Luna's mysterious smile spread across her chubby little face, like a gentle spring breeze caressing the calm surface of a lake, creating ripples. Lucius had fallen into a deep slumber, completely unaware that he was being drawn into a meticulously woven web of Destiny.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the Colored Glass Window, casting a kaleidoscope of Light and Shadow on the floor. Luna rubbed her sleepy eyes and instinctively grabbed a plush toy from the edge of her bed—a fluffy little Griffin with golden Wings.
Almost simultaneously, the door creaked open, and her elder brother—the once spirited Mage now worn down by Magic Backlash—entered the room. He walked with unsteady steps, his face Pale, beads of sweat glistening on his forehead, which made Luna's heart ache.
"Luna..." Her brother's voice was hoarse and weak, tinged with an unmistakable pain. "My body... it hurts again..."
Luna slid off her small bed and hurried over to her brother, reaching out to gently stroke his Pale Luna.
"I know, brother," her tender voice carried an unexpected steadiness for her age. "I know how to help you."
"Luna, you're still young; you don't understand these things..."
"I do," Luna interrupted firmly. "I know the Fountain of Life can heal your Magic Backlash." The Fountain of Life was a crucial clue in the original story, and now it was finally coming into play!
Her brother suddenly looked up, hope igniting in his eyes.
"The Fountain of Life... but that's just a legend..."
Luna smiled mysteriously and leaned closer to whisper a few words in his ear.
His expression shifted from doubt to shock, and finally to sheer joy. He hugged Luna tightly, his voice trembling as he said, "Luna... you truly are my savior!"
Just as her brother left, the Second Brother arrived. He wore an expression of regret, his brows furrowed like a wilted eggplant.
"Luna," he said in a deep voice filled with self-reproach, "I was deceived... My dear friend tricked me and stole my magic stone..."
Luna gently patted the back of the Second Brother's hand and comforted him, "Second Brother, don't be sad. I know who tricked you and how to help you get your magic stone back." She shared her plan with him, and after hearing it, determination reignited in his eyes as he looked at Luna with gratitude, like a drowning person grasping a lifeline.
At that moment, Aelia pushed the door open. Her eyes were red and swollen, her expression weary; it was clear she had been crying.
She walked over to Luna and enveloped her in a tight embrace as Tears flowed freely once more.
"Luna... Leonard... he betrayed me..." she choked out between sobs, recounting her husband's betrayal in broken phrases as despair filled the room.
Luna gently patted Aelia's back, comforting her like a little adult. "Mom, don't be sad. I'll help you." Despite still being a child, her words carried a weight beyond her years.
Finally, Brother San arrived. He looked dejected, his eyes hollow, a once-gifted youth now resembling a puppet without a soul.
"Luna," he sighed wearily, "my Magical Talent... it seems to have vanished..."
Luna looked at Brother San with a heavy heart. In the original story, Brother San had been misled by the so-called "talent," neglecting his training and ultimately achieving nothing.
"Brother San," she said earnestly, "talent isn't everything; hard work is what truly matters."
At first, Brother San hesitated, but with Luna's continuous encouragement, determination gradually returned to his gaze. He clenched his fists as if making a resolution. "You're right, Luna! I will start training again!"
As the sun set, golden rays filled the room. Luna watched the rekindled hope in her brothers and felt a sense of accomplishment swell within her.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Lucius walked in.
"Luna," he asked curiously, "what are you thinking? Can we really turn around the situation at Magic Castle?"
A confident smile crept onto Luna's lips. "Of course," she paused, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "I already have the perfect plan..."
Luna smiled mysteriously; her expression seemed unusually mature for her tender age, like a clever little fox.
"Do you want to know my plan?" She winked playfully. "Well, that depends on whether you have the patience to listen."
Lucius couldn't help but chuckle at her antics and playfully pinched her chubby cheek.
"You little rascal, hurry up and tell me! I'm all ears."
Luna cleared her throat and spoke like an adult. "First, we need to solve Brother's Magic Backlash problem. The legend of the Fountain of Life is not just a myth; it's hidden deep within the Misty Forest, protected by a powerful magical barrier. I will draw a map indicating how to break through the barrier. Brother can take Second Brother and Brother San to find it."
She paused before continuing, "The magical stone that Second Brother was tricked into losing is actually hidden in the Forbidden Area of the Royal Magic Academy by his 'close friend.' I will write a letter for Mother to give to the academy's headmaster to help retrieve the stone." Luna's voice was youthful yet brimming with confidence, as if everything was under her control.
Lucius was taken aback; he hadn't expected such a meticulous plan from his young sister.
He couldn't help but look at her with newfound respect. "Luna, you're incredibly smart!" he exclaimed sincerely.
Luna proudly lifted her chin like a peacock showing off its feathers. "Of course!"
Just then, Qin Si walked in with a hint of worry on her face.
“Miss, do you really think Father will follow your plan?” she asked anxiously, her voice filled with concern.
Luna turned to Qin Si and gave her a reassuring look. “Aunt Cessy, don’t worry. I’ve made arrangements. Father won’t refuse my request,” she said firmly, as if everything was under control.
Seeing Luna’s confident demeanor, Qin Si’s worries gradually faded away, replaced by an inexplicable trust. She believed that this seemingly fragile girl could indeed change the destiny of the Magic Castle.
As night deepened, moonlight streamed through the window, casting mottled light and shadow on the floor. Luna and her brothers sat around the fireplace, the flames illuminating their youthful faces.
“Eldest Brother, once your Magic Backlash is healed, we can go on adventures together!” Second Brother exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
“Yeah! We’ll explore the Misty Forest and search for legendary magical beasts!” Brother San chimed in, a long-lost smile spreading across his face.
The eldest brother looked at his two younger siblings. “Thank you both, and thank you, Luna.” He knew that without her, they would likely still be trapped in their predicament.
Luna gazed at her brothers’ beaming smiles, feeling warmth fill her heart. She reached out her small hand and grasped Eldest Brother’s hand.
“Eldest Brother, Second Brother, Brother San, we are family and will always be together.”
The room was filled with a cozy atmosphere, each person brimming with anticipation for the future.
Suddenly, a series of urgent knocks shattered the tranquility… Luna lifted her head and looked toward the door, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes. “Who is it?”
