"Oh, thank goodness you came, otherwise I might have been choked to death by that bastard Haoshuai," Zhao Bin said jokingly. Situ Jianfei turned around to look at Haoshuai lying on the ground and said to me, "Jianfei, could you do me a favor? I'll leave with Zhao Bin first, and you help me take Haoshuai to the hospital..." 0

"Jianfei, why do you still care about him! He'll wake up and walk on his own; let him lie down for a while longer," Zhao Bin interrupted Situ Jianfei angrily, clearly still upset. 0

"It's getting dark. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, his parents will definitely be worried sick. Jianfei, let's go; you help wake him up and take him to the hospital. Zhao Bin, let's go." Situ Jianfei blocked Zhao Bin's words. Zhao Bin sighed heavily and took out three hundred yuan from his wallet, stuffing it into my hand: "This is for Haoshuai's medical expenses; take it. We'll leave first." The two of them helped each other slowly stand up, and I hurried over to support them both: "How about I take you back first?" 0

"No need; we can still walk. Just take Haoshuai back," Situ Jianfei waved his hand at me and walked out with Zhao Bin. I admired them silently as I watched their backs; Situ Jianfei is truly a good brother. No matter what mistakes his brother makes, after scolding him, he still worries about his every move. 0

I turned back toward Haoshuai: "Haoshuai, wake up." I slapped his face, but he still showed no signs of consciousness. Helplessly, I picked him up; he wasn't too heavy. Sigh! Let's just head to the nearby hospital first. After exiting, I spotted a clinic not far away and quickly carried him inside, laying him on a bed: "Oh man, I'm exhausted! Doctor, please check on this guy first!" 0

The doctor came out after hearing this and checked Haoshuai. "He's fine; all vital signs are normal. He's just temporarily fainted. Let's get him on an IV," the doctor said as he set up an IV drip and bandaged his head. I sat beside him silently praying: "Haoshuai, please wake up soon; otherwise, if your parents come looking for you in a panic, it'll be a lot for me to handle! Wait! Haoshuai doesn't know it was me who hit him from behind. Hmm, Xiang Jie, don't be afraid; I wonder how Situ Jianfei and Zhao Bin are doing since they were also hurt badly. Thank goodness it was me who knocked him out; otherwise, it would be Situ Jianfei and Zhao Bin lying here now. 0

After a while, Haoshuai slowly woke up. He opened his eyes slowly, glanced around, and when he saw me, there was a flash of surprise before he quickly regained his composure. "Jianfei, is that you? How did you end up here?" he asked softly. My mind raced as I feigned calmness: "Oh, me? After finishing my match, I was walking down the street when I suddenly needed to use the restroom. There were no toilets around, so I went into an abandoned soccer field to relieve myself. Who knew I'd find you sleeping there? I called your name a couple of times but got no response, so I just carried you here." 0

I tried my best to make my impromptu story sound believable. 0

Upon hearing this, Haoshuai looked at me gratefully and said slowly: "Jianfei, thank you; you saved my life. I was fighting with someone when some bastard attacked me from behind. Damn it! If I find out who did this, I won't let them off easily!" He seemed agitated as he clenched his fist and tried to sit up but felt pain in his head and lay back down again. His words sent chills down my spine; I mustn't let him know it was me who did this or he'd definitely tear me apart—he's the type who would do anything when angry. 0

I forced a smile to reassure him: "It's okay; the doctor said you didn't injure your brain—just some superficial wounds. This is actually a blessing in disguise." Hearing this, Haoshuai sighed: "Well, that's one way to look at it." 0

I tentatively asked him: "By the way, who were you fighting with that led to this?" After a moment of silence, he turned his head away: "No one special—just some thugs who kept bothering me until I couldn't take it anymore and fought back." Hearing this made me think: Yes! If you weren't such a jerk, would Jianfei and Zhao Bin be so angry? You brought this upon yourself. 0

"By the way, how's your progress in the Street Basketball Championship?" Suddenly asked Haoshuai. I nodded: "Well enough; we won against the Spirit Serpent Team this afternoon and advanced to the top eight. After our match, we went to watch yours but found out you'd already finished playing. We saw the scoreboard—you advanced too, right?" I excitedly discussed with him when suddenly his expression darkened: "Sigh! I wonder if my injury will affect my performance in future matches. If we lose because of this injury in this series of games, I'll never forgive myself." 0

For some reason, I suddenly felt a bit sympathetic toward Haoshuai. He's obsessed with basketball—completely focused on the game—but his obsession is different from that of A Fei. While A Fei wants to lead his team forward step by step with his own strength openly and honestly, he would go to any lengths—even resorting to underhanded tactics—to get into the team for matches—a healthy obsession versus a harmful one. 0

After a while when the IV was done dripping, the doctor helped sit up Haoshuai. The doctor warned him not to engage in any intense activities immediately or he might feel dizzy. With a bitter smile at the doctor’s warning, even if he wanted to engage in intense activities now, he'd be too weak to do so anyway. 0
