakening."
Lia’s breath caught in her throat. She watched as her mother’s image in the crystal ball gradually became transparent before transforming into two crescent light points that merged into Kalan’s Dark Moon Brand. The dark red ripples in Kalan’s Yin Tong began to fade; his silver hair slowly regained its original color while his left eye still glowed with dangerous red light.
"The Purification Spring needs your blood." Kalan's voice became deep and clear as his Yin Xue dripped onto Lia’s wrist rune; dark red light was gradually replaced by blue light. "Now... it is complete."
The surface of Yueyue Spring suddenly calmed down, and a strange silver glow bathed the entire forest. The runes on Lia’s wrist continued to emit a faint glow in response to Kalan’s Dark Moon Brand on his left chest. As roars from Mechanical Werewolves approached again, Lia pressed her hand against the crystal pillar at the spring—instantly activating the rune network that enveloped both her and Kalan in silver light.
When the glow dissipated, they found themselves standing amidst the ruins of Ironforge City. The blood moon hung high above as silver runes covered the entire city; images of Lia’s brother being pinned on an altar by Mechanical Werewolves replayed repeatedly in holographic projections. Sebastian’s form as Mechanical Wolf King cast a massive shadow; suddenly, his magic crystal eye shot forth a beam of silver light that vaporized Lia’s Purification Key upon impact.
"Heir of Moonlight Heart." Sebastian’s mechanical synthesized voice echoed over the ruins. "You have finally arrived."
Kalan let out another beast-like roar; his silver hair billowed without wind as Dark Moon Power surged from his wounds, forming two swirling crescents above the ruins. As Lia staggered backward, she saw Kalan’s silver hair gleaming with metallic luster once more; dark red ripples expanded in his Yin Tong while skin on his back cracked open to reveal growing Silver Fur beneath.
"The power of Purification Spring... is insufficient to combat Eternal Night." Sebastian’s mechanical limb suddenly pierced through Lia’s brother’s shoulder; dark red magic gushed from the wound and coalesced into two swirling crescents in midair. "Now... Eternal Night will consume Ironforge City."
Lia’s breath quickened abruptly. She heard familiar vibrations from underground; Yueyue Spring's silver glow burst through the ruins, forming two beams of crescent light beneath the blood moon. Kalan grasped Lia's wrist and pressed her against their center.
"The Twin Blood Oath requires one final sacrifice." His voice turned hoarse yet commanding as Yin Xue dripped onto Lia’s wrist rune. "Use your blood... to complete purification."
Before Lia could struggle, Kalan had already pressed her against the rune at their center. As her blood fell onto it, silver light dyed Ironforge City in an eerie hue. The two beams of crescent light spun before merging into one vortex shaped like a crescent that forced Sebastian’s Eternal Night power back into his Mechanical Core.
When an image of Lia’s mother appeared at its center, Ironforge City was engulfed in silver light once more. Lia felt her Old Scar burn again as blue light surged beneath her skin, revealing two crescent runes on her palm. The dark red ripples in Kalan’s Yin Tong completely faded; his silver hair returned to its original color while a crescent blue glow emerged from his left eye's Void.
"Purification and Eternal Night... are merely a thought apart." Lia’s voice resonated within the silver glow. "Now... it is time to end this."
